M. Singaravelar Maligai

M. Singaravelar Maaligai is a state government official building that houses Chennai district Collector's office, some state Government offices and Civil and Sessions courts, in Chennai of Tamil Nadu in India. The building was named after M. Singaravelar alias Malayapuram Singaravelu, who was a social reformer.

The Dharma Kidangu Mosque is a mosque located in Angappa Naicken Street in the Georgetown neighbourhood of Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is considered to be the oldest mosque in Muthialpet. The original mosque built of stone was demolished in 2008 and a new mosque built.

The Mamoor Mosque, also known as the Masjid-e-Mamoor and sometimes referred to as the Big Mosque, is a mosque located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The mosque is situated on Angappan Street in George Town, also called Muthialpet, and is the oldest surviving mosque in George Town. The mosque was built in the 18th century on the same design as Wallajah Mosque, and was rebuilt in granite by the Nawab of Carnatic, Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, in the late 19th century. Since then, the mosque has been frequently renovated.

Chennai General Post Office (GPO) is located on Rajaji Salai at Parry's Corner, Chennai. It functions in a building built in 1884. It is located opposite to the Chennai Beach suburban railway station. Chennai GPO covers an area of about 23.33 km2 (9.01 sq mi) and serves a population of around 220,000. It has no sub- or branch offices.

The Kālikāmbal Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shri Kāligāmbāl (Kāmākshi) and Lord Kamadeswarar, located in Parry's corner (Old: George Town) locality of the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is located in Thambu Chetty Street, a prominent financial street at Georgetown, running parallel to Rajaji Salai.

Chennai Beach (formerly known as Madras Beach) (station code: MSB) is a railway terminus of the Southern Railway network in Parry's Corner, Chennai, India. Built on reclaimed land, the station serves the suburban services of the Chennai Suburban Railway and Mass Rapid Transit System (Chennai) and a few passenger trains. It serves as the northern terminus for the Chennai MRTS line. The station is named after High Court Beach, which was later built up as part of Chennai Port, and not after the Marina Beach, which is located a few kilometres away and is served by Chepauk, Triplicane and Lighthouse stations of the MRTS line. The station consists of 1500 square metres of open parking area.The station is located adjacent to the High Court and Broadway. There is also Burma Bazaar, which sells foreign merchandise in small shops outside of the station. Most of the government offices and headquarters of some banks, and Parry Group's offices are also located near the station. In addition to being a focal terminus for much of Chennai's rail network, the station is also a major bus transportation hub for passengers destined to north and northwest Chennai. Most of these local buses are situated near the station. It acts as the access point for Chennai port for the port employees.

Mannadi is a Neighbourhood in Chennai district in the state of Tamil Nadu in the peninsular India. It is flooded with almost all kind of businesses. Industrial, factory needed, domestic utility products are widely available. Tradings of various components / rods / sheets / tubes / pipes / screws / bolts / nuts, etc., made of Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper, Aluminium, Bronze, Mild steel, Iron, Cast Iron, Nylon, Plastic, etc. in wholesale and retail are carried out here. In connection with the Coimbatore car blast which was performed by unknown persons on 23rd October, 2022, the residents of the suspects and supporters of ISIS at various places in Chennai including Mannadi area, are raided by the police and NIA (National Investigation Agency). Mannadi is a crowded place and is encroached by various shops. Mannadi street, Jaffar Sarang street, Naranappa street are some of the important roads in Mannadi. Mannadi is bounded by Rajaji Salai, Errabalu street, Jones street and Mannadi street. Apart from these, some of the important streets in Mannadi are Jaffar Sarang street, Post office street, Naranappa street, Moore street, Linghi street, Angappa street, Thambu street, Sembudoss street and Armenian street.

The Royal Madras Yacht Club (RMYC) is a yacht club in Chennai, India. The RMYC was founded by Sir Francis Spring in 1911. It was the first sailing club in southern India, and was originally based in what was called the Timber Pond area of Madras Harbour. Soon after its founding the club was granted royal patronage by George V, and it became one of the most prestigious sporting and social clubs in British India. Today the club is located at Springhaven Wharf, named after its founder.

The Krishnaswami Temple is a Hindu temple located in the neighbourhood of Muthialpet in Parry's corner (Old: George Town), Chennai, India. It was constructed in the 18th century and was the site of a major dispute between Left hand and Right hand castes in 1787 resulting in a major riot. The conflict eventually came to an end with the mediation of the authorities of the Madras government.

Armenian Street, locally known as Aranmanaikaran Street, is one of the historical streets of the commercial centre of George Town in Chennai, India. The road runs north–south and connects Mannady Street in the north with the China Bazaar Road (NSC Bose Road) in the south. The street is dotted with several century-old historical structures. The street is named for the Armenians, who were some of the early settlers in the city of Madras. Several moved to the long street of the commercial neighbourhood of George Town in the 1750s, eventually making the street bear their name. The locals, however, corrupted the name to Aranmanaikaran Street, which means the 'street of the palace people'.

The Gopal Krishna Gokhale Hall is a public hall situated in Armenian Street, Georgetown, Chennai. It was constructed by Annie Besant in 1915 as the headquarters of the Young Men's Indian Association.

Burma Bazaar is a market run by Burmese refugees in Chennai, India. It is located at Parrys Corner and is one of the several unorganized or grey market shopping hubs of Chennai. The bazaar was set up in 1969 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is located just outside the Chennai Beach railway station, in the old financial district of the city at George Town. It is a row of about 200 shops that line either side of the road for about a kilometre.
