The Krishnaswami Temple is a Hindu temple located in the neighbourhood of Muthialpet in Parry's corner (Old: George Town), Chennai, India. It was constructed in the 18th century and was the site of a major dispute between Left hand and Right hand castes in 1787 resulting in a major riot. The conflict eventually came to an end with the mediation of the authorities of the Madras government.

The Dharma Kidangu Mosque is a mosque located in Angappa Naicken Street in the Georgetown neighbourhood of Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is considered to be the oldest mosque in Muthialpet. The original mosque built of stone was demolished in 2008 and a new mosque built.

The Kālikāmbal Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shri Kāligāmbāl (Kāmākshi) and Lord Kamadeswarar, located in Parry's corner (Old: George Town) locality of the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is located in Thambu Chetty Street, a prominent financial street at Georgetown, running parallel to Rajaji Salai.

Old Jail Road is one of the peripheral roads that border the historical neighbourhood and commercial centre of George Town in Chennai, India. The road marks the northern boundary of the neighbourhood and is officially divided into three, namely, from west to east, the Basin Bridge Road, the Old Jail Road, and the Ibrahim Sahib Street. Seven Wells is a neighbourhood in Chennai district of Tamil Nadu State in peninsular India. Its name was derived from the seven number of wells, dug out for clean drinking water and supplied to Fort, during the British period in Chennai. The seven wells were ordered to dig by Francis Whyte Ellis, an Englishman, who was an official of the East India Company, later became Collector of 'Madras' (renamed and called as Chennai nowadays). Seven Wells constitute Seven Wells North [Seven Wells North is located at an altitude of 33 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13°06'11.5"N 80.16'53.8"E (i.e. 13.103200°N 80.281600°E)] and Seven Wells South [Seven Wells South is located at an altitude of 33 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13°05'46.0"N 80°16'53.8"E (i.e. 13.096100°N 80.281600°E)]. Out of the seven wells dug, only two are in use nowadays. This place was earlier called as Peddanaikenpet. Seven Wells is a crowded place of residents and businesses.

The Mamoor Mosque, also known as the Masjid-e-Mamoor and sometimes referred to as the Big Mosque, is a mosque located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The mosque is situated on Angappan Street in George Town, also called Muthialpet, and is the oldest surviving mosque in George Town. The mosque was built in the 18th century on the same design as Wallajah Mosque, and was rebuilt in granite by the Nawab of Carnatic, Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, in the late 19th century. Since then, the mosque has been frequently renovated.

George Town is a neighbourhood in Chennai (formerly Madras), Tamil Nadu, India. It is near the Fort Saint George, Chennai. It is also known as Muthialpet and Parry's corner. It is an historical area of Chennai city from where its expansion began in the 1640s. It extends from the Bay of Bengal in the east to Park town on the west. The Fort St. George is on the south, to Royapuram in the north. The Fort St. George houses the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat. Kandaswami Temple (Tamil: கந்த சுவாமி கோவில்) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, located in the Parry's corner (Old: George Town) neighbourhood of Chennai city, in Tamil Nadu, India. It is also called 'Mutthu Kumāra Swāmi deva sthānam' (Tamil: முத்து குமார சுவாமி ஸ்தானம்) and popularly known as Kandha kottam (Tamil: கந்த கோட்டம்). It is managed by the Tamil Nadu Hindu religious and charitable endowments department of the government of Tamil Nadu. The Kandha kottam temple has associated educational institutions for music and dance classes; primary and high schools; and a college, in various locations. The Kandha kottam temple also performs social welfare initiatives like free medical clinics and free pharmacies.

Stanley Medical College (SMC) is a government medical college with hospitals located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Though the original hospital is more than 200 years old, the medical college was formally established on 2 July 1938. The medical college and the hospital include a Centre of Excellence for Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery and a separate cadaver maintenance unit, the first in the country. By legacy, the hospital's anatomy department receives corpses for scientific study from the Monegar Choultry from which the hospital historically descended.

M. Singaravelar Maligai (Tamil: ம. சிங்காரவேலர் மாளிகை) is an official building comprising Government offices and civil and sessions courts, in Chennai district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. The building was named after M. Singaravelar alias Malayapuram Singaravelu, who was a social reformer. M. Singaravelar Maligai is located at an altitude of about 30 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13.095900°N 80.292400°E / 13.095900; 80.292400.The building consists of eight floors and an underground godown in the front side and a ground floor building at the backside of the campus. The fourth floor is occupied by the Chennai district Collectorate and in general, the building itself is called as Collectorate building. National Informatics Center has a branch here and in the District Administrative office. Aadhaar Permanent Enrollment Center and the office for Chief Minister's Medical Insurance Scheme are situated at the backside ground floor building.The first floor has Civil and Additional Sessions Courts. The second floor is occupied by the Office of the welfare of the District Adi Dravidiar, the Office of the welfare of District Backward Class, TADCO and civil court. Pay and Accounts Office (North) occupies the third floor. Apart from the Chennai District Collector Office in the fourth floor, the Office of the District Revenue Officer and a small meeting hall are available in that floor. The fifth floor has the Office of the District Revenue Officer, Stamp Office, the Office of the District Public Relations Officer, the Office of the P. A. to District Collector and the Office of the District Informatics Center. The sixth floor is occupied by Office of the District Social Security Scheme and the Office of the issuance of the Tribal Permanent Caste Certificate. The seventh floor contains Sub-treasury, Fort, Tondiarpet and the eighth floor comprises the Office of the District Deputy Superintendent for Stamps and an assembly hall. Every Monday, public grievances meetings are held and the Chennai district Collector meets the concerned public regularly. Four wheeler and two wheeler parking lots are available separately.
