Sabadell History Museum

Sabadell (Catalan pronunciation: [səβəˈðeʎ]) is a city in Catalonia, Spain. It is in the south of the comarca of Vallès Occidental and its joint capital (co-capital), on the River Ripoll, 20 km (12 mi) north of Barcelona. Sabadell is located 190 m (620 ft) above sea level. Sabadell pioneered the Industrial Revolution in Catalonia with its textile mills, together with its archrival Terratza. Thus, in the mid-19th century, it became the most important wool city in Spain, being nicknamed the "Catalan Manchester". Today many mills from that period can still be seen, with most of them having been refurbished as residential buildings or other services. Nowadays Sabadell is basically a commercial and industrial city; there are no significant agricultural activities. Sabadell is an important communications point. Two motorways run beside the city: the C-58 (from Barcelona to Manresa) and the AP-7 (from France and Girona to Tarragona, Valencia, and Andalusia), and some roads link Sabadell with nearby cities and towns: Barcelona, Terratza, Cerdanyola del Vallès, Sant Quirze del Vallès, Barberà del Vallès, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Castellar del Vallès, Sant Llorenç Savall, Granollers, Rubí, Sentmenat, and Molins de Rei. A railroad line crosses the city (the Rodalies Barcelona line from Barcelona to Lleida) and another one terminates in the city (the FGC line from Barcelona to Sabadell via Sant Cugat del Vallès).

The Sabadell Art Museum or MAS (Catalan: Museu d'Art de Sabadell) is a museum specialised in Catalan painting from the 19th and 20th centuries and is located in Sabadell, the capital of El Vallès Occidental. It is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network.

The Central Market of Sabadell (Catalonia, Spain) is a large building designed between 1927 and 1930 by local architect Josep Renom i Costa, spanning both the "monumentalism" typical of the construction craze at the end of Miguel Primo de Rivera's dictatorship and the beginning of the Second Spanish Republic. In 2004 it underwent renovation work. It was devised at the time as a specially fine model for municipal structures of this sort. On the sides is inscribed the Catalan word for "market", mercat. Its floor is an irregular quadrilateral, and its basement included originally an ice factory which, however, was closed at the onset of the Republic because the former government didn't pay for its costs.

ESDi School of Design (Escola Superior de Disseny ESDi) is one of the schools of Ramon Llull University. It's located in Sabadell (Barcelona). It offers the Official Undergraduate Degree in Design in the following specialisations: Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, Interior Design and Audiovisual Design. They also teach Management Design which is part of an own specialisation called Integrated Multidisciplinary Design. The Textile Design Foundation (FUNDIT), whose CEO is Antoni Garrell i Guiu, is the founding institution of ESDI. ESDi has over twenty years of history. It was the first school that introduced Spanish university studies in design, as a title owned by URL, and was one of the first colleges to provide the Spanish Official Undergraduate University Degree in Design in 2008. Its mission is to research, which can be proved as ESDi was the organizer of the First International Congress of Design and Innovation in Catalonia in 2010.

Estadi Municipal de la Nova Creu Alta is a multi-use stadium in Sabadell, Catalonia, Spain. It is currently used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of CE Sabadell FC. The address of the stadium is Plaça Olímpia s/n, 08206 Sabadell, and the offices of the club are in the stadium. The stadium holds 11,908 people, after the last reform. The stadium was built in 1967. During the 1992 Summer Olympics it hosted six football matches.

Sant Quirze del Vallès is a town located in the comarca of the Vallès Occidental, province of Barcelona, Catalonia. It is located about 12 miles away from the capital city, Barcelona. Sant Quirze is a residential town populated by approximately 20,000 people with a density of 1.432,27 hab/km², and has grown since the end of the 1990s onwards. It shares borders with Sabadell, Rubí, Terrassa and Sant Cugat, among others, which are important towns within the Barcelona area, since they form Catalonia's most important industrial area and probably also Spain's. Sant Quirze del Vallès is located near the mountain range of the Serra dels Galliners. It has direct access to C58 highway to Barcelona, among others like C58 Manresa and AP7 highway to Girona, Tarragona and Lleida.

Sabadell Airport (IATA: QSA, ICAO: LELL) is located next to the city of Sabadell, 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Barcelona's city centre, in Catalonia. This, and the Cuatro Vientos Airport, are the most important airports for general aviation in Spain. There are more than 200 aircraft registered at this airport, completing around 150.000 operations per year. There are more than 400 people working at these facilities, including training schools, workshops, etc. This airport hosts the oldest aviation club in Spain. 70% of the activity of this airport is devoted to pilot training (both fixed wing and rotary). The other 30% is for advertising flights, photography, and aerotaxi, private flights and institutional flights.

Badia del Vallès is a town and municipality in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia.

The Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM) (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈsentɾə ðə rəˈsɛɾkə mətəˈmatikə]) is a consortium, with its own legal status, integrated by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC) and the Catalan Government. It is a research institute associated with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The CRM is in essence a horizontal infrastructure that gives support to mathematical research groups and encourages the pursuit of emerging lines of research. The centre's activities are divided into two very different categories. The first category places the centre as organiser of international competitions (intensive research programmes, advances courses, conferences, etc.) and as a centre for long-term visiting researchers working in collaboration with the research community of Catalonia. Secondly, since 2008 CRM includes its own research groups, which allows it to open lines of research in different applied areas. The current director of the CRM is Lluís Alsedà. The CRM is a member of ERCOM (European Research Centres in Mathematics). Through its postdoctoral programme, the institute is also part of EPDI (European Postdoctoral Institute). The CRM has the following goals: To carry out research programmes on high-level topics. To attract the best post-doctoral fellows by way of competitive programmes of various administrations and agencies. To consolidate mechanisms for an efficient service to mathematicians. To take further steps towards becoming as competitive as the best European research centres and those of other scientifically developed countries of similar characteristics.

Bellaterra is a quarter of Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the metropolitan area of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It is famous for being the location of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The urbanisation of the neighbourhood started in 1929 when a pharmacist, Bartomeu, leased land from his father-in-law and built the Bellaterra railway station on the Barcelona–Vallès Line (then operated by the Ferrocarrils de Catalunya or FCC; now by the FGC). In the central area of Bellaterra is the Park of El Pedregar de Bellaterra, a garden-museum of some 1.2 hectares (3.0 acres). Within the park is a restaurant, large gardens, water sources and waterfalls with sculptures by artists as Subirachs, Crespo Rivera, Vicente Larrea, Vasallo, Charles Collet or Perceval, as well as Arcadians of Carrara's marble and amphitheatre / audience outdoors for 150 persons. Also in the core one finds the parish of the Holy Creu. Between Bellaterra and Serraperera's core, one finds the campus of the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona, built in 1968 and inaugurated in the year 1971. At the present moment Bellaterra is undergoing an administrative status change into a decentralised municipal entity (EMD).
