It is located to the southeast of the city centre, bordering on the city centre's II and III districts, as well as Kupittaa. The Turku City Hospital is located in Kurjenmäki. The current (as of 2004) population of Kurjenmäki is 679, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 2.50%. 7.07% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 20.47% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 92.64% Finnish, 3.39% Swedish, and 3.98% other.

Ilpoinen (Finnish; Ilpois in Swedish) is a district in the Uittamo-Skanssi ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the southeast of the city, and is mainly a high-density residential area.The current (as of 2004) population of Ilpoinen is 2,889, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.14%. 15.26% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 15.99% are over 65. Kupittaan monitoimihalli ('Kupittaa Multipurpose Hall'), also known as Marli Areena for sponsorship reasons, is an arena in the Kupittaa district of Turku, Finland. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of the Mestis team TUTO Hockey and the Naisten Liiga team TPS Naiset. It was opened on 18 November 2006 on the original site of the Kupittaan jäähalli (Swedish: Kuppishallen), which had opened in 1973 and held 5,500 people.

Ispoinen (Finnish; Ispois in Swedish) is a district in the Uittamo-Skanssi ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the southeast of the city, and is mainly a low-density residential area between the more densely built Uittamo and Ilpoinen. The current (as of 2004) population of Ispoinen is 480, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.83%. 17.50% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 17.08% are over 65. Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum (Finnish: Luostarinmäen käsityöläismuseo, Swedish: Hantverksmuseet på Klosterbacken; Cloister Hill Handicrafts Museum) is an open-air museum in Turku (Swedish: Åbo), Finland.

Veritas Stadion is an association football stadium in Turku, Finland. It is situated in the district of Kupittaa, in an area dedicated to sporting venues. The stadium serves as the home venue for FC Inter Turku and Turun Palloseura playing in Finland's premier football league, the Veikkausliiga. The stadium underwent an expansion in 2009, when a stand with 1,644 seats was built to meet the demands for the UEFA Women's Euro 2009. The stadium has a capacity of 9,372 spectators, with 8,072 seats and 1,300 standing places. In Veritas Stadion there are two stands opposite to each other. The old Olympic stand (Olympiakatsomo) was built for the 1952 Summer Olympics and the new, modern main stand was ready in 2003. After that the name of the stadium was changed to Veritas Stadion, having formerly been known simply as the "Kupittaa football stadium" (Kupittaan jalkapallostadion). The old Kupittaa Stadium's record attendance was approximately 15,000 spectators for the 1987–88 UEFA Cup match between Turun Palloseura and Italian giants Inter Milan. The attendance record of 9,125 spectators was set at a match between Inter Turku and Kuopion Palloseura in 2019.

The II District is one of the central districts of Turku, Finland. It is located on the east side of the river Aura, between Uudenmaankatu and Kaskenkatu. The district is located on the historical centre of the city, and contains numerous cultural and historical venues, such as the Luostarinmäki handicrafts museum, the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova twin museums, and the Old Great Square, the city's oldest marketplace. It also hosts events such as the Medieval Market of Turku. A large portion of the district's land area is also taken up by the Vartiovuori park. The district has a population of 2,878 (as of 2007) and an annual population growth rate of -1.06%. 5.89% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 24.12% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 82.63% Finnish, 15.66% Swedish, and 1.71% other. The II District has the largest proportion of Finland-Swedes out of all the districts of Turku, and as a result it hosts two Swedish-language schools.

Mäntymäki (Swedish: Tallbacka) is a district of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located to the south of the city centre, between Kurjenmäki and Vähäheikkilä. The current (as of 2004) population of Mäntymäki is 1,489, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.34%. 10.28% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 21.76% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 90.33% Finnish, 6.85% Swedish, and 2.82% other.

Vartiovuori Observatory (Finnish: Vartiovuoren tähtitorni, Swedish: Åbo Akademis observatorium) is a former observatory in Turku, Finland. The observatory, designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, was originally built for the Royal Academy of Turku. The neoclassical building was completed in 1819. The observatory is situated atop the Vartiovuori hill, and it is clearly visible from different sides of the city centre. The observatory became defunct in 1836. Today the building is owned by the Åbo Akademi University Foundation and houses the foundation's offices.

Katariina (Finnish; Katarina in Swedish) is a district in the Uittamo-Skanssi ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the south of the city, and is mainly a low-density residential suburb. There is also a nature reserve in the area. The current (as of 2004) population of Katariina is 1,282, and it is increasing at an annual rate of 5.38%. 23.63% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 8.50% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 91.73% Finnish, 5.15% Swedish, and 3.12% other.

The III District is one of the central districts of Turku, Finland. It is located on the east side of the river Aura, between Kaskenkatu and Martinkatu. The district is largely composed of the Samppalinna sports park, and includes sporting venues such as the Paavo Nurmi Stadion as well as cultural sites such as the city theatre and the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art. Apart from the areas set aside for parks, the district is rather densely populated, and has a population of 168 485 (as of 2019) Turku an annual population growth rate of -2.58%. 5.00% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 28.58% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 87.18% Finnish, 11.17% Swedish, and 1.64% other.

Kupittaa (Swedish: Kuppis) is a district in Turku, Finland. It is located on the eastern side of the city's centre, around the Kupittaa Park, the first landscaped park in a Finnish city. The district serves as a centre for recreation and business. Turku has recently planned a residential area for 750 residents on the premises of a former HKScan sausage factory.The area hosts, among other things, numerous sports facilities, such as the Veritas Stadion, a Finnish baseball stadium, a velodrome, a bowling alley, a skateboarding area and a BMX track, and the Kupittaa open-air swimming pools. The ice hockey arena in the district was demolished in 2005. A new one was inaugurated in November 2006. Most of the Turku Science Park business centre is located in Kupittaa. The centre is currently expanding around Kupittaa railway station, next to Finnish national road 1 (part of European route E18) between Helsinki and Turku. According to a version of the legend, the first pagan Finns were baptised into Christianity by the Bishop Henry at a spring in Kupittaa Park on Midsummer Day in the year 1155. In the 18th century, the spring was used as a spa facility.
