Towson Center

SECU Arena is a 5,200-seat multi-purpose arena on the Towson University campus in Towson, Maryland. The arena was completed and opened in 2013, and now hosts the men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the volleyball and gymnastics teams. It replaced the Towson Center, which had been in use since 1976. The arena has 340 club seats, four private suites and 104 court side seats. Upon opening, the arena was awarded LEED Gold certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use, and other sustainable features. In addition to being the home of several Towson sports teams, the arena also serves several other functions. It has been used as a concert arena for artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Playboi Carti, Gavin DeGraw, and Juicy J. Since opening, the arena has been host to an annual performance by the Harlem Globetrotters. Additionally, both the university and local Baltimore County high schools use the facility for their commencement ceremonies. In 2017 the Baltimore Blast moved to SECU after 37 years at Royal Farms Arena.

Johnny Unitas Stadium is a multi-purpose sports stadium in Towson, Maryland, United States. The home of several Towson University athletics teams, it is also known as Minnegan Field at Johnny Unitas Stadium or Unitas Stadium.

Auburn House is a historic home located on the grounds of Towson University in Towson, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It was built in 1790 by Charles Ridgely III and stayed in the family until it became part of the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital property in 1944. Towson University (then Towson State College) acquired it in 1971. The building currently serves as the home of the executive offices of the Department of Athletics. The National Register listing shows it having been built in 1849, but it also says that Rebecca Dorsey Ridgely, wife of Charles Ridgely III, lived there from 1791 to 1812. The listing calls it Greek Revival, but 1791 is well before the Greek Revival period in the United States. Towson University calls it "an important example of Italianate–Federal architecture". It is a rectangular three story stone structure faced with scored stucco. The front is three bays, with ground floor windows, six over nine, the full height of the front door. The next story is also six over nine, but not as tall, and the top floor windows are the same size as the upper sash of the floor below. The interior is elegant, including acanthus pattern cornices, Italian marble mantels, graceful chandeliers, and a carved mahogany balustrade. The two story addition on the southwest side was built in the 1920s. Auburn House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 17, 1975, reference number 75000869.

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is a U.S. hospital located in the Baltimore suburb of Towson, Maryland. It was opened in 1965. GBMC serves more than 20,455 inpatient cases and approximately 52,000 emergency department visits annually. GBMC's main campus includes three medical office buildings—Physicians Pavilion East, Physicians Pavilion West and Physicians Pavilion North I. In addition to its main campus located in Towson, GBMC has several facilities located throughout the community including Hereford, Hunt Manor, Hunt Valley, Owings Mills, Perry Hall, Lutherville, Phoenix and Timonium.GBMC HealthCare is a private, not-for-profit corporation that owns and operates Greater Baltimore Medical Center. GBMC HealthCare also owns and operates Gilchrist Hospice Care (formerly known as Hospice of Baltimore and Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care), the largest not-for-profit hospice organization in the state of Maryland. The organization also includes the GBMC Foundation, which fundraises for GBMC.

University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is a 300-bed regional medical center in Towson, Maryland formerly operated by Catholic Health Initiatives. On December 1, 2012, University of Maryland Medical System acquired all the assets of St. Joseph Medical Center from Catholic Health Initiatives and renamed the hospital to University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. An agreement was made between University of Maryland Medical System and the Archdiocese of Baltimore to continue the religious mission and Catholic traditions at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.The hospital's history dates to 1864, when Catherine Eberhard donated three Baltimore rowhouses to the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Six years later, the state government approved the incorporation of Saint Joseph German Hospital. The hospital moved to a larger Baltimore facility in 1872 and then to Towson in 1965.Prior to this acquisition, St. Joseph's was experiencing money issues and loss of long-time patients in their cardiology department after their former star cardiologist Mark Midei lost his medical license due to multiple lawsuits filed against him over the issue of heart stents.

Rodgers Forge is a national historic district southwest of the unincorporated Towson area and county seat of Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, just north of the Baltimore City/County line. It is mostly a residential area, with rowhouses, apartments, single-family dwellings, and a new complex of luxury townhomes. The area also has a small amount of commercial development. It is just south of Towson University. 21212 is the postal code for Rodgers Forge. In 2004, Rodgers Forge gained international attention as the home of Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps. In 2013, Rodgers Forge was ranked by Baltimore Magazine as one of the top neighborhoods in Baltimore County. The magazine also named Rodgers Forge as one of the 10 "best-kept secret neighborhoods" in Baltimore metropolitan area for its "strong public schools, thriving community organizations, and easy access to shopping and entertainment in Baltimore and Towson." Rodgers Forge has also been consistently ranked as one of the safest Baltimore neighborhoods, according to the website and online database NeighborhoodScout. In 2019, Rodgers Forge became the first neighborhood group in Maryland to file to remove racist language from historic deeds.

The Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital, known to many simply as Sheppard Pratt, is a psychiatric hospital located in Towson, a northern suburb of Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1853, it is one of the oldest private psychiatric hospitals in the nation. Its original buildings, designed by architect Calvert Vaux, and its Gothic gatehouse, built in 1860 to a design by Thomas and James Dixon, were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971.

Bellona–Gittings Historic District is a national historic district located at Baltimore, Maryland.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.The resources of the district total 449, which includes 374 residences, associated garages, and one commercial property which is a one story brick store building used for a neighborhood pharmacy and wine store. The architecture of this building harmonizes with the surrounding buildings. Of these resources, 395 are contributing and are characterized by a high level of architectural integrity. Most of the 54 noncontributing resources were constructed later than the period of significance.

The John B. Schuerholz Baseball Complex is a baseball venue located in Towson, Maryland, United States. It is used by the Towson University Tigers baseball team. It has a capacity of 500 spectators and opened in 2001. The playing surface of the field is natural grass.On April 29, 2001, the baseball facility at Towson University was named John B. Schuerholz Park. The stadium is named in honor of John Schuerholz, a 1962 Towson alumnus and former member of the baseball program. His contributions to Towson University allowed the renovations to take place. He is the Vice Chairman Emeritus of the Atlanta Braves.The renovations to the facility included permanent seating, a press box, and a concessions area.

Towson () is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The population was 55,197 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Baltimore County and the second-most populous unincorporated county seat in the United States (after Ellicott City, the seat of nearby Howard County, southwest of Baltimore).

Towson University (TU or Towson) is a public university in Towson, Maryland. Founded in 1866 as Maryland's first training school for teachers, Towson University is a part of the University System of Maryland. Since its founding, the university has evolved into eight subsidiary colleges with over 20,000 students. Its 329-acre campus is situated in Baltimore County, Maryland eight miles north of downtown Baltimore. Towson is one of the largest public universities in Maryland and still produces the most teachers of any university in the state.

Doc is the official mascot of Towson University. He is named after former sports department head Donald "Doc" Minnegan.
