XTSR is a college radio station owned by Towson University and managed by the Department of Electronic Media & Film. Their internet radio programming operates 24/7 with a mix of live student DJ shifts and automated programming. Popular shows XTSR Features are "Total Talk Sports", "The Pregame", "Wynn to Wynn", "True Crime Tuesdays" and "On God No Cap" At the station, radio students learn first hand about the basics of running a radio station. The station's genre includes Sports talk, Adult Contemporary, Pop Culture, Live Dj's, Poetry, Comedy, Hip Hop, and Rock. They also have contacts with most major and independent music labels. XTSR can be streamed through the website (XTSR.org), through iTunes under the College Radio tuner, or through the College Radio tuner app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Students living on Towson University's campus can listen on channel 26 on the campus' cable television network.

Towson University (TU or Towson) is a public university in Towson, Maryland. Founded in 1866 as Maryland's first training school for teachers, Towson University is a part of the University System of Maryland. Since its founding, the university has evolved into eight subsidiary colleges with over 20,000 students. Its 329-acre campus is situated in Baltimore County, Maryland eight miles north of downtown Baltimore. Towson is one of the largest public universities in Maryland and still produces the most teachers of any university in the state.

Baltimore County Jail is a historic jail located at Towson in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It was built in 1855 and is a two-story Italianate style stone building, measuring 52 feet wide and 62 feet deep. It consists of a five-bay-wide warden’s house with a central three story entry tower. In the rear is a cell block with three levels of jail cells and covered by a gable roof. The warden's house and tower features a low pyramidal hipped roof and 30-inch-thick (760 mm) walls. Attached to the warden's house is a stone garage built in 1940. It was used as a correctional facility until 2006.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 26, 2009.

The Baltimore County Courthouses are located in Towson, Maryland, the county seat of Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The older, original Baltimore County Courthouse was built between 1854 and 1856. It has had three additions that eventually formed an 'H' shape. It houses many of the offices of the county government, including the executive branch, county executive, and their departments, agencies, boards, commissions, and other bodies, and the county council. The County Courts Building, known as the new courthouse, lies to the west, separated by a plaza. Built between 1970 and 1971, it houses the civil, criminal, family and juvenile divisions of the 3rd Judicial Circuit of the Circuit Courts of Maryland, and the Baltimore County Sheriff's Office, which is charged with the protection of the courthouse and its judicial personnel and countywide law enforcement functions.

The Towson Post Office at 101 West Chesapeake Avenue in Towson, Maryland, was completed in 1937. It is a two-story, limestone building, that is lightly styled in a Neo-Classical fashion. Formally the body of the building consists of three bays where the larger central portion projects slightly. The roof is a low gable topped by a modest central cupola. The lobby contains a transportation themed Works Progress Administration mural by Nicolai Cikovski. The mural drew considerable attention and criticism in the local press when it was completed in June 1938. The artist was a Russian emigre and an instructor at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington.

Towson Academy is a historic National Guard armory building located at Towson, Baltimore County, Maryland. It is a two-story brick structure constructed in 1933 with full basement, faced with a smooth light-colored, marble-like stone veneer. It features a T-shaped plan with a two-story front "head house" section and a one-story perpendicular "drill hall" extending to the rear and its façade is detailed to recall Medieval fortifications, with towers flanking the central entrance.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The John B. Schuerholz Baseball Complex is a baseball venue located in Towson, Maryland, United States. It is used by the Towson University Tigers baseball team. It has a capacity of 500 spectators and opened in 2001. The playing surface of the field is natural grass.On April 29, 2001, the baseball facility at Towson University was named John B. Schuerholz Park. The stadium is named in honor of John Schuerholz, a 1962 Towson alumnus and former member of the baseball program. His contributions to Towson University allowed the renovations to take place. He is the Vice Chairman Emeritus of the Atlanta Braves.The renovations to the facility included permanent seating, a press box, and a concessions area.

University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is a 300-bed regional medical center in Towson, Maryland formerly operated by Catholic Health Initiatives. On December 1, 2012, University of Maryland Medical System acquired all the assets of St. Joseph Medical Center from Catholic Health Initiatives and renamed the hospital to University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. An agreement was made between University of Maryland Medical System and the Archdiocese of Baltimore to continue the religious mission and Catholic traditions at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.The hospital's history dates to 1864, when Catherine Eberhard donated three Baltimore rowhouses to the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Six years later, the state government approved the incorporation of Saint Joseph German Hospital. The hospital moved to a larger Baltimore facility in 1872 and then to Towson in 1965.Prior to this acquisition, St. Joseph's was experiencing money issues and loss of long-time patients in their cardiology department after their former star cardiologist Mark Midei lost his medical license due to multiple lawsuits filed against him over the issue of heart stents.

Towson Calvary Baptist Church, at 120 West Pennsylvania Ave, Towson, Maryland, was completed in 1929.It is a gothic building built from the stone, concrete and aggregate supplied by the nearby Campbell quarry, which had its headquarters on the same block. The Harry Tyler Campbell company ultimately became the successful producers of Camel-Wite, an early whiting ingredient for paint, paper, rubber and plastic and Sakrete, a popular pre-mixed concrete formulation.The structure is the second church building on the grounds. The first Calvary Baptist Church began meeting in 1890 and established their original wood-frame building at this address two years later (1892). The original building burned in 1929. The original 19th-century Baptist parsonage survived the fire and is currently leased for offices.

Towson High School is a high school in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, founded in 1873. The school's current stone structure was built in 1949. Located in the northern Baltimore suburb of Towson and serving the surrounding communities of Towson, Lutherville, and Ruxton, it is part of the Baltimore County Public Schools system, the 25th largest school system in the nation as of 2005. Area middle schools that feed into Towson High are Dumbarton Middle School, Ridgely Middle School, and Loch Raven Technical Academy, although students from other areas attend the Law and Public Policy magnet school.
