San Francisco Waldorf School

Town School for Boys, located in San Francisco, California, is an independent day school for boys from kindergarten through the eighth grade. The school was established in 1939 by parents from the recently closed and privately owned Damon School, and in 1938–39 was known as the Tamalpais Junior School. Town School for Boys is considered a college preparatory institution for boys in San Francisco. The school is well respected nationally, and has a thriving teacher training program called the New Teacher Institute, founded in 1990. The enrollment of over 400 boys is divided into 9 grades, K - 8, with two classes per grade. While renovations took place in the 2013–14 school year, the school temporarily leased the space in the Palace of Fine Arts vacated by the Exploratorium.Notable faculty include Gurdon Woods, later head of the San Francisco Art Institute, and Robert Nowe, who was the inspiration for Canin's novel The Palace Thief, which was made into the film The Emperor's Club starring Kevin Kline.

Hillwood Academic Day is a small, independent school for boys and girls in the kindergarten through the eighth grade. The non-denominational school is located at 2521 Scott Street in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood. It was started in 1949 by Mary Libra and includes a summertime outdoor education program with a lodge in Muir Woods. Eric Grantz, the grandson of Libra and a Hillwood graduate, now runs the school, which has approximately 48 students. Hillwood's mascot is a black labrador retriever, named Max, and the school's colors are forest green and blue. The student publication is The Hillwood Herald, a blog published by the fifth through eighth graders.

The Swedenborgian Church is a historic church complex at 2107 Lyon Street in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California. Built in 1895 for a Swedenborgian congregation, it is considered one of California's earliest pure Arts and Crafts buildings, with design contributions by A. C. Schweinfurth, A. Page Brown, Bernard Maybeck, William Keith, and Bruce Porter. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2004.

A $40 million Pacific Heights mansion was listed as San Francisco's most expensive home. Later in the year, Business Insider gave a preview inside San Francisco's most exclusive neighborhood, where old money rubs elbows with tech billionaires. In 2018, Pacific Heights continued to garner accolades and was voted as one of the 15 most prestigious residential neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pacific Heights has also been listed among the top 10 richest neighborhoods in San Francisco.Pacific Heights is situated on a primarily east–west oriented ridge that rises sharply from the Marina District and Cow Hollow neighborhoods to the north to a maximum height of 370 feet (110 m) above sea level. Pacific Heights features two parks, Lafayette and Alta Plaza. Visible to the north are the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, and Alcatraz Island. Visible to the south are Twin Peaks and the Sutro Tower. Lower Pacific Heights refers to the area located south of California Street down to Post Street. While this area was previously considered part of the Western Addition, the new neighborhood designation became popularized by real estate agents in the early 1990s.

St. Dominic's Church in San Francisco, California, is a Roman Catholic parish situated in the Western Addition neighborhood, located at the corner of Bush and Steiner Streets. The parish was established by the Dominican order in 1873, and the current church, built in the Gothic style, was finished in 1928. In addition to a large parish membership, St. Dominic's Church has one of the most active Catholic Young Adults Groups in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The Church gave its name to Van Morrison's hit 1972 studio album, Saint Dominic's Preview.

Lower Pacific Heights, also known as Upper Fillmore, is a neighborhood in San Francisco, California, between Pacific Heights, the Fillmore District, Laurel Heights, and Japantown. The neighborhood is centered on the commercial corridor of Fillmore Street between California and Post streets, with California Street to the north, Geary Boulevard to the south, Presidio Avenue to the west, and Van Ness Avenue to the east. Historically, the area was part of the Western Addition. Long a middle-class neighborhood geographically and socially intermediate between Pacific Heights and the Lower Fillmore, the area became wealthier and more upscale with the escalation of San Francisco property values in the 1980s and 1990s, when the designation "Upper Fillmore" fell out of favor and "Lower Pacific Heights" came into increased use.
