Pacific Heights is a neighborhood in San Francisco, California. It has panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, the Palace of Fine Arts, Alcatraz, and the Presidio. The Pacific Heights Residents Association defines the neighborhood as stretching from Union Street to Bush Street in the north–south direction and from Van Ness Avenue to Presidio Avenue in the east–west direction. The San Francisco Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services defines its north–south extent more narrowly, with Green Street and California & Pine Streets serving as its boundaries.In 2013, Pacific Heights was named the most expensive neighborhood in the United States. The article stated that if San Francisco's Pacific Heights had its own zip code, it would be the most expensive place to live in the United States. The 94115 zip code includes both Pacific Heights' "Gold Coast", an area famous for its billionaire residents and record-breaking prices, and "The Western Addition", an area about 20 blocks away where real estate prices are significantly lower. In 2017, Curbed SF again announced the "occasionally chic, hardly affordable, always elite Pacific Heights" as San Francisco's most expensive neighborhood. A $40 million Pacific Heights mansion was listed as San Francisco's most expensive home. Later in the year, Business Insider gave a preview inside San Francisco's most exclusive neighborhood, where old money rubs elbows with tech billionaires. In 2018, Pacific Heights continued to garner accolades and was voted as one of the 15 most prestigious residential neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pacific Heights has also been listed among the top 10 richest neighborhoods in San Francisco.Pacific Heights is situated on a primarily east–west oriented ridge that rises sharply from the Marina District and Cow Hollow neighborhoods to the north to a maximum height of 370 feet (110 m) above sea level. Pacific Heights features two parks, Lafayette and Alta Plaza. Visible to the north are the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, and Alcatraz Island. Visible to the south are Twin Peaks and the Sutro Tower. Lower Pacific Heights refers to the area located south of California Street down to Post Street. While this area was previously considered part of the Western Addition, the new neighborhood designation became popularized by real estate agents in the early 1990s.

The Leale House is a historic residence located at 2475 Pacific Avenue, between Fillmore Street and Steiner Street, in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of Pacific Heights, San Francisco, California in the United States. As one of the oldest dwellings in the area, the exact origin of the Captain Leale House has been a subject of debate among scholars. Originally serving as the main house for a dairy farm, it is believed to have been constructed as early as 1853.

Town School for Boys, located in San Francisco, California, is an independent day school for boys from kindergarten through the eighth grade. The school was established in 1939 by parents from the recently closed and privately owned Damon School, and in 1938–39 was known as the Tamalpais Junior School. Town School for Boys is considered a college preparatory institution for boys in San Francisco. The school is well respected nationally, and has a thriving teacher training program called the New Teacher Institute, founded in 1990. The enrollment of over 400 boys is divided into 9 grades, K - 8, with two classes per grade. While renovations took place in the 2013–14 school year, the school temporarily leased the space in the Palace of Fine Arts vacated by the Exploratorium.Notable faculty include Gurdon Woods, later head of the San Francisco Art Institute, and Robert Nowe, who was the inspiration for Canin's novel The Palace Thief, which was made into the film The Emperor's Club starring Kevin Kline.

The Kitchen is a non-denominational Jewish congregation located in San Francisco, California, in the United States. The congregation was founded by Rabbi Noa Kushner in 2011 following her work at Congregation Rodef Sholom, as part of an effort to "to create something that filled a gap, that met needs that weren’t being met." It describes itself as "one part shabbat + justice + torah community, one part San Francisco experiment and one part tool kit for Jewish life at home." The Kitchen focuses on incubating new ways of helping Jews connect with Jewish religion, text, and practices. It partnered with the design firm IDEO to design the congregation's materials and its services. The Kitchen has also engaged in a range of experimental musical outreach efforts; it received a grant from the Covenant Foundation immediately prior to the pandemic to engage in musical outreach, resulting in the creation of an album collecting communal singing traditions.As of 2015, it had approximately 200 member households.The Kitchen is a member of the Jewish Emergent Network.

The Fillmore Street Tunnel was a proposed double-bore tunnel approximately 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) long in San Francisco, California which would have carried Fillmore Street and a new streetcar line underneath Pacific Heights and Russian Hill. The proposed tunnel would have connected the Western Addition and Fillmore Districts, near the south portal at Sutter Street, with Marina and Cow Hollow, near the north portal at Filbert Street. One tunnel would have been reserved for railroad and pedestrian traffic, while the parallel tunnel would have been for vehicles. The tunnel was planned, along with the contemporary Twin Peaks and Stockton Street Tunnels, to serve the traffic that was anticipated from the 1914–15 Panama–Pacific International Exposition. The tunnel was first announced in early 1912. However, the preparation of detailed plans and permits delayed the estimated start of construction to July 1914, which meant the tunnel could not be completed in time to service the Exposition, and the project was killed in September 1913.

Hillwood Academic Day is a small, independent school for boys and girls in the kindergarten through the eighth grade. The non-denominational school is located at 2521 Scott Street in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood. It was started in 1949 by Mary Libra and includes a summertime outdoor education program with a lodge in Muir Woods. Eric Grantz, the grandson of Libra and a Hillwood graduate, now runs the school, which has approximately 48 students. Hillwood's mascot is a black labrador retriever, named Max, and the school's colors are forest green and blue. The student publication is The Hillwood Herald, a blog published by the fifth through eighth graders.

Clay Theatre is a historic 1913 single screen theater building in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California, United States. It was formerly known as The Regent, The Avalon, The Clay International, and Landmark's Clay Theatre. It has been listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark since May 6, 2022.

The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute is a nonprofit research institute in San Francisco, California, with a focus on vision science and rehabilitation engineering. It was founded in 1959 by Arthur Jampolsky and Alan B. Scott, when some members of Stanford University's Ophthalmology Department elected to stay in San Francisco rather than move to Palo Alto.

Casebolt House is a historic residence in the Cow Hollow district of San Francisco, California, U.S.. It is the oldest house in the neighborhood, built in c. 1865. It is a San Francisco designated landmark since 1973.

San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWHS) is an independent preK–12 school in San Francisco, California. The school is based on the principles of Waldorf education. The kindergarten and grade school are located at 2938 Washington Street and the high school is located at 470 West Portal Avenue. About 50% of students at the high school also attended the grade school, the rest coming from public, parochial, and other independent schools. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).

Calvary Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church in San Francisco, California located in Pacific Heights at the corner of Fillmore Street and Jackson Street. The present building was built in 1901 and features Late 19th And 20th Century Revival architecture and an Edwardian style. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Vedanta Society of Northern California is a Hindu spiritual organization headquartered in San Francisco, founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1900. It is notable for having built the first Hindu temple in the Western hemisphere.
