Göztepe railway station

Göztepe is a neighborhood in Kadiköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. The name, literally meaning "eye hill" in English, was coined to honor Gözcü Baba ("Father Watchman"), the nickname of the watchman of a dervish lodge situated on a hill there.The neighborhood on the Asian part of Istanbul is bordered in the south by Sahilyolu (Coastline) and the Sea of Marmara, in the north by Merdivenköy, in the east by Erenköy and in the west by Çiftehavuzlar neighborhoods. The notable high street of the Asian part of Istanbul, the Baghdad Avenue, runs through Göztepe. The city park of Göztepe is the largest green area along Baghdad Avenue covering 10,000 m2 (2.5 acres).

The İstanbul Toy Museum (Turkish: İstanbul Oyuncak Müzesi) is a toy museum located in the Göztepe neighbourhood of Kadıköy district in İstanbul, Turkey. The museum was founded by the Turkish poet and novelist, Sunay Akın, in 2005. The museum opened on April 23, a national holiday in Turkey, National Sovereignty and Children's Day. Currently, the museum has on display 4,000 toys and miniatures from Turkey and abroad; many of the exhibits are antiques, some of which date back nearly 200 years. The first floor of the museum is the site of the Eyüp Toy Shop, a famous toy shop that closed down in the 1950s. In 2012, the museum was nominated and shortlisted for the annual European Museum Academy Children’s Museum Award.The museum is open weekdays (except Mondays), 9:30-18:00, and weekends, 9:30-19:00. It is located at Ömerpaşa Caddesi, Dr. Zeki Zeren Sokak 17, Göztepe-Kadıköy, Istanbul.

Caddebostan Synagogue is a synagogue built in 1953 in the Kadiköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. The name of the architect is Albert Arditi. As a result of the increase of the Jewish population in the area, the Synagogue is the most populated one on the Asian side of the city and visits and participation in prayers is possible by contacting the Chief Rabbinate. The synagogue was active with the demand made to the Turkish authorities by the Chief Rabbinate on the 1 April 1961.

Erenköy Girls High School (Turkish: Erenköy Kız Anadolu Lisesi) is a public girls high school in the Erenköy neighborhood of Kadıköy district in Istanbul, Turkey. Founded in 1911 during the Ottoman Empire, it is the oldest surviving girls high school in the country and the only girls high school in Istanbul.

Erenköy station (Turkish: Erenköy garı) is a railway station in Kadıköy, Istanbul. Between 1969 and 2013, it was a station on the Haydarpaşa suburban to Gebze and starting on 10 March 2019, will be a station on the Marmaray commuter rail system. The station was originally opened on 22 September 1872 by the Ottoman government as part of the railway from Istanbul to İzmit. Erenköy station was expanded in 1949 by the Turkish State Railways to accommodate more traffic.

Caddebostan is a neighborhood in the Kadıköy district inside the city of Istanbul, Turkey. It has a population of 21,058 as of 2022. Caddebostan is 1.663 km². The neighborhood is mostly known for Bağdat Avenue, Caddebostan Coast, and the Ragıp Pasha Mansion. Caddebostan is bordered by Çiftehavuzlar and Fenerbahçe in the west, Göztepe and Erenköy in the north, and Suadiye in the east.

Galib Pasha Mosque is a mosque situated on the Bağdat Street (located inside the borders of Caddebostan, but colloquially perceived to be in Erenköy) in Kadıköy, Istanbul. It was constructed in 1899 by Abdullah Galib Pasha in the Abdulhamid II period, as written on its entrance. In front of the Galib Pasha Mosque is the Galib Pasha Mosque Fountain.

Rouphinianai (Ancient Greek: Ρουφινιαναί), also known as Drys (Ancient Greek: Δρῦς), was a coastal town of ancient Bithynia located on the road from Libyssa to Chalcedon on the north coast of the Propontis. Its church was reportedly saved by Nicaean emperor John III Vatatzes. Its site is located near Caddebostan in Asiatic Turkey.

Marmara University (Turkish: Marmara Üniversitesi) is a public university in Istanbul, in Turkey. The university is named after the Sea of Marmara and was only founded as a university in 1982, but was created in 1883 under the name of Hamidiye Ticaret Mekteb-i Âlisi, in a house in the center of Istanbul. The courses are offered in four languages (Turkish, English, German, French), making the Marmara university the only multilingual university in Turkey, The university has 13 campuses, 11 institutes, 8 colleges and 28 research centers.Some of the most famous students include Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, comic actor Kemal Sunal and media mogul Aydın Doğan.
