Bulwell is a market town in the City of Nottingham, in Nottinghamshire, England. It is 3 miles (5 km) south-west of Hucknall and 4.5 miles (7 km) to the north-west of Nottingham. The United Kingdom Census 2011 recorded the population of Bulwell at 29,771 which amounted to over 10 per cent of Nottingham city's population. The 2011 census gave a population of 16,157 for the Bulwell ward of Nottingham City Council. There is an adjacent ward, Bulwell Forest, which includes Highbury Vale, Rise Park and the west of Top Valley), its population at the same census being 13,614.

Highbury Vale is an area located in the city of Nottingham, and is located in the Bulwell Forest ward (which includes Rise Park and the western area of Top Valley). The area is located roughly 5.4 miles (8.7 km) from the City Centre, and about 1 mile (2 km) from Bulwell. Surrounding areas include Bulwell towards the North, Bestwood to the east, Hempshill Vale to the west and Cinderhill and Basford towards the south. Highbury Vale and Hempshill Vale are classed as a part of Bulwell. At the 2001 census, the area had a population of 4,530.

Cinderhill is a tram stop on the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) light rail system in the city of Nottingham on the boundary between the suburbs of Basford and Bulwell. It was part of the NET's initial system, and is situated in the middle of the short single line branch between Highbury Vale and Phoenix Park tram stops. The stop comprises a single platform and track, situated in a cutting between two bridges and served by trams running in both directions.With the opening of NET's phase two, Cinderhill is now on NET line 2, which runs from Phoenix Park through the city centre to a terminus in Clifton. Trams run at frequencies that vary between 4 and 8 trams per hour, depending on the day and time of day.The stop is on the former alignment of the Cinderhill Colliery Railway to the old Babbington Colliery, which is now the site of Phoenix Park.On 31 August 2021, a car hit a footbridge at the stop.

Bulwell Forest is a tram stop on the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) light rail system in the city of Nottingham in the suburb of Bulwell. It is part of the NET's initial system, and is situated on the long single line section between Bulwell and Hucknall tram stops that runs alongside the Robin Hood railway line. Like all the other intermediate stops on this section, the stop has a passing loop with an island platform situated between the two tracks of the loop.With the opening of NET's phase two, Bulwell Forest is now on NET line 1, which runs from Hucknall through the city centre to Beeston and Chilwell. Trams run at frequencies that vary between 4 and 8 trams per hour, depending on the day and time of day.The tram stop should not be confused with the former Bulwell Forest railway station, which was situated on the, now closed, Great Northern Railway's Nottingham to Shirebrook line, some 750 metres (2,460 ft) to the south-east of the tram stop. The Robin Hood line that passes alongside the stop was originally the former Midland Railway route from Nottingham to Worksop, but there has never been a railway station at the stop's location.There is a road level crossing just to the south of the tram stop, and pedestrian access to the stop is from this crossing. At the crossing, both tram and railway lines are protected by the automatic barriers. The Springfield Retail Park, containing branches of Morrisons, Matalan, Wickes and Brantano, is adjacent to the tram stop.

Phoenix Park is a tram stop on the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) light rail system, in the city of Nottingham suburb of Bulwell. It serves as one of the two northern termini (the other being Hucknall) of the NET's initial system, and is at the end of the short single line branch from Highbury Vale. The stop has a single island platform, flanked by two stub tracks which are segregated from the adjacent road. Phoenix Park serves as one of several park and ride stops on the NET network, with more than 600 car parking spaces located next to the stop.With the opening of NET's phase two, Phoenix Park is now the terminus of NET line 2, which runs through the city centre to a terminus in Clifton. Trams run at frequencies that vary between 4 and 8 trams per hour, depending on the day and time of day.The tram stop and car park, along with the surrounding business park, is on the site of the former Babbington Colliery, also known as Cinderhill Colliery, which opened in 1841 and was the first site for large-scale coal mining in the county of Nottinghamshire.
