Ertvelde

Kluizen is a village in the municipalities of Evergem and Ghent in the province of East Flanders, Belgium. Large parts of the original municipality have become part of the Port of Ghent.

Doornzele is a village in the municipality of Evergem in the province of East Flanders, Belgium. The village is notable for its dries (village square) which is one of the largest in Belgium and in near original condition. Doornzele is located on the Ghent–Terneuzen Canal about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) north of Ghent.

Assenede (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑsəneːdə] ) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Assenede proper, Bassevelde, Boekhoute and Oosteeklo. On 1 January 2021, Assenede had a total population of 14,369. The total area is 87.22 km².

ArcelorMittal Ghent is a Belgian steelworks situated in Ghent near Zelzate, Flanders. It was founded in 1962 by ARBED as Sidmar; the first maritime steel producer in Belgium.

Oosteeklo Abbey was a Cistercian nunnery founded in Oosteeklo in 1217 and later moved to Ghent.

Oosteeklo (formerly Oost-Eekloo) is a historic village in the Flemish province of East Flanders, Belgium, which since 1977 has been a subdivision of the municipality of Assenede. The village is situated 9 km east of Eeklo and 17 km north of Ghent, about 9 km from the border with the Netherlands, and lies approximately 9 metres above sea-level. A craft brewery, Den Tseut, is established in the village.

Desteldonk is a village in the municipality of Ghent in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The first historical record of Desteldonk dates back to 966 when it was listed as Thesledung. In 1236, it was named as a parish. Part of the original municipality was already annexed in 1927. It became part of Ghent in 1965.

Sas van Gent is a town in the Netherlands. It is located in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Terneuzen and lies about 30 km south of Vlissingen on the border with Belgium. The Ghent–Terneuzen Canal passes through Sas van Gent, and at that point there was a lock in the canal. The name of the village, Sas van Gent, means sluice of Ghent.

The Port of Ghent is the third busiest seaport in Belgium, located in Ghent, East Flanders in the Flemish Region. The first port of Ghent was situated at the river Scheldt and later on at the Leie. Since the Middle Ages Ghent has sought for a connection to the sea. In the 13th century via the Lieve canal to the Zwin near Damme, in the 16th century via the Sassevaart, in the 17th century via the Ghent–Bruges canal. Since the 19th century, the Ghent–Terneuzen Canal connects the port via the Western Scheldt to the North Sea. The port of Ghent is accessible by ships of the Panamax size, and in February 2015 the construction of a new lock at Terneuzen was announced, which will maintain near-parity with those of the Panama Canal expansion project.

Zelzate (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzɛlzaːtə]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality only comprises the town of Zelzate proper. In 2021, Zelzate had a total population of 13,124. The total area is 13.71 km2.Zelzate is divided into two parts by the Ghent–Terneuzen Canal. There is a concrete drawbridge and a tunnel to connect the two sides. Zelzate is known for the nearby polluting industry, which makes it the village with the lowest air quality in the country. Recently ArcelorMittal Ghent (Sidmar) made a major investment which resulted in an emission decrease of 90%.

Evergem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈeːvərɣɛm] (listen)) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Belzele, Doornzele, Ertvelde, Evergem proper, Kerkbrugge-Langerbrugge, Kluizen, Rieme, Sleidinge and Wippelgem. In 2021, Evergem had a total population of 35,791.

The Muda Institute is an arts school in the center of Evergem, Belgium. There are two options : dance and music. Dance contains ballet, modern dance, jazz and more. Music contains solfège, singing, musical, a primary instrument, a secondary instrument and more. One of the two instruments should be piano, organ, harpsichord or accordion. Normally the school gives up to ten performances in a year: a student concert, a concert on the open door day, an evaluated concert of the 6th year, and some other performances.
