The Skirmish of Sporting Hill was a relatively small skirmish during the Gettysburg campaign of the American Civil War, taking place on June 30, 1863, at various locations in present-day Camp Hill, East Pennsboro Township and Hampden Township in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. It is known as the northernmost engagement of Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia during the Civil War.

Sporting Hill is an unincorporated community in Hampden Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is bordered on the north and south by the Conodoguinet Creek and the Capital Beltway (11/581) respectively. Carlisle Pike (the old Route 11 and the main east-west route through Sporting Hill) and the Beltway interchange a short distance west of the village, which has multiple retail stores and restaurants, including in the Hampden Town Centre. On June 30, 1863 the northernmost pitched battle of the American Civil War occurred there at the Skirmish of Sporting Hill during the Gettysburg Campaign.

Peace Church, also known as Die Frieden Kirche, is an historic Reformed and Lutheran church located in Hampden Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1798 by a Reformed congregation, and is a 2+1⁄2-story limestone building with a five-bay front and three-bay sides. In 1806 the local Lutheran congregation was invited "in peace" to share the building for services. The interior features a wine glass pulpit, balcony around three sides, and organ built in 1807. Its builder, Martin Rupp, also built the Johannes Eberly House.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Shiremanstown is a borough in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. Bordered to the north by Hampden Township and to the south by Lower Allen Township, it is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was one thousand five hundred and sixty-nine at the time of the 2010 census.

Irving Female College, also known as Irving Manor Apartments and Seidle Memorial Hospital, is a historic school complex located in Mechanicsburg in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of two buildings: Irving Hall and Columbian Hall. Irving Hall is the older building, dating from about 1856. It is a three-story, "U"-shaped brick building with wood trim in the Italianate style. An extension to the building was built about 1900. Columbian Hall, built in 1893, is a three-story, rectangular brick building with a wood-frame addition. It is in a combined Italianate / Spanish Renaissance Revival style. It features a projecting stair tower with a semi-conical roof. Both Irving Hall and Columbian Hall were converted to apartments in the late-1930s. The complex formerly included a third building, known as "Argyle," which was the home of the Irving College president. Built in 1911, it was a rectangular Spanish Renaissance Revival style dwelling, with a low hipped roof and wraparound verandah. "Argyle" was demolished in 1991 to make room for expansion of Seidle Hospital.The Irving College complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

East Pennsboro Township is a township in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 20,228 at the 2010 census, up from 18,254 at the 2000 census. East Pennsboro is the second most populous municipality in Cumberland County. The township is located along the western banks of the Susquehanna River, across from Harrisburg. There are many large corporations based in East Pennsboro Township that use the Camp Hill postal address, including the Rite Aid Corporation and Gannett Fleming.

Mechanicsburg is a borough in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The borough is eight miles (13 km) west of Harrisburg. It is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle metropolitan statistical area. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 8,981.

Trinity High School is a private, coeducational Roman Catholic high school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg, located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, west of Harrisburg. The school has 55 faculty members and an enrollment of about 525 students in grades 9 through 12. The school was twice listed (1992, 1999) as a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Cumberland Valley Railroad Station and Station Master's House, also known as the Mechanicsburg Railroad Station, is a historic railway station and house located at Mechanicsburg in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The station was erected about 1875 by the Cumberland Valley Railroad. It is a 1 1/2-story, brick building with a gable roof. It measures 52 feet by 27 feet. The station master's house is located adjacent to the station, and is a 2 1/2-story, brick building with a gable roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.The building now serves as the main museum and headquarters of the Mechanicsburg Museum Association.

The Mechanicsburg Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 91 contributing buildings in the central business district of Mechanicsburg. Most of the contributing buildings date to the 19th century and includes notable examples of the Late Victorian and Georgian styles. Notable buildings include two churches, two banks, and the police department.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
