Żory railway station

Żory ([ˈʐɔrɨ] ; German: Sohrau, Silesian: Żory, Czech: Žáry, Žárov) is a town and city county in Silesian Voivodeship, Poland with 62,848 inhabitants (2021). Previously it was in Katowice Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is located in the historic Upper Silesia region about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of Katowice.

Karol Miarka Liceum (in Polish: I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Karola Miarki) is the oldest lyceum school in Żory.

National road 81 (Polish: Droga krajowa nr 81) is a route belonging to the Polish national road network. The highway connects Katowice with Skoczów, the whole stretch lies within Silesian Voivodeship. In 1985 the numbering system was reorganized. The route from Katowice to Skoczów was numbered as DK 93 until 2000, after which it was renumbered to DK 81 (the section from Skoczów to Wisła is now DW 941).

Baranowice (German: Baranowitz) is a rural district (dzielnica) in the municipality of Żory since 1975, in the Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. Up until 1945, and between 1973 and 1975, it constituted an independent rural district in the historical and geographical region of Upper Silesia. Baranowice encompasses an area of 1,291 hectares and is the largest of all the districts of Żory.

It has an area of 6.1884 km2 and in January, 2013 had 1,927 inhabitants.It encompasses two former settlements: Rowień (German: Rowin) Folwarki (plural form of folwark, German: Vorbriegen)

Szczejkowice [ʂt͡ʂɛi̯kɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Czerwionka-Leszczyny, within Rybnik County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Czerwionka-Leszczyny, 10 km (6 mi) east of Rybnik, and 29 km (18 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice.

It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of Suszec, 16 km (10 mi) north-west of Pszczyna, and 28 km (17 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice.

Woszczyce (German: Woschczytz) is a sołectwo in the south west of Orzesze, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It was an independent village but was, as a part of gmina Gardawice, administratively merged into Orzesze in 1975. It has an area of 18.7 km² and about 1,230 inhabitants.

Krzyżowice [kʂɨʐɔˈvit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pawłowice, within Pszczyna County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) north-west of Pawłowice, 20 km (12 mi) west of Pszczyna, and 38 km (24 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice.
