St Nicholas' Church, Islip

Islip () is a village and civil parish on the River Ray, just above its confluence with the River Cherwell in Oxfordshire, England. It is about 2 miles (3 km) east of Kidlington and about 5 miles (8 km) north of Oxford. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 652.

Islip railway station serves the village of Islip, Oxfordshire, England. Islip is north-east of Oxford. Services run south to Oxford, 5 miles (8 km) away, and north-east to Bicester Village and London Marylebone. The station is currently managed by Chiltern Railways.

The River Ray is a tributary of the River Cherwell in south east England. It rises at Quainton Hill, Buckinghamshire and flows west through flat countryside for around 25 km (16 mi) to meet the Cherwell at Islip in Oxfordshire. The Ray's catchment area is sparsely populated, especially in its lower reaches as it flows through the Otmoor wetlands. In 1815 a channel was cut between Charlton-on-Otmoor and Oddington, known as the New River Ray, to divert much of the water flow around the northern and southern edge of Otmoor.

Woodeaton Quarry is a 7.3-hectare (18-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Oxford in Oxfordshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site exposes a sequence of rocks dating to the Middle Jurassic around 167 million years ago belonging to the Great Oolite Group, spanning the Chipping Norton Limestone, Sharp's Hill, Taynton Limestone, Rutland, White Limestone, and Forest Marble formations. It exhibits one of the most complete Bathonian sections in the county, and is described by Natural England as "of great palaeontological and sedimentological interest".

Woodeaton or Wood Eaton is a village and civil parish about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Oxford, England. It also has a special needs school called Woodeaton Manor School.

Noke is a small village and civil parish in Oxfordshire about 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Oxford. It is on the southeast edge of Otmoor and is one of the "Seven Towns of Otmoor". The toponym is derived from Old English and means "at the oak trees". The parish still has two woodlands: Prattle Wood about 500 yards (460 m) southwest of the village, and Noke Wood about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southeast.

Ploughley was a rural district in Oxfordshire, England, from 1932 to 1974. It entirely surrounded Bicester but did not include it. It was created in 1932 from parts of the abolished Bicester Rural District, Headington Rural District and Woodstock Rural District, along with a couple of non-urban parishes from Bicester urban district. In 1974 it was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 and now forms part of the Cherwell district.

Oddington Halt was a railway station on the Varsity Line 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of the village of Oddington, Oxfordshire. The London and North Western Railway opened the halt in 1905 and the London, Midland and Scottish Railway closed it in 1926.

Water Eaton is a hamlet in the civil parish of Gosford and Water Eaton, in the Cherwell district, in the county of Oxfordshire, England. It is between Oxford and Kidlington. Water-Eaton was formerly in the parish of Kidlington, in 1866 Water Eaton became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1932 the parish was abolished and merged with Gosford to form "Gosford and Water Eaton". In 1931 the parish had a population of 127.

Woodeaton Wood is a 14-hectare (35-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Oxford in Oxfordshire.This coppice with standards on calcareous soil is a fragment of the ancient Shotover Forest. The ground layer has plants such as wood anemone, nettle-leaved bellflower, ramsons, goldilocks buttercup, early dog-violet and enchanter's nightshade.The site is private land with no public access.

Gosford is a village immediately southeast of Kidlington, Oxfordshire, England. It is in the civil parish of Gosford and Water Eaton. The 2011 Census recorded Gosford and Water Eaton's parish population as 1,373.

Hampton Gay and Poyle is a civil parish in Oxfordshire, England. It was formed in 1932 by merger of the parishes of Hampton Gay (grid reference SP4816) and Hampton Poyle (grid reference SP5015) and as at 2011 had 141 residents across 6.11 km2
