Brigham Circle

Fenwood Road station is a light rail stop on the MBTA Green Line E branch, located on Huntington Avenue at Fenwood Road in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Fenwood Road is the third-least-used stop on the Green Line (after Back of the Hill and South Street), with 221 daily boardings by a 2011 count.The station is located on a street running segment of the E branch; trains run in mixed traffic rather than a dedicated median. The station has no platforms; riders wait on the sidewalks (shared with bus stops for the route 39 and 66 buses) and cross the street to reach trains. Because of this, the station is not accessible. In 2021, the MBTA indicated plans to modify the Heath Street–Brigham Circle section of the E branch with accessible platforms to replace the existing non-accessible stopping locations.

Brigham Circle station is a station on the light rail MBTA Green Line "E" branch, located just east of Brigham Circle in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. With raised platforms installed in a 2001-03 renovation, the station is accessible when served by low-floor streetcars. The two side platforms are staggered, with the outbound platform further west. Crosswalks across Huntington Avenue to the station are present at Brigham Circle (to the outbound platform), between the two platforms, and at Wigglesworth Street (to the inbound platform). East of Brigham Circle, the E branch runs in a dedicated reservation in the median of Huntington Avenue; west of the circle is street running in mixed traffic to the terminus at Heath Street. Because of this, service is often terminated at Brigham Circle due to traffic conditions to preserve service frequency on the remainder of the line. At these times, the parallel 39 bus provides all service west of Brigham Circle. A facing point crossover is located just east of the station, allowing terminating trains to cross over to the inbound platform.

The Boston Medical Library (est. 1875) of Boston, Massachusetts, was originally organized to alleviate the problem that had emerged due to the scattered distribution of medical texts throughout the city. It has evolved into the "largest academic medical library in the world".

Paris-Saclay Medical School, also Faculté de médecine Paris-Saclay in French, is the graduate medical school of Paris-Saclay University and is located in the Bicêtre Medical Area of Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, Val-de-Marne, France and founded in 1968. It is the medical school of the first university in France according to its dean.

The Francis Street–Fenwood Road Historic District encompasses a small but cohesive early 20th-century residential area and streetcar suburb in the Longwood area of Boston, Massachusetts. Bounded by Huntington Avenue, Francis Street, Vining Avenue, Fenwood Road, and St. Albans Road, it includes a collection of two and three-family houses, as well as two apartment houses, a school, and one commercial building, all of which predate the large medical complexes that dominate the Longwood area. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is the public health school of Harvard University, located in the Longwood Medical Area of Boston, Massachusetts. The school grew out of the Harvard-MIT School for Health Officers, the nation's first graduate training program in population health, which was founded in 1913 and then became the Harvard School of Public Health in 1922. Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health is currently ranked as the best school for public health in the world by the Academic Ranking of World Universities. It is also ranked as the third best public health school in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

Kevin W. Fitzgerald Park (formerly Puddingstone Park) is a 5.5-acre (22,000 m2) neighborhood park near Brigham Circle in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It was built as part of the redevelopment of the "ledge site", a former Puddingstone quarry. It is accessible from a stairway from a nearby parking lot, with a winding pathway leading upwards to a view of greater Boston. On November 18, 2006, the park was renamed in honor of Kevin W. Fitzgerald, a state representative for 27 years, a youth advocate, and cofounder of the Center for the Study of Sport in Society at nearby Northeastern University. It borders Brigham Circle below, the traffic intersection and a commercial development by the same name, which includes retail sites for Stop and Shop and Walgreens, Mission Hill Neighborhood Housing Services (which had engaged neighboring institutions, government, and others for funding for the development), and some administrative offices for the Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is the second largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and the largest hospital in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston, Massachusetts. Along with Massachusetts General Hospital, it is one of the two founding members of Mass General Brigham, the largest healthcare provider in Massachusetts. Robert Higgins, MD, MSHA serves as the hospital's current president.Brigham and Women's Hospital conducts the second largest (behind MGH) hospital-based research program in the world, with an annual research budget of more than $630 million. Pioneering achievements at BWH have included the world's first successful heart valve operation and the world's first solid organ transplant. In the 2022 U.S. News & World Report hospital rankings, BWH was ranked fourteenth nationally.

Mission Hill is a 3⁄4 square mile (2 square km), primarily residential neighborhood of Boston, bordered by Roxbury, Jamaica Plain and Fenway-Kenmore and the town of Brookline. It is home to several hospitals and universities, including Brigham and Women's Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital. Mission Hill is known for its brick row houses and triple decker homes of the late 19th century. The population was estimated at 15,883 in 2011.

The Timothy Hoxie House is a historic house in Boston, Massachusetts. This two-story wood-frame house was built in 1854, and is a locally distinctive example of Italianate architecture. It is three bays wide, with each bay a distinct projection from the main block. The central bay is a projecting three-story tower with a hip roof whose cornice is studded with brackets. The right bay has a gable end projection that protrudes even forward of the tower, with a polygonal bay on the first floor and paired round-arch windows on the second. The left bay has a lesser projection, with a shed-roofed porch in front.The house was purchased for restoration in 1975 by brothers Ronald & Randall Finigan. Ronald Finigan and his family lived in the house until its sale in 2002. Finigan is credited for having restored the property and having the home listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Harvard Medical School (HMS) is the graduate medical school of Harvard University and is located in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1782, HMS is one of the oldest medical schools in the United States. Unlike most other leading medical schools, HMS does not operate in conjunction with a single hospital but is directly affiliated with several teaching hospitals in the Boston area. Affiliated teaching hospitals and research institutes include Dana–Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, McLean Hospital, Cambridge Health Alliance, The Baker Center for Children and Families, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

The Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) was launched in September 2004 at the Fourth Capability Conference in Pavia, Italy. It was founded to promote research from many disciplines on key problems including poverty, justice, well-being, and economics.The Association holds annual conferences; maintains a website and mailing list; supports training activities; and provides a forum in which collaborative research can emerge.The HDCA also produces a peer-reviewed journal, the Journal of Human Development and Capabilities: A Multi-Disciplinary Journal for People-Centered Development. The association is supported by the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
