Üsküdar (Turkish pronunciation: [ysˈcydaɾ]),is a large and densely populated municipality of Istanbul, Turkey, on the Anatolian shore of the Bosphorus. It is bordered to the north by Beykoz, to the east by Ümraniye, to the southeast by Ataşehir and to the south by Kadıköy, with Karaköy, Kabataş and Beşiktaş facing it on the opposite shore. It is home to about half a million people. Üsküdar is a major transport hub, with ferries to Karaköy, Kabataş, Besiktaş and some of the Bosphorus suburbs. Üsküdar is a stop on the Marmaray rail service at the point where it starts its journey under the Bosphorus, re-emerging on the European side at Sirkeci. Via the Marmaray Üsküdar is linked to Gebze on the Asian side of the city and Halkali on the European side. Üsküdar is also a stop on the M5 Metro line to Çekmeköy. Buses run along the Bosphorus shore to Anadaolu Kavağı. A private bus service also operates to Şile on the Black Sea. Üsküdar started life as Chrysopolis (Greek: Χρυσόπολις, 'Golden City') then became known as Scutari (Skoutàrion, Σκουτάριον in Greek), a name it retained until the founding of the Turkish Republic.

TVF Burhan Felek Sport Hall, (Turkish: Burhan Felek Spor Salonu) is a volleyball arena located in Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey and reopened on 19 November 2010. It is owned by the Municipality of Kadıköy District and operated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Istanbul Province.The women's volleyball teams, Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, Fenerbahçe Opet; men's volleyball teams Galatasaray HDI Sigorta and Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta play their league matches.

The Battle of Chrysopolis was fought on 18 September 324 at Chrysopolis (modern Üsküdar), near Chalcedon (modern Kadıköy), between the two Roman emperors Constantine I and Licinius. The battle was the final encounter between the two emperors. After his navy's defeat in the Battle of the Hellespont, Licinius withdrew his forces from the city of Byzantium across the Bosphorus to Chalcedon in Bithynia. Constantine followed, and won the subsequent battle. This left Constantine as the sole emperor, ending the period of the Tetrarchy.

TVF 50th Anniversary Sport Hall, (Turkish: TVF 50. Yıl Spor Salonu) is a volleyball and indoor beach volley hall situated within the Burhan Felek Sports Complex in the Altunizade neighborhood of Üsküdar district in Istanbul, Turkey. It was re-opened on October 11, 2008. It is owned by the municipality of Kadıköy District and operated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Istanbul Province. The sports hall was built by the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) as an annex to the Burhan Felek Arena replacing two tennis courts. The former volleyball hall was abondened.The arena with an audience capacity of 7,500 hosts national and international volleyball and indoor beach volley events.The men's volleyball team of İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi plays its league matches in TVF 50th Anniversary Sport Hall.

Bağlarbaşı is an underground station on the M5 line of the Istanbul Metro in Üsküdar. It is located beneath Nuhsuyukuyu Avenue in Altunizade, Üsküdar. Connection to IETT city buses is available from at street level. The station consists of an island platform with two tracks. Since the M5 is an ATO line, protective gates on each side of the platform open only when a train is in the station. Bağlarbaşı station was opened on 15 December 2017, together with eight other stations between Üsküdar and Yamanevler.

The Çinili Mosque (Turkish: Çinili Cami, lit. 'Tiled Mosque') is a 17th-century Ottoman mosque in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey. The small mosque is best known for its extensive tile decoration, which earned it its name.

Capitol Shopping Centre (Turkish: Capitol Alışveriş Merkezi), opened in 1993 in Altunizade neighbourhood of Üsküdar, is the first modern big shopping mall on the Asian part of Istanbul, Turkey. Built on 6 floors and covering an area of 73,000 m², the shopping complex houses 157 retail stores, a department store and an MMM Migros supermarket, 8 movie theaters, fast food restaurants, cafeterias, bowling alley and entertainment center. It houses also Capitol Radio, a private radio station broadcasting from the complex. It has an open air and covered parking lot. Several cafes are located in the area around a huge central spring fountain. Capitol Shopping Centre also has a movie theatre which has 14 different parts. It is one of the biggest and most modern movie theatres in Istanbul.

Selamsız is a quarter in Üsküdar district on the Asian side of Istanbul, Turkey. It corresponds more or less to the current officially recognized neighborhoods of Selamiali and Muratreis. These neighborhoods are bounded on the north by Sultantepe, on the north and northeast by İcadiye, on the east by Altunizade, on the south by Valide-i Atik, and on the west by Mimarsinan. The name selamsız means "without a selam" or "not giving a greeting; rude." The name comes from the Sheikh Selami Ali, who gave his name to a mosque, a dervish lodge, a public bath, and a public fountain in the quarter. Selami Ali was called Selamsız because he was known for not looking at or greeting people when he was in public.

Üsküdar American Academy (Turkish: Üsküdar Amerikan Lisesi) is a private coeducational high school located in Üsküdar borough of Istanbul, Turkey. The school was established by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions in 1876. Today, it is owned and administered by the Health and Education Foundation (Sağlık ve Eğitim Vakfı, or SEV) along with other former ABCFM institutions in Turkey.

VakıfBank Sports Palace (Turkish: VakıfBank Spor Sarayı) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Istanbul, Turkey. It has been the home venue of the VakıfBank S.K. since its opening in 2016. The hall has a seating capacity of around 2,900. The arena is situated in the Üsküdar district on the Asian side of Istanbul. The facility was designed specifically for volleyball and includes a main court, training courts, a gym, physiotherapy rooms, semi-olympic swimming pool, fitness center and media areas. It regularly hosts matches in the Turkish Women's Volleyball League and European competitions, including the CEV Women's Champions League.

The Karacaahmet Cemetery (Turkish: Karacaahmet Mezarlığı) is a 700-year-old historic cemetery, located in Üsküdar, the Asian side of Istanbul. Karacaahmet cemetery is the oldest in Istanbul and at 750 acres (3.0 km2), the largest burial ground in Turkey. The cemetery was named after a warrior companion of Orhan I, the second Ottoman sultan and is believed to have been founded in the mid-14th century. It is estimated that over a million people are interred in the non-profit cemetery.Karacaahmet Cemetery comprises 12 parcels, each dedicated to different religious groups. Many historical headstones can still be seen with inscriptions written in the Ottoman Turkish alphabet, a version of the Arabic alphabet. The burial ground is covered by high cypress trees.The shrine of Karaca Ahmet Sultan, a 13th-century physician and saint of Bektashis, a tariqah of Islam, is situated within the cemetery. There are also many other historical tombs and masjids, which is the Arabic word for mosques, built during the Ottoman period. The excavation works in the tunnel for the Marmaray project caused little damage as by June 2007, a dent of 1.5 m diameter and 4 m depth occurred close to the cemetery wall. It was reported that some graves were damaged.

The Chaos Class Museum (Turkish: Hababam Sınıfı Müzesi) was established in 2014 in a room inside the Adile Sultan Pavilion, where the Chaos Class film series was shot. Adile Sultan Pavilion was the location of the film series shot by director Ertem Eğilmez in 1975, 1976 and 1977, and was shown as Private Çamlıca High School (Turkish: Özel Çamlıca Lisesi) in the film. One of the rooms of the mansion was organized as the "Chaos Class Museum" (Turkish: Hababam Sınıfı Müzesi) in 2014. In the museum room, there are school desks, blackboards, stoves and photographs of many actors from the period that was the subject of the film. There are silicone statues of the characters Güdük Necmi played by Halit Akçatepe, Hafize Ana played by Adile Naşit, Mahmut Hoca played by Münir Özkul and İnek Şaban played by Kemal Sunal in the film series Hababam Sınıfı. "6/A Edebiyat" (6/A Literature) is written on the door In front of the blackboard, the human skeleton that İnek Şaban thought was Külyutmaz Hoca in the fourth film of the series is displayed. On the desks in the venue are photographs of writer Rıfat Ilgaz, director Ertem Eğilmez and many actors from Sıtkı Akçatepe to Tarık Akan . On the walls are Hababam Sınıfı movie posters, information about the actors and stills from the movies. In the entrance, author İlhan Selçuk's description of the Chaos Class is written: "It is the classroom of all of us... With its teachers and students... The blackboard, the smell of chalk, the noise of the rascals, the rustle of paper, the creaking of desks, the bitter and sweet memories of school life with its written exams, oral exams, copies, report cards, attendance and make-up exams..." A similar museum was established in 2018 by the Kepez Municipality in the Amir Ateş District Mansion in Antalya and opened to visitors.
