Şakirin Mosque is a mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. The building is located at one of the entrances of Karacaahmet Cemetery in Üsküdar. It was built by the Semiha Şakir Foundation in memory of İbrahim Şakir and Semiha Şakir and opened on 7 May 2009. According to newspaper reports, it is the most carbon-neutral mosque in Turkey.

Yıl Spor Salonu) is a volleyball and indoor beach volley hall situated within the Burhan Felek Sports Complex in the Altunizade neighborhood of Üsküdar district in Istanbul, Turkey. It was re-opened on October 11, 2008. It is owned by the municipality of Kadıköy District and operated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Istanbul Province. The sports hall was built by the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) as an annex to the Burhan Felek Arena replacing two tennis courts. The former volleyball hall was abondened.The arena with an audience capacity of 7,500 hosts national and international volleyball and indoor beach volley events.The men's volleyball team of İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi plays its league matches in TVF 50th Anniversary Sport Hall.

It is owned by the Municipality of Kadıköy District and operated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Istanbul Province.The women's volleyball teams, Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, Fenerbahçe Opet; men's volleyball teams Galatasaray HDI Sigorta and Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta play their league matches.

The Atik Valide Mosque (Turkish: Atik Valide Camii, Eski Valide Camii) is a 16th century Ottoman imperial mosque located on a hill above the large and densely populated district of Üsküdar, in Istanbul, Turkey. It was built for Nurbanu Sultan, the wife of Sultan Selim II and formed part of a large complex that included a madrasa, guest-rooms and a double caravanseray. The mosque was designed by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan. Planning began in 1571 for a small mosque with a single minaret. The mosque was subsequently expanded and was not completed until 1586, three years after Nurbanu's death.

Paşakapısı Prison is a small prison located in Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey. First built in 1799 on orders of the Ottoman sultan Selim III as a hunting palace, the facility was used as a school for nuns between 1918 and 1923. In 1928, it was converted to a prison, which it still is at present day (October 2011). Between 2003 and 2008, it had been exclusively used for housing female prisoners. Today, after female prisoners are moved to another facility in 2008, the building still functions as a prison, allocated, this time, for convicted state employees.Probably a remote and forested place in 1799, location of the prison is now engulfed by the metropolitan Istanbul, to such an extent that it is considered one of the central locations in the city. Also owing to poor city planning, the prison is now circled by residential and other governmental buildings. The daily functions and activities of the prison reportedly cause disturbances in the daily lives of the nearby residents.

Üsküdar (Turkish pronunciation: [ysˈcydaɾ]),is a large and densely populated municipality of Istanbul, Turkey, on the Anatolian shore of the Bosphorus. Üsküdar started life as Chrysopolis (Greek: Χρυσόπολις, 'Golden City') then became known as Scutari (Skoutàrion, Σκουτάριον in Greek), a name it retained until the founding of the Turkish Republic.
