Ponts Mill is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, UK. It is a mile north of St Blazey. Ponts Mill was once a port on the Par River, and as late as 1720, 80 ton seagoing vessels could reach the port.

Fowey Consols mine is a group of mines in the St Blazey district of Cornwall. They were owned by wealthy Cornishman, Joseph Treffry. The mines were worked by 6 steam engines and 17 waterwheels. The mines were linked to the port at Par by a canal. It was one of the deepest, richest and most important copper mines in Cornwall. In 1813, these mines, then called Wheal Treasure, Wheal Fortune, and Wheal Chance, commenced working, and stopped in 1819. In 1822, they were purchased by Treffry, and consolidated under the above title. In 1836, Lanescot mine was added to the Fowey Consols.

St Blazey Association Football Club is an English football club based in St Blazey, Cornwall. They compete in the Western League Premier Division. The club was formed in 1896 as a Junior side, attaining Senior status in 1910. St Blazey were a founding member of the South Western League in 1951, which they competed in until 2007 when the league merged with its Devon equivalent, the Devon County League, to form the South West Peninsula League. The club is recognised as one of the most successful in the county, having won multiple league championships and cup competitions, with their most recent league success coming in the final season of the South Western League in 2007. St Blazey have entered England's most prestigious knockout competition, the FA Cup, in all but one year since 1950. They also enter the FA Vase on a regular basis, having first competed in 1985. The club's traditional colours are green and black. The club's stadium is Blaise Park, which has a capacity of 3,500.

The population at the 2011 census was 4,674.Once an important engineering centre for the local mine and railway industries, the parish is now dominated by the Eden Project. Tywardreath (; Cornish: Ti War Dreth, meaning "House on the Beach" (or Strand)) is a small hilltop village on the south coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, about 3 miles (5 km) north west of Fowey. It is located in a sheltered spot overlooking a silted up estuary opposite Par and near the beach of Par Sands. It is on the Saints' Way path. Tywardreath was featured by Daphne du Maurier in her novel The House on the Strand. Although this was a fictional tale of drug-induced time-travel, the history and geography of the area was carefully researched by du Maurier, who lived in a house called Kilmarth (Cornish: Kilmergh, meaning horses' ridge), 1 mile (2 km) to the south. It also appears in her 1946 novel The King’s General. The seal of the borough of Tywardreath was a Shield of Arms, a saltire between four fleurs-de-lis, with the legend "Tywardreath". The arms are derived from those of the priory: the saltire for St Andrew, the patron of the priory and parish church; the fleur-de-lis for the French mother house at Angers. Tywardreath was recorded in the Domesday Book (1086) when it was one of 28 manors held by Richard from Robert, Count of Mortain. There were 2 hides of land and land for 12 ploughs. One virgate of land was held by Richard with 4 ploughs and 7 serfs; 8 villeins and 18 smallholders had the rest of the land with 3 ploughs. There were 6 acres of woodland and 100 acres of pasture. The manor was valued at £2 though it had formerly been worth £4.Although the civil parish is shown under Tywardreath and Par there is an electoral ward (which also includes Par) shown under the name of Tywardreath only. The population of this ward at the 2011 census was 4,897.

Tywardreath and Par is a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The 2001 UK census recorded that 3,161 people resided in the parish. This increased to 3,192 at the 2011 census.The parish takes its name from its principal villages, Tywardreath and the china clay port of Par. The A390, a primary route, crosses the Northern boundary of the parish at a point 200 m North of Higher Caruggatt. The Cornish Main Line Railway enters the Parish, from the East, at a point 50m N.E. of Little Treverran, it exits the Parish as it crosses the Par River, approximately 750m South of Par Station.
