The Waßmannsdorf station is a stop of the Berlin S-Bahn in Waßmannsdorf in the municipality of Schönefeld on the Grünau Cross–Berlin Brandenburg Airport railway. It was completed in October 2011 and opened on October 26, 2020, five days before Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) opened on October 31, 2020. A railway station already existed in the village from 1951 to 1982. It was not located at the same place and was exclusively a depot (Betriebsbahnhof) on the Berlin outer ring.

Waßmannsdorf is a village and a civil parish (Ortsteil) of the German town of Schönefeld, located in the district of Dahme-Spreewald in Brandenburg. As of 2007 its population was of around 1,000.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt (German: Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg "Willy Brandt", (IATA: BER, ICAO: EDDB), German pronunciation: [beːʔeːˈʔɛɐ̯] (listen)) is an international airport in Schönefeld, just south of the German capital Berlin in the state of Brandenburg. Named after the former West Berlin mayor and West German chancellor Willy Brandt, it is located 18 kilometres (11 mi) south-east of the city centre and serves as a base for easyJet, Eurowings and Ryanair. It mostly has flights to European metropolitan and leisure destinations as well as a number of intercontinental services. The new airport replaced Tempelhof, Schönefeld, and Tegel airports, and became the single commercial airport serving Berlin and the surrounding State of Brandenburg, an area with a combined 6 million inhabitants. With projected annual passenger numbers of around 34 million, Berlin Brandenburg Airport has become the third busiest airport in Germany surpassing Düsseldorf Airport and making it one of the fifteen busiest in Europe. At the time of opening, the airport has a theoretical capacity of 46 million passengers per year. Terminal 1 accounts for 28 million of this, Terminal 2, which did not open until March 24, 2022 due to the pandemic, accounts for six million, and Terminal 5, the terminal buildings of the former Berlin-Schönefeld Airport, accounts for another twelve million. Expansion buildings are planned until 2035 to be able to handle 58 million passengers annually.The airport was originally planned to open in October 2011, five years after starting construction in 2006. However, the project encountered a series of successive delays due to poor construction planning, execution, management, and corruption. Berlin Brandenburg Airport finally received its operational licence in May 2020, and opened for commercial traffic on 31 October 2020, 14 years after construction started and 29 years after official planning was begun. Schönefeld's refurbished passenger facilities were incorporated as Terminal 5 on 25 October 2020 while all other airlines completed the transition from Tegel to Berlin Brandenburg Airport by 8 November 2020.

BER Airport – Terminal 1-2 station (German: Bahnhof Flughafen BER – Terminal 1-2) is a railway station located under the main terminal of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Germany serving its Terminals 1 and 2 while the older BER Airport – Terminal 5 station serves its Terminal 5. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, which provides long-distance and regional connections while S-Bahn Berlin offers suburban lines.

Dahlewitz is a village on the southern outskirts of Berlin, Germany, just north of the Route 10 autobahn. Since October 2003, Dahlewitz has been part of the Blankenfelde-Mahlow municipality, in the district of Teltow-Fläming.

Schönefeld (meaning beautiful field) is a suburban municipality in the Dahme-Spreewald district, Brandenburg, Germany. It borders the southeastern districts of Berlin. The municipal area encompasses the old Berlin Schönefeld Airport (SXF) and the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).

Berlin Schönefeld Airport (Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld ) (formerly IATA: SXF, ICAO: EDDB, ETBS) was the secondary international airport of Berlin, the capital of Germany. It was located 18 km (11 mi) southeast of Berlin near the town of Schönefeld in the state of Brandenburg and bordered Berlin's southern boundary. It was the smaller of the two airports in Berlin, after Berlin Tegel Airport, and served as a base for easyJet and Ryanair. In 2017, the airport handled 12.9 million passengers by serving mainly European metropolitan and leisure destinations. In the same year, the travel portal eDreams ranked Berlin Schönefeld as the worst airport in the world after evaluating 65,000 airport reviews. Schönefeld Airport also was the major civil airport of East Germany (GDR) and the only airport of the former East Berlin. On 25 October 2020 the Schönefeld name and IATA code ceased to exist, marking its closure as an independent airport, with large parts of its infrastructure being incorporated into the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (IATA: BER, ICAO: EDDB) as its Terminal 5 with its sections renamed to K, L, M and Q.

BER Airport – Terminal 5 station (German: Bahnhof Flughafen BER – Terminal 5) (formerly named Berlin Schönefeld Airport station) is a railway station in Schönefeld next to the formerly independent Berlin Schönefeld Airport, which has now been re-branded as Terminal 5 of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, just outside Berlin. The station is on the Grünauer Kreuz–Berlin Brandenburg Airport railway and is served by S-Bahn lines S9 and S45. Since October 2020 the station is no longer served by regional trains.

Blankenfelde station is on the Berlin–Dresden railway in the locality of Blankenfelde in the municipality of Blankenfelde-Mahlow in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the German state of Brandenburg. The station consists of two sections that are structurally separate from each other. One section is located just south of the Karl-Marx-Straße level crossing and consists of an island platform for regional and long-distance services. The other section lies north of Karl-Marx-Straße and is the southern terminus of Berlin S-Bahn line S2. On the official S-Bahn maps its name is styled Blankenfelde (Kr. Teltow-Fläming) to avoid possible confusion with Blankenfelde locality in the Pankow district in northern Berlin.

Dahlewitz (German: Bahnhof Dahlewitz) is a railway station in the town of Dahlewitz, Brandenburg, Germany. The station lies on the Berlin–Dresden railway and the train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn.

Interflug Flight 102 ended in a crash involving an Ilyushin IL 62M on 17 June 1989. The aircraft, while attempting to take off from Berlin Schönefeld Airport, East Germany, crashed into obstacles on the ground at the end of its takeoff, costing 21 lives.

Mahlow station is a station in the town of Mahlow in the municipality of Blankenfelde-Mahlow in the district of Teltow-Fläming in the German state of Brandenburg. It is on the Berlin–Dresden suburban line and is served by Berlin S-Bahn line S2.
