Hollwinkel Wood (German: Hollwinkeler Holz) is a woodland area that lies mainly on the territory of the borough of Preußisch Oldendorf in the North German county of Minden-Lübbecke. Within the wood the terrain is almost entirely level, lying between 50 and 52 metres above sea level (NN). A negligible piece of woodland in the south of only about 0.58 hectares belongs to the town of Lübbecke. With a wooded area of 47 hectares it is the largest stretch of woodland between the Wiehen Hills and the Mittelland Canal within the county of Minden-Lübbecke and also the largest wood in the borough of Preußisch Oldendorf north of the Wiehen, and Egge. In addition there is no woodland anywhere near this size within a radius of 4.5 km (i.e. 63 km2 of the surrounding area). The wood measures around 1.3 km from northeast to southwest and, at its widest point, around 700 metres (2,300 ft) from east to west. Hollwinkel Wood is bounded in the west by the Große Aue river and in the east by the boundary of the borough of Lübbecke. The Mehner Bach stream flows through the wood in the far northeast. In the northwest of the wood is a 0.25 hectare pond with a small island. The wood is almost purely deciduous forest. Around 4 kilometres of walking trails and forest tracks make it a popular recreation area for the surrounding towns and villages. A road crosses the wood from northwest to southeast in its southern region thus enabling it to join the K 80 state road (Kreisstraße) in the west. The importance of this relatively small area of woodland derives from the fact that the county of Minden-Lübbecke is one of the least forested districts in Westphalia, only 10.6% of its area being forested. The Wiehen foothills in particular to the north are intensively farmed and have few large areas of woodland.

The Lübbecke Loessland (German: Lübbecker Lößland) is a natural region that is mainly situated in northeastern North Rhine-Westphalia but with a small area also lying in the western part of Lower Saxony in Germany. It is a belt of land, covered by loess, about 2 to 5 km wide and around 35 km long, that lies just north of the eastern part of the Wiehen Hills. The total area of the region is about 100 km2. The Lübbecke Loessland is a transitional region between the North German Plain and the Central Uplands. To the north it borders on the Rahden-Diepenau Geest and, to the east, on the Middle Weser Valley. The town of Lübbecke lies in the centre of the region.

Obermehnen is a village in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the county of Minden-Lübbecke. The village belongs administratively to the town of Lübbecke. Obermehnen has 1,360 inhabitants and an area of 9.6 km². At around 137 people per km² Obermehnen has the lowest density of all of Lübbeck's districts, not least because 4.3 km², i.e. 45%, of the parish area consists of uninhabited hill forest on the Wiehen Hills. Obermehnen is thus the most wooded part of the borough of Lübbecke.

The Ronceva (also Roncevabach) is a stream that flows through the East Westphalian town of Lübbecke.

The Babilonie is a hillfort of the La Tène culture at a height of 255.6 metres above sea level on the northern edge of a rounded hill in the Wiehen Hills above the Lübbecke village of Obermehnen in the district of Minden-Lübbecke in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The name is derived from the Germanic baben in the lon i.e. "up in the woods". The wedge-shaped, double-rampart system, which descends from south to north with the slope, was investigated archaeologically in the first half of the last century, especially by Friedrich Langewiesche, who assessed it as a refuge castle. Ceramic and even metalwork finds indicate that it belongs to the La Tène culture in the pre-Roman Iron Age, e vorrömische Eisenzeit, therefore probably part of an extensive trading network. The fortification has an area of over 12 hectares. The first mapping of this hilltop, which was exceptionally well-suited to the establishment of a large hillfort with its spring high up the hills, was carried out after 1880.Ceramic finds from the Saxon-Frankish period have also been discovered. According to Paul Höfer there is a legend that refers to Wittekind.

Großer Auesee is a lake in Kreis Minden-Lübbecke, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. At an elevation of 45 m, its surface area is 4.5 ha.

The present-day Evangelical-Lutheran parish church of St. Andrew (St. Andreas) in Lübbecke is one of the ancient parishes (Urpfarreien) of the Bishopric of Minden.

Lübbecke ([ˈlʏbəkə] ; Westphalian: Lübke) is a town in northeast North Rhine-Westphalia in north Germany. This former county town lies on the northern slopes of the Wiehen Hills (Wiehengebirge) and has around 26,000 inhabitants. The town is part of district of Minden-Lübbecke within the Regierungsbezirk of Detmold in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region. Lübbecke was first mentioned in the records in 775 as hlidbeki and was given town rights in 1279.

The Ernst Barre Private Brewery (German: Privatbrauerei Ernst Barre GmbH) is a brewery in the East Westphalian town of Lübbecke in the north-western German district of Minden-Lübbecke. It was founded by Ernst Johann Barre in 1842. Along with its immediate competitor, the Herforder Brauerei, it is one of the largest breweries in East Westphalia (based on beer production), and is thus of regional importance. The brewery is located at the southern end of the pass over the Wiehen Hills (Bundesstrasse 239) between Lübbecke and Hüllhorst, at the base of the Reineberg hill, and has been in the same family for generations.

The Mehner Bach, also called the Obermehner Mühlenbach or just the Mühlenbach, is a 9.0 kilometre long stream, that mainly flows through the East Westphalian borough of Lübbecke but also through Preußisch Oldendorf. It forms the longitudinal axis of the former parish of Blasheim, on which the farms and mills of the Mehner Dorf are situated.

Kahle Wart is an open-air theatre in Oberbauerschaft (part of Hüllhorst), North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. They act plays in German and Low German. Three plays are performed each year: a High German play (beginning of June to mid-July), a Low German play (mid-July to end of August) and – since 2017 – also a family play. The theatre is named after the summit Kahlewart of the Wiehen Hills. The Wittekindsweg, which leads from Osnabrück to Porta Westfalica and has a length of about 95 kilometres, runs across the site.

The Wartturm ("watchtower") is an observation tower in the Wiehen Hills on the Wurzelbrink, a wooded hill that, at 319 metres, is the second highest in this hill range. The tower stands on the territory of the town of Lübbecke. The stone tower was built in 1857 by the barons (Freiherrn) of Bussche-Münch from Benkhausen and was completely renovated in 1996. The tower was erected in response to the increasing gymnastics and hiking movement in Germany at that time. During the Nazi era and the Second World War the tower acted for a time as a training area for the Hitler Youth as well as an observation point, for which purpose it had been increased in height by the addition of a wooden superstructure. In 1986 a radio competition took place at the Wartturm. In the early to mid-1980s a very high transmission mast stood next to the tower, that was significantly higher than the tower itself and, unlike the Wartturm, could be clearly seen from Lübbecke. The uninformed often say that the tower is linked to the medieval castle of Reineberg because of its castle-like appearance but are then often surprised to find that it is a product of the Modern Age.The Wartturm has since become the landmark of the traditional Wartturm Run (Wartturmlauf). This fun run takes place annually in June, beginning in the centre Lübbecke, is 13.9 kilometres long and climbs a total height of 346 metres.
