Hegra Church

Hegra is a village in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located in the Stjørdalen valley, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) east of the town of Stjørdalshalsen along the Stjørdalselva river. The 0.66-square-kilometre (160-acre) village has a population (2024) of 971 and a population density of 1,471 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,810/sq mi). The village is served by the unstaffed Hegra Station on the Meråker Line. The European route E14 highway also runs through the village, just south of Hegra Church. Hegra has its own grocery store, gas station, kindergarten, school and a local bank. Hegra is also one of the centers for the resurgence of the Dole Gudbrandsdal horse in Norway.

The municipality was located in the Stjørdalen valley. It encompassed the eastern two-thirds of the what is now Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was the village of Hegra where the Hegra Church is located. Prior to its dissolution in 1962, the 612.4-square-kilometre (236.4 sq mi) municipality was the 159th largest by area out of the 731 municipalities in Norway. Hegra Municipality was the 337th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of about 2,762. The municipality's population density was 4.5 inhabitants per square kilometre (12/sq mi) and its population had decreased by 1.5% over the previous 10-year period.

Hegra Station (Norwegian: Hegra stasjon) is a railway station on the Meråker Line in the village of Hegra in the Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The station was opened on 17 October 1881 as Hegre. It received the current name on 1 June 1919, and has been unstaffed since 1 March 1971. It is served twice a day in each direction by SJ Norge. The station is located about 42 kilometres (26 mi) from Trondheim and it sits at an elevation of 18.2 metres (60 ft) above sea level.

Skjelstadmarka is a village in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the central part of the municipality, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northeast of the town of Stjørdalshalsen, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north of the village of Hegra, and about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) east of the mountain Forbordsfjellet. The village is the location of Okkelberg Chapel.

It is one of the churches for the Hegra parish which is part of the Stjørdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1905 using plans drawn up by the architect Ole Andresen. The church seats about 200 people.

The municipality covered the whole Stjørdalen valley in what is now Stjørdal Municipality and Meråker Municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was located at Værnes where Værnes Church is located.

It is located along the Stjørdalselva river in the central part of the municipality, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) southeast of the town of Stjørdalshalsen. The village is the location of Værnes Church. The 0.2-square-kilometre (49-acre) village has a population (2024) of 391 and a population density of 1,955 inhabitants per square kilometre (5,060/sq mi).

Værnes Church (Norwegian: Værnes kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located just south of the town of Stjørdalshalsen, along the Stjørdalselva river, and just east of the Trondheim Airport, Værnes. It is the church for the Stjørdal parish which is also the seat of the Stjørdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, stone church was built in a long church style in five stages from 1130 until 1190 by using plans drawn up by unknown architect. The church seats about 370 people.

It is located in the western part of the municipality, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) southeast of the town of Stjørdalshalsen and just northeast of the Stjørdalselva river delta. The village of Hell lies to the south and the village of Prestmoen lies to the east. The area is the site of Trondheim Airport, Værnes, Trondheim Airport Station, Værnes Air Station, and the 12th-century Værnes Church.

The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1901 using plans drawn up by the architect Ole Røising. The church seats about 200 people.

The administrative centre was located in the village of Hell. The famous Hell Station in the village of Hell is situated in the westernmost part of Lånke. There are two churches in Lånke: Lånke Church and Elvran Chapel. Historically, this parish was also known as Leksdal. Lånke is an area dominated by agriculture and forests. Prior to its dissolution in 1962, the 185.4-square-kilometre (71.6 sq mi) municipality was the 400th largest by area out of the 731 municipalities in Norway. Lånke Municipality was the 458th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of about 1,976. The municipality's population density was 10.7 inhabitants per square kilometre (28/sq mi) and its population had increased by 8.6% over the previous 10-year period.

Stjørdal Church (Norwegian: Stjørdal kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the town of Stjørdalshalsen. It is one of the churches for the Stjørdal parish which is part of the Stjørdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The modern, stone church was built in a rectangular design in 2015 using plans drawn up by the architect Kai Rune Bakke. The church seats about 240 people.
