Lady Bird Lake (formerly, and still colloquially referred to as Town Lake) is a river-like reservoir on the Colorado River in Austin, Texas, United States. The City of Austin created the reservoir in 1960 as a cooling pond for a new city power plant. The lake, which has a surface area of 416 acres (168 ha), is now used primarily for recreation and flood control. The reservoir is named in honor of former First Lady of the United States Lady Bird Johnson.Lady Bird Lake is the easternmost lake of a chain of reservoirs on the river, which is completely located in Texas, and should not be confused with the larger Colorado River located in the Southwestern United States. This chain, known locally as the Texas Highland Lakes, also includes Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Lake Travis, and Lake Austin.

KTSN (1490 AM) is a radio station licensed to Austin, Texas. While KTSN is commercially licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), it is the flagship station of the non-commercial listener-supported "Sun Radio Network" and does not air advertisements. The station is owned by Daryl O'Neal, CEO of Township Media DBA The Sun Radio Network. The network airs a mix of adult album alternative and Americana music, along with other genres such as progressive country, blues and folk music. KTSN is the oldest radio station in Austin still on the air today. It transmits with 1,000 watts, with its transmitter on Tillery Street at East 4th Street in Austin. The studios and offices are in the Hill Country Galleria Mall on Hill Country Boulevard at State Highway 71 in Bee Cave. The station holds periodic fundraisers on the air to support Sun Radio.

The University of Texas-University Charter School is a charter school operated by the University of Texas at Austin, serving about 500 students from kindergarten to 12th grade on twenty-three campuses across Texas.

Joe's Bakery and Coffee Shop is a Mexican restaurant in Austin, Texas, United States. Established in 1962, the business was named one of "America's Classics" by the James Beard Foundation in 2023.

Huston–Tillotson University (HT) is a private historically black university in Austin, Texas. Established in 1875, Huston–Tillotson University was the first institution of higher learning in Austin. The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the United Negro College Fund. Huston–Tillotson University awards bachelor's degrees in business, education, the humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, science, and technology and a master's degree in educational leadership. The university also offers alternative teacher certification and academic programs for undergraduates interested in pursuing post-graduate degrees in law and medicine.

The Anthony and Louise Viaer Alumni Hall, formerly the Administration Building, is a building on the campus of Huston–Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, United States. Constructed in 1914 in the Prairie School style, it was built of bricks manufactured by Huston–Tillotson students.: 17 The building was named after Anthony E. Viaer, an alumnus of the Class of 1958 who gave a $1 million scholarship opportunity to university students.The building was first nominated for National Register listing in 1986, but was not then listed, due to owner objection.: 24  It was listed in 1993.

East Riverside-Oltorf is a neighborhood in Austin, Texas, located southeast of the city's urban core. The East Riverside, Parker Lane, and Pleasant Valley neighborhoods together form the East Riverside-Oltorf Combined Neighborhood Planning Area. The region is bounded on the north by Lake Lady Bird, to the east by Grove Boulevard and the Montopolis neighborhood, Texas State Highway 71 to the south, and Interstate 35 and South River City to the west. East Riverside Drive is a highly traveled roadway located a few minutes from Downtown Austin, but was until recently a neglected area of Austin. In addition to being a primary route between Downtown Austin and the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, the City of Austin has deemed it an important corridor for development. Recently there has been significant interest in the redevelopment of several large properties in the area.

Plaza Saltillo is a Capital MetroRail commuter rail station in Austin, Texas. It is located in East Austin at the corner of Fifth and Comal Street adjacent to the Plaza Saltillo complex which, in turn, was built in 1998 as a result of a collaborative effort between the city of Austin, the city of Saltillo (a sister city of Austin), Capital Metro and Ole Mexico, an east Austin cultural group. To smoothly incorporate the station in the existing plaza layout and still ensure ADA accessibility, the platform was built with a unique "split ramp" layout, with two high-level sections split by a pair of wheelchair ramps. Railcars stop with their doors aligned with the high-level platform sections, providing level access. With Project Connect, the Green Line will also stop at this station.

The Boardwalk at Lady Bird Lake is a boardwalk along Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, United States. Construction on the $28 million project was completed during October 2012 – June 2014. Artist Ken Little's art installation Belting It Out was commissioned for the boardwalk and features 36 cast bronze belts displaying lyrics by Texas singers and songwriters. Condé Nast Traveler says, "This section of the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail finally links the entire whole together. Take the time to enjoy a different perspective of Austin from the many viewing areas." The boardwalk begins near the Austin American-Statesman on East Riverside.

Eastside Early College High School (formerly Johnston High School, Eastside Memorial High School) is located in Austin, Texas. It is a part of the Austin Independent School District (AISD).

The Acton School of Business is a school for entrepreneurship located in Austin, Texas. Offering a full-time program, the school is based on experiential learning. Students analyze business case studies and participate in simulations, such as building real assembly lines and selling products door to door.Acton originally offered an accelerated MBA program in Austin from 2002 to 2019. The school was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs through Hardin-Simmons University. Due to funding cuts at Hardin-Simmons, Acton lost its accreditation with SACS and closed its Austin campus, but reopened in Madrid, Spain, and is accredited though Universidad Francisco Marroquin. It has maintained its one year, 100 hour week course model and all classes are taught in English.

Albert Sidney Johnston is a memorial statue of General Albert Sidney Johnston by German American sculptor Elisabet Ney. The piece is a life-size recumbent male figure rendered in marble sculpture. It depicts the General at the time of his death in the Battle of Shiloh during the American Civil War. Completed in 1903, the piece resides atop Johnston's tomb in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, Texas, where it was installed in 1905.
