Boyd Mill Ruins is a property in Franklin, Tennessee that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The mill was built in the early 19th century, powered by the West Harpeth River. The mill was used to produce flour and corn mill for area farmers for more than 50 years. It was one of about a dozen water-powered mills in the county in the 19th century. Around 1900, the mill ceased operation, and was left to fall into ruins. The stone foundations and turbine pit are more intact than any other former mill buildings in the county, providing the best example of the importance of the milling industry within 19th century commerce.The W.A. Boyd farm was one of the larger farms/plantations in Williamson County before and after the American Civil War. After the war, many of these were reduced in size, but the Boyd farm, which included the Boyd Mill had 528 acres.The 157 acre Boyd-Wilson Farm, a century farm that is now also NRHP-listed, includes the Boyd Mill Ruins.

The William Boyd House, also known as All Bright Hill, is a c. 1800 double-pen house in Franklin, Tennessee, United States.The W.A. Boyd farm was one of the largest farms or plantations in Williamson County both before and after the American Civil War. After the war, many of these were reduced in size, but the Boyd farm, which included the Boyd Mill and the William Boyd House had 528 acres (214 ha). The house was of log cabin type but was expanded with a two-story colonnade.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. When listed the property included one contributing building and one non-contributing structure on 1 acre (0.40 ha).This house is one of five log buildings built during 1798 to 1800, during the earliest settling of the area, which survive to today. Others, also NRHP-listed, are: the William Ogilvie House, the David McEwen House, the Daniel McMahan House, and the Andrew Crockett House.

Leiper's Fork (also spelled Leipers Fork) is an unincorporated rural village in Williamson County, Tennessee. It has a population of about 650 on an area of about 1,100 acres (450 ha). Most of the village shares a ZIP code with Franklin. The village, located on the Natchez Trace Parkway, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an historic district.

The Boyd–Wilson Farm is a 157-acre (64 ha) historic district in Franklin, Tennessee, United States. The circa 1840 farm includes an I-house.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. When listed, it included six contributing buildings, two contributing structures, one contributing site and two non-contributing buildings.The farm's west edge is the West Harpeth River. The property includes the historic Boyd Mill Ruins (separately listed on the National Register).The farmhouse's north, two-story facade was built c.1884 and is of heavy braced frame construction. It has a central hallway and chimneys at its gable ends in what is called an I-house. The chimneys, originally limestone, were modified c.1920 to include brick. It has a two-story portico with four square columns built in 1976 which replaced a one-story portico from c.1884.It was deemed notable as "one of the few historic farms in Williamson County to retain its agricultural integrity from a period in the county's history when agriculture was the basis of prosperity."It is a designated Century Farm. Leipers Fork Historic District is a 18-acre (7.3 ha) historic district in Leipers Fork, Tennessee that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The area has also been known as Benton Town and as Hillsboro.It includes Queen Anne and Bungalow/Craftsman architecture.When listed, the district included 54 contributing buildings and 21 non-contributing buildings. The eligibility of the property for NRHP listing was addressed in a 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources.

The John Hunter House, also known as McCullough House, near Franklin, Tennessee is an Italianate style house that was built in 1875. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1988.The NRHP eligibility of this property and others was covered in a 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources. The house was one of relatively few fine brick residences built in Williamson County, Tennessee, besides in Franklin, that were built from 1865 to 1937. Another one, also in Italianate style, is the Andrew Vaughn House, also NRHP-listed. Both "feature arched fenestration and ornate eaves" and had had few changes since, as of the 1988 study.The house was built or has other significance in c. 1875, c. 1890, and c. 1910.The NRHP listing was for an area of 2.8 acres (1.1 ha) with just one contributing building.

The Samuel S. Morton House is a property in Franklin, Tennessee that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It has also been known as Lillie House.The listing included three contributing buildings and one contributing structure on 3.4 acres (1.4 ha).The property's eligibility for NRHP listing was covered in a 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources.

The Hamilton-Brown House, in Franklin, Tennessee, also known as the Elijah Hamilton House or as Cottonwood, is a historic two-story brick house that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.It was built between 1792 and c.1800, making it one of the very oldest houses in Williamson County. It originally had a hall-and-parlor plan. A brick one-story east wing was extended in c. 1850 and c. 1940. A one-story brick and log north wing was extended from the east wing in c.1960 and c.1997. When listed the property included four contributing buildings and two contributing sites on an area of 5 acres (2.0 ha).The property is denoted as Williamson County historic resource WM-56.

The H. G. W. Mayberry House, also known as Beechwood Hall, is a historic antebellum plantation house built in 1856 in Franklin, Tennessee.

The Claiborne Kinnard House is a property in Franklin, Tennessee, United States, that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It has also been known as Fairview. It was built c. 1850. A 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources assessed that this house was one of the "best two-story vernacular I-House examples" in the county; the others highly rated were the William King House, the Alpheus Truett House, the Thomas Brown House, the Beverly Toon House, and the Stokely Davis House.

The Forest Hills School in Franklin, Tennessee was built in 1907. Along with Liberty School and Liberty Hill School, it is one of the three best surviving examples in Williamson County of one room schoolhouses built during 1900–1920. While most of these schools have been lost, they once provided the majority of public education in the county.: 46 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.The property is denoted WM-670 among Williamson County's historic resources.

The Knights of Pythias Pavilion in Franklin, Tennessee, also known as Carlisle House, is a Classical Revival architecture building designed by Henry Gibel and built in 1897. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. According to a 1988 study of Williamson County historical resources, conducted by staff of the Tennessee Historical Commission:An unusual addition to the county's architecture in the 1890s was the Knights of Pythias Pavilion which was moved to a hill west of Franklin (WM-996). The pavilion was originally located on the grounds of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition in Nashville which was held in 1897. It was purchased after the exposition and moved by wagon to its present location off Highway 96. The building is of Neo-Classical design and features a prominent red dome. (page 31) Later the same study describes again:One of the most significant frame residences in the county is the Knights of Pythias Pavilion (WM-996) which was originally constructed in Nashville for the 1897 Centennial Exposition. The pavilion was part of the Centennial complex and after the Exposition came to an end it was purchased and moved to Williamson County. The house has Colonial Revival detailing and a prominent central projecting dome. The house has not been altered and is one of the most unusual designs in the county. (page 43)
