Bacon's College is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Rotherhithe, London, England. It was previously a City Technology College, but officially changed to academy status in 2007.

Rotherhithe ( RODH-ər-hydhe) is a district of south-east London, England, and part of the London Borough of Southwark. It is on a peninsula on the south bank of the Thames, facing Wapping, Shadwell and Limehouse on the north bank, with the Isle of Dogs to the east. It borders Bermondsey to the west and Deptford to the south-east. The district is a part of the Docklands area. Rotherhithe has a long history as a port, with Elizabethan shipyards and working docks until the 1970s. In the 1980s, the area along the river was redeveloped as housing through a mix of warehouse conversions and new-build developments. The Jubilee line was extended to the area in 1999, giving fast connections to the West End and to Canary Wharf; the East London underground line was converted to part of the London Overground network in 2010, which provides easy access to the City of London. As a result, Rotherhithe is now a gentrifying residential and commuter area, with urban regeneration progressing around Deal Porter Square at Canada Water; a new town centre with restaurant and retail units, as well as new residential developments, is emerging here around the existing freshwater dock and transport hub. Rotherhithe is 4.5 km (2.8 mi) east of London's centre point.

Lavender Pond is a 2.5 acre local nature reserve in Rotherhithe in the London Borough of Southwark. It is owned by Southwark Council and managed by The Conservation Volunteers. The nature reserve has an area of woodland as well as the pond.

Surrey Docks Farm is a working city farm in the heart of London. It occupies a 2.2-acre (8,900 m2) site on the south bank of the River Thames in Rotherhithe.

Bermondsey Town Football Club is a football club based in Rotherhithe, England. They are currently members of the Southern Counties East Football League First Division and play at St Paul's Sports Ground, groundsharing with Fisher.

Fisher Football Club is a football club based in Rotherhithe, Southwark, England. The club was established in 2009 after Fisher Athletic folded. Affiliated to the London Football Association, they are currently members of the Southern Counties East League Premier Division and play at the St Paul's Sports Ground.

Rotherhithe Street is a road in the London Borough of Southwark on the Thames Path. At a length of around 1.5 miles (2.4 km), it is the longest street in London. Notable buildings on the street include the Grade II* listed Nelson House, St Mary's Church, Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks Farm.

The Surrey Commercial Docks were a large group of docks in Rotherhithe, South East London, located on the south bank (the Surrey side) of the River Thames. The docks operated in one form or another from 1696 to 1969. Most were subsequently filled in and redeveloped for residential housing, and the area is now known as Surrey Quays, although the name Surrey Docks is retained for the electoral ward.

Printworks was a nightclub and events venue in Rotherhithe, South London, located in the former Harmsworth Quays printing plant, which printed newspapers including the Daily Mail and Evening Standard until 2012.Some features of the printing plant were retained including the van loading dock and metal stairs, creating an industrial feel in the club. The premises had an overall capacity of 6,000 people across two performance rooms: the Press Halls and Inkwells (formerly known as the Darkroom). The site was also available for hire and was used for events, movies and commercials.

Nelson House, also known as Nelson Dock House, is a Grade II* listed building on Rotherhithe Street in the London Borough of Southwark. The house was built in the 1740s in the Georgian style and was historically home to shipbuilders including John Randall. The house is named after Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson.

The Condemned Hole was a site in Rotherhithe on the River Thames occupied by HM Customs and Excise for the collection of flotsam and jetsam and ships which had been seized for contraband activities. It was closed in 1962. It was one of a number of sites known as the King or Queen's Pipe on account of the burning of condemned tobacco and food, illicit books and other contraband on the site.Writing in the 1930s, A G Linney described its entrance as "an inconspicuous door in an inconspicuous and wholly dismal little street in Rotherhithe".
