Mill Road Cemetery, Cambridge

Mill Road is a street in southeast Cambridge, England. It runs southeast from near to Parker's Piece, at the junction with Gonville Place, East Road, and Parkside. It crosses the main railway line and links to the city's ring road (the A1134). It passes through the wards of Petersfield and Romsey, which are divided by the railway line. It is a busy street containing many independent businesses, churches, a Hindu temple and Cambridge Central Mosque. Near the northwestern end to the south in Mortimer Road off Mill Road is Hughes Hall. Behind Hughes Hall is Fenner's, the cricket ground of the University of Cambridge, which has hosted first-class cricket since 1848. To the north is Anglia Ruskin University, formerly Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology (CCAT).

The University Ground was a cricket ground in Barnwell, a suburb in northeast Cambridge, England. The ground was located off Mill Road and served as the University of Cambridge's main ground from 1821 to 1830. It was surrounded on three sides by open countryside and on one side by the New Barnwell Church. Today the ground no longer exists, with the vast majority of it becoming the Mill Road Cemetery in 1847.

The David Parr House is a preserved terraced house in Cambridge, with interior decoration in the Arts and Crafts style, executed by its owner, David Parr, between 1886 and 1926. The house is open to the public for guided tours in small groups.David Parr was a working-class Victorian decorative artist who worked for the Cambridge firm of F. R. Leach & Sons. The firm was a contractor to leading Arts and Crafts and Gothic Revival architects and designers, and Parr worked on projects for clients such as George Frederick Bodley, William Morris and Charles Eamer Kempe. In 1886 Parr purchased 186 Gwydir Street, a terraced house off Mill Road in Cambridge. Over 40 years he decorated his own home in the style of the notable interiors he worked on for his employers. After Parr's death in 1927 his widow, and later his granddaughter, preserved the house interiors over the next 87 years. In 2014 the house was purchased by a charity established to ensure its continued preservation, and a major conservation programme was undertaken. The house opened to the public in May 2019 and became a Grade II* listed building in 2020. At the same time, Leach's showroom at 3 St Mary's Passage was listed Grade II.

Covent Garden is a street in Cambridge, England, off Mill Road and near The Kite district. The street takes its name from the London market of the same name as there used to be a market garden there.The street has one pub The Six Bells, where cricketer Israel Haggis was landlord from 1837 to 1844.

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a public university in East Anglia, United Kingdom. Its origins are in the Cambridge School of Art, founded by William John Beamont, a Fellow of Trinity College at University of Cambridge, in 1858. It became a university in 1992, and was renamed after John Ruskin, the Oxford University professor and author, in 2005. Ruskin gave the inauguration speech of the Cambridge School of Art in 1858. It is one of the "post-1992 universities". The motto of the university is in Latin Excellentia per societatem, in English Excellence through partnership.In 2022, Anglia Ruskin had 35,195 students. ARU has five campuses across the south-eastern portion of the United Kingdom.There are four faculties of study at the university, namely: Faculty of Business and Law Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine & Social Care Faculty of Science & Engineering.

Cambridge 105 Radio is the Ofcom regulated community radio station for the city of Cambridge based on Gwydir Street Enterprise Centre. The station broadcasts across the City and South Cambridgeshire on 105 FM, on its website https://cambridge105.co.uk/ and on DAB Digital Radio seven days a week.

Hughes Hall is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge in England. It is the oldest of the University of Cambridge's postgraduate colleges. The college also admits undergraduates, though undergraduates admitted by the college must be aged 21 or over. There is no age requirement for postgraduate students. The majority of Hughes Hall students are postgraduate, although nearly one-fifth of the student population comprises individuals aged 21 and above who are studying undergraduate degree courses at the university. Hughes Hall was founded in the 19th century as the Cambridge Training College for Women with the purpose of providing a college of the university dedicated to training women graduates for the teaching profession. Since then it has enlarged and expanded to support a community of students and researchers, both male and female, working in all the academic domains encompassed by the University of Cambridge. The college is housed in a number of 19th- and 20th-century buildings at a main site adjacent to Fenner's, the Cambridge University Cricket Club ground, and between the City Centre and the railway station.

St Matthew's Primary School is a 3–11 mixed community primary school in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. It is non-denominational, and catering for 615 pupils with an affiliated after-school kids’ club. The school was established in 1963, though there have been various schools on the site since 1836. It is a feeder school for Parkside Community College.

Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1881, seven years before the Lawn Tennis Association of Great Britain was founded. Although it is called a 'club', it is actually the lawn tennis association of the whole of the University of Cambridge, representing the university as a whole, the thirty-one Colleges, and other institutions which are part of the university. CULTC is directly affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association of Great Britain and has a representative on the council and on the Board of the Association. The President and former Chairman of the club, Sir Geoffrey Cass, was president of the Lawn Tennis Association and Chairman of the L.T.A. Council 1997–1999. He is currently president of the British Tennis Foundation.The university and Colleges give considerable support to British tennis by making available their administrative and playing facilities. CULTC regularly arranges for County Week groups to be held on College grounds. The university's annual fixture list is one of the strongest in Britain. It usually includes matches against many different countries, as well as several of Britain's leading lawn tennis clubs; also half-a-dozen universities, and a dozen other clubs and teams. Most of the club's annual fixtures are home matches, which means that in a typical year nearly 30 tennis teams from all over Britain are entertained for a day in Cambridge at Fenner's.

East Road is a dual-carriageway road in the east of Cambridge, England. It is designated the A603 and forms part of Cambridge's inner ring road. The southwest end of East Road is next to Parker's Piece, at the junction with Parkside, Mill Road, and Gonville Place. At the northeast end there is a roundabout that links with Elizabeth Way (part of the A1134, continuing the inner ring road north) and Newmarket Road (also part of the A1134, leading east out of the city). The Cambridge campus of Anglia Ruskin University is on East Road, north of Mill Road. The Ruskin Gallery, open to the public, is part of the Cambridge School of Art on the Anglia Ruskin University East Road campus.The Cambridge County Court is on East Road. The distinctively round Cambridge Crown Court is also on East Road, at No 83, since 2004.

The Cambridge Centre for Sixth-form Studies (CCSS) was an independent sixth-form college for boarding and day students aged 15 to 19. The college, which was founded in 1980, owned teaching and residential accommodation in the centre of Cambridge, England. It became part of the Stephen Perse Foundation in September 2018 and disappeared as a branded college in March 2020.
