Sabunchu district (formerly: Lenin district) is a district of Baku city.

Sabunçu (also, Sabunchi and Sabunchy, Azeri for "soapmaker") is a settlement and municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 22,344.

Bakıxanov (Bakikhanov) is a settlement and municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was named after Abbasgulu Bakikhanov and has a population of 71,600. It contains a mosque and a public park. On the eastern side of the town is Bulbula Lake. Sabunchu lies near northwestern Bakıxanov. Prior to 1992, it was known as Stepan Razin, named for the Cossack uprising leader Stepan Razin.

The Absheron Peninsula (Azerbaijani: Abşeron yarımadası) is a peninsula in Azerbaijan. It is the location of Baku, the biggest and the most populous city of the country, and also the Baku metropolitan area, with its satellite cities Sumqayit and Khyrdalan. There are three districts, of which two are urban (Baku and Sumqayit) and one is suburban (Absheron Rayon). It extends 60 km (37 mi) eastward into the Caspian Sea, and reaches a maximum width of 30 km (19 mi). Though technically the easternmost extension of the Caucasus Mountains, the landscape is only mildly hilly, a gently undulating plain that ends in a long spit of sand dunes known as Shah Dili, and now declared the Absheron National Park. In this part, the peninsula is dissected by ravines and characterized by frequent salt lakes.

Bulbula (Azerbaijani: Bülbülə) is a lake in Azerbaijan, located on the Absheron Peninsula, between the villages of Bakikhanov and Amirjan at an altitude of 8 m above sea level.According to its genesis, the lake Bulbula belongs to a tectonic group. The concentration of total nitrogen in the bottom sediments of the lake averages 0.18 mg/100 g.The lake mirror area is 0.7 km2, the maximum width is 360 m, the maximum depth is 1.5 m, the average depth is 1.1 m, and the length of the coastline is 6 km.

Əmircan (also, Amirabdzhan, Amiradzhan, Amiradzhany, Amircan, Amirdžan, Amirjan, and Amirdzhan) is a municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 28,203.

Ramana Tower (Azerbaijani: Ramana qalası) – is a historical architectural monument located in the Ramana village of the Sabunchu district in Baku. The palace has been registered as a monument of global significance by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Republic. In 2001, along with other defensive structures of the Absheron Peninsula, Ramana Fortress was included in.Built by order of the Shirvanshahs, the palace dates back to the 14th century according to historical records. Some researchers, however, suggest that the construction of the palace may belong to the 12th century. The internal courtyard of the palace measures 28x10 meters. Its external walls are fortified with rounded corner towers placed along the walls. The entrance to Ramana Fortress is situated within a defensive courtyard. Unlike the characteristic three-tiered shape for circular towers, the square-shaped tower of Ramana Palace is divided into four tiers.

Bona Dea International Hospital opened in 27 March 2018 in Baku, Azerbaijan. It consists of seven floors, with an area of 37,500 m². The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2015 European Games was the official opening ceremony held in the afternoon at 9:00PM Azerbaijan Time (GMT+4) on June 12, 2015 in the Baku Olympic Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, the Vice President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, and the President of the European Olympic Committee Patrick Hickey.The ceremony was attended by 68,000 spectators gathered at the Olympic Stadium, as well as hundreds of millions of online viewers. More than 300 creative teams from 28 countries were involved in organizing the ceremony. The cost of organizing of the ceremony was about 100 million U.S. dollars. The opening ceremony was directed by artistic choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou who was praised for his work during 2004 Summer Olympics.

Baku Olympic Stadium (Azerbaijani: Bakı Olimpiya Stadionu), is a stadium, designed and constructed to meet the international standards for stadiums set by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It is the largest stadium in Azerbaijan. Construction of the 225,000-square-meter stadium on a 650,000-square-meter site was completed in February 2015. The six-storey, 65.7 meter structure near Boyukshor Lake, Baku, Azerbaijan, opened on 6 March 2015. The main tenant of the stadium is Azerbaijan's national football team, who moved from their previous home at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. In June 2015 the stadium served as the main venue for the European Games, hosting the opening and closing ceremonies, and the athletic games. The venue hosted three group games and a quarterfinal at the UEFA Euro 2020. A green area is being developed around the stadium, which is accessible via public transport.

Nizamaddin Mosque is a 14th-century mosque located in the Amirjan settlement of Baku, Azerbaijan. After Azerbaijan regained its independence, the building was included in the list of the country's significant immovable historical and cultural monuments by the decision numbered 132 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on August 2, 2001.
