Charny is a district (secteur) within the Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Est borough of the city of Lévis, Quebec. It is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, south of Quebec City. Formerly an independent city, Charny was merged with Lévis on January 1, 2002.

Charny station is a Via Rail station in Lévis, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 2326 rue de la Gare in the borough of Charny. It is staffed and is wheelchair-accessible. The station is served by one train per day in each direction on the Montreal–Quebec line Corridor service. The station was once a stop on the Montreal–Gaspé train until 2013, and the Ocean until 2014, when that service moved its local stop to Sainte-Foy station.

On the morning of February 17, 2008, Marilyn Bergeron (born December 21, 1983) left her family's home in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, for what she said was a walk. She did not return. An automated teller machine (ATM) security camera in Loretteville recorded her attempting to withdraw money early in the afternoon; she was last seen almost five hours after leaving home at a coffee shop in Saint-Romuald. Many sightings of her have been reported since then, especially in areas of Ontario just outside Quebec, but none have been confirmed. Quebec City police (SPVQ), who continue to investigate, have theorized that Bergeron committed suicide. Her family, who has put up a reward for information leading to the resolution of the case, believes she may have instead met with foul play. Shortly before her disappearance she had moved back to Quebec City from Montreal, where she told her parents, without being specific, that something had happened there and she no longer felt safe living on her own.Due to this, and the jurisdictional limitations of the SPVQ, the family has repeatedly petitioned the provincial Ministry of Public Security to order the case file transferred to either the Montreal police or the Sûreté du Québec, both of whom they feel could make more progress; the request has been refused. As a result, they have retained former provincial justice minister Marc Bellemare to press their case. Crime journalist Claude Poirier has also devoted an episode of his Historia series Poirier Enquête to the case. In 2017, a friend who knew Bergeron in Montreal confirmed that she had grown increasingly fearful and reclusive there in the two months before her disappearance. He said he had asked her if she had been raped or witnessed a crime. She said what had happened to her was "worse" than that, but refused to elaborate.

Chaudière Falls (French: Chutes de la Chaudière) is a 35-meter-high (115 ft) waterfall in Lévis, Quebec along the Chaudière River. It is part of the regional Parc des Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, which features a 113-metre-long (371 ft) suspension footbridge standing 23 metres over the river. There are walking and bicycle trails along the river.

The Chaudière River (French for "Cauldron" or "Boiler"; Abenaki: Kik8ntekw) is a 185-kilometre-long (115 mi) river with its source near the Town of Lac-Mégantic, in southeast Quebec, Canada. From its source Lake Mégantic in the Estrie region, it runs northwards to flow into the St. Lawrence River opposite Quebec City.

Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière was a former regional county municipality and census division in Quebec. It and Desjardins Regional County Municipality were formed from the division of Lévis County in the 1980s. It ceased to exist when most of it, along with most of Desjardins RCM, amalgamated into the expanded city of Lévis on January 1, 2002.

The Beaurivage River is a tributary of the Chaudière River which in turn flows into the St. Lawrence River. The Beaurivage river crosses the Quebec municipalities (in Canada) of: MRC Robert-Cliche Regional County Municipality: municipality of Saint-Séverin; MRC La Nouvelle-Beauce Regional County Municipality: municipality of Saint-Elzéar; MRC of Lotbinière Regional County Municipality: municipalities of Saint-Sylvestre, Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage and Saint-Gilles; Lévis, a city.The Beaurivage River is a river in Quebec that flows from Thetford Mines and empties in the Chaudière River, near Saint-Romuald, Quebec. It is a body of water mostly known for its annual canoe race beginning at Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage, Quebec and finishing at Saint-Gilles, Quebec.

Saint-Rédempteur is a district within Les Chutes-de-la-Chaudière-Ouest borough of the city of Lévis, Quebec. Prior to 2002, it was an independent municipality.

The Pierre Laporte Bridge (French: Pont Pierre-Laporte) is the longest main span suspension bridge in Canada. It crosses the Saint Lawrence River approximately 200 metres (660 ft) west (upstream) of the Quebec Bridge between Quebec City and Lévis, Quebec. It is the longest non-tolled suspension bridge in the world at 1,041 metres (3,415 ft).It was originally named the New Quebec Bridge (Nouveau pont de Québec) and was supposed to be called Pont Frontenac (Frontenac Bridge) until it was renamed in honour of Quebec Vice-Premier Pierre Laporte, who was kidnapped and murdered during the October Crisis of 1970 as construction of the bridge was nearing completion. The bridge was constructed for the Province of Quebec, Department of Roads in a joint venture with the private firm of Parsons Transportation Group. It carries Autoroute 73, north from Autoroute 20, the Trans-Canada Highway, to Quebec City and Autoroute 40, and northwards towards Saguenay.

The Beauce-Etchemin School Board (la Commission scolaire de la Beauce-Etchemin) has its headquarters in Saint-Georges, Quebec. The last Director-General of the School Board was Camil Turmel as of June 26, 2006.

Aquarium du Québec (English: Aquarium of Quebec) is a public aquarium located in the former city of Sainte-Foy in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The 16-hectare (40-acre) facility is home to more than 10,000 animals representing more than 300 species. It is operated by Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq), and is a member of the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA).

The Quebec City Area (or Région de Québec in French) is the metropolitan area surrounding Quebec City, in the Canadian province of Quebec. It consists of two administrative regions: Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches.
