Fenger Academy High School (Chicago)

Roseland Christian School was a private, coeducational elementary school on the far south side of Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in Roseland as a school for the children of Dutch immigrants in the area. Later it mainly served the African American community that lives in Roseland.

West Pullman is a neighborhood located on the far south side of the city of Chicago, Illinois. It is one of the 77 official community areas of Chicago. The Neighborhood of West Pullman was largely inhabited by workers of the Pullman Train Company who were looking to escape the grip of the company town Pullman. The commercial corridor of Kensington/115th Street was one of many Italian communities within Chicago. It is bounded on the north by 115th Street, on the east by the former Illinois Central Railroad, on the south by the Calumet River and Riverdale, on the west by Calumet Park, Blue Island and Ashland Avenue.

The West Pullman Elementary School is a historic school building at 11941 S. Parnell Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The school was built in 1894 to support the growing neighborhood; while West Pullman was not the most populous neighborhood in need of a new school, its land had been donated to the school district, reducing the school's cost enough for it to be feasible. School board architect W. August Fiedler designed the Romanesque Revival school, which features a red brick exterior, rounded arched windows, and ornamental brickwork. A 1900 addition to the school doubled its capacity; William Bryce Mundie, the architect for the addition, introduced Classical Revival elements such as terra cotta decorations and a bracketed cornice. A third addition in 1923, designed by John C. Christensen, largely matched the design of the original two sections. The school served students in West Pullman until it closed in 2013 as part of a wave of Chicago public school closings.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 27, 2018.

West Pullman is a commuter rail station along the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric line in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It is located over Halsted Street halfway between 120th and 122nd Streets, and is 16.7 miles (26.9 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, West Pullman is in zone C. As of 2018, West Pullman is the 232nd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 13 weekday boardings.Although most of the Blue Island Branch contains only one track, there are two tracks at West Pullman. The only other station along the branch that has two tracks is the terminus at Blue Island itself. One parking lot exists on the north side of the tracks along the southbound lane of Halsted Street. Due to its close proximity to the outskirts of Chicago, the station provides bus connections from both the Chicago Transit Authority and Pace suburban bus system. A station typology adopted by the Chicago Plan Commission on October 16, 2014, assigns the West Pullman station a typology of Mixed Residential/Industrial Neighborhood (MRIN). This typology is an area in which the Metra station serves both residential and industrial uses. Like most of the MRIN stations, the does not have access to CTA rail.

Stewart Ridge is a commuter rail station along the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric line in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The official address, according to Metra is Stewart Ridge, South of 120th Place. The actual location is between Stewart Avenue and Harvard Avenue, halfway between 120th Street and 122nd Street, which is 16.1 miles (25.9 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Stewart Ridge is in zone C. As of 2018, Stewart Ridge is the 228th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 19 weekday boardings.Like many Metra Electric stations, Stewart Ridge is little more than a pre-fabricated shelter on an elevated platform. No parking or bus service is available at this station.

St. Michael Eastern Catholic Church is a historic Eastern Catholic church located in the West Pullman Community Area on the far south side of Chicago. The parish belongs to the St. Nicholas Eparchy for the Ukrainian Catholics.

The Foster House and Stable is a Japanese-influenced house at 12147 South Harvard Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, United States. The house was designed in 1900 by Frank Lloyd Wright as a summer home for Stephen A. Foster, an attorney who worked for real estate developer who helped to build this part of the West Pullman neighborhood. It was designated a Chicago Landmark on May 9, 1996.The Foster House and Stable were designed during an experimental period by Frank Lloyd Wright and have some rare design features including Japanese-influenced upward roof flares at all of the roof peaks and on each dormer. The house and stable also incorporate an extremely rare tumblehome design throughout. The exterior walls slant inward from the base to the top. Since the interior walls are straight, the transition takes place in the exterior windows and doors which are wider at the bottom than they are at the top. The house and stable are unique examples and similar to wooden water tower construction with flared supports for added strength.After being on sale for several years, the home sold for $145,000 in March 2020.

The station is officially located at Racine Avenue, South of 120th Street, and is 17.0 miles (27.4 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Racine Avenue is in zone C. As of 2018, Racine Avenue is the 221st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 28 weekday boardings.Racine Avenue is the last station along the Blue Island Branch within the Chicago city limits. Parking is available exclusively along 121st Street between South Elizabeth and South Racine Avenues. No bus connections are available at this station. A station typology adopted by the Chicago Plan Commission on October 16, 2014, assigns the Racine Avenue station a typology of Mixed Residential/Industrial Neighborhood (MRIN). Washington Heights is the 73rd of Chicago's 77 community areas. Located 12 miles (19 km) from the Loop, it is on the city's far south side. Washington Heights is considered part of the Blue Island Ridge, along with the nearby community areas of Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood, and the village of Blue Island. It contains a neighborhood also known as Washington Heights, as well as the neighborhoods of Brainerd and Fernwood. As of 2017, Washington Heights had 27,453 inhabitants. Named for the heights which are now part of the adjacent Beverly, the area was settled in the late 19th century at the intersection of two railroad lines. It was incorporated as a village in 1874, and was annexed by Chicago in 1890. During most of the 20th century, Washington Heights was primarily inhabited by Irish, Germans and Swedes; after late-20th-century white flight, it has been mainly inhabited by African-Americans. The area largely retained its middle-class character during its racial transition, declining somewhat in recent years. Historically influenced by transit, Washington Heights includes the original site of the former Chicago Bridge & Iron Company. The Brainerd Bungalow Historic District and the Carter G. Woodson Regional Library, home of the largest collection of African-American history in the midwestern United States, are in the area.

Percy Lavon Julian High School (commonly known as Julian High School) is a public 4–year high school located in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened in September 1975, Julian is a part of the Chicago Public Schools district. Julian is named for African-American research chemist Percy Lavon Julian.

The station is officially located at State Street, South of 120th Place (though in reality runs along the median of 121st Street), and is 15.6 miles (25.1 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, State Street is in zone C. As of 2018, State Street is the 214th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 41 weekday boardings.A station typology adopted by the Chicago Plan Commission on October 16, 2014, assigns the State Street typology of Low Density Neighborhood. The station is surrounded primarily by residential uses. Most riders walk or bike to the station. There is no commuter parking lot for this station, but there is still parking near the station.
