Osasco (Portuguese pronunciation: [oˈzasku]) is a municipality in São Paulo State, Brazil, located in the Greater São Paulo and ranking 5th in population among São Paulo municipalities. According to the IBGE 2015, Osasco currently has the 9th highest gross domestic product in Brazil, and the 2nd largest in the State of São Paulo. The population is 699,944 (2020 est.) in an area of 64.95 km2. It is among the world's more dense cities, similar in density to Tokyo and New York City. It's considered the major urban centre of the Western portion of the Greater São Paulo. It used to be a district of São Paulo City until February 19, 1962, when Osasco became a municipality of its own. The city motto is "Urbs labor", a Latin phrase that means "City work".

Pinheiros River

The Pinheiros River (Portuguese: Rio Pinheiros) is a most rectified inverted polluted water original sinuous course, today tributary of the Tietê River that runs 25 kilometres (16 mi) through the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Until 1920, the river was together the river Jurubatuba, a complex hydrography, most now disappeared. After being channelized and its direction inverted with Pumps at the called Usina da Traição, remained only as Pinheiros. In southern São Paulo the Pinheiros River is impounded in Billings Reservoir to generate energy at Henry Borden Hydroelectric at Cubatão.

The Centro de Televisão da Anhanguera, popularly known as CDT da Anhanguera, is the second largest center of television production in Brazil and is the headquarters of the Brazilian TV company SBT. The complex is second only to the Estúdios Globo of TV Globo, located in Rio de Janeiro. The large complex was inaugurated in 1996 by Silvio Santos and it is located in the city of Osasco within the Greater São Paulo metro area. It concentrates all of the activity of SBT in a single facility.
