Freeby

Saxby railway station was a station serving the villages of Saxby and Freeby, Leicestershire. It was located between the two villages.

Stapleford is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Freeby, in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England, east of Melton Mowbray. It is just south of the River Eye. In 1931 the parish had a population of 145. On 1 April 1936 the parish was abolished and merged with Freeby. The village is the site of the large Stapleford Park. The historic Stapleford Miniature Railway runs in the park. It has a church called St Mary Magdalene's Church.

The main structure height to the top of the steelwork is 290.8 metres (954 ft), with the UHF television antennas contained within a GRP shroud mounted on top.

The parish includes the villages of Garthorpe and Coston, and is near Saxby (in Freeby parish), Wymondham, Buckminster and Sproxton. The village's name means 'farm/settlement with an enclosure'. The village is positioned at the confluence of two watercourses, therefore another suggestion is 'farm/settlement on a triangular piece of land'. The civil parish had a population of 418 at the 2011 census. St Mary's Church is a redundant Church of England parish church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The building is Grade I listed.
