St Mary Magdalene's Church, Stapleford

Stapleford Miniature Railway is an historic steam locomotive-hauled 10+1⁄4 in (260 mm) gauge railway at Stapleford Park, Stapleford near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, England. Considered one of the finest examples of its type, the railway is now private but still attracts thousands of visitors from the UK and abroad during its two public charity events each year.

Stapleford is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Freeby, in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England, east of Melton Mowbray. It is just south of the River Eye. In 1931 the parish had a population of 145. On 1 April 1936 the parish was abolished and merged with Freeby. The village is the site of the large Stapleford Park. The historic Stapleford Miniature Railway runs in the park. It has a church called St Mary Magdalene's Church.

Stapleford Park is a Grade I listed country house in Stapleford, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, England, which is now used as a hotel. It was originally the seat of the Sherard and Tamblyn families, later the Earls of Harborough and, from 1894, of the Gretton family, who would become the Barons Gretton.

Freeby is a village and civil parish in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England, about 3 miles (5 km) east of Melton Mowbray. As well as the village of Freeby the civil parish includes the villages of Brentingby, Saxby, Stapleford and Wyfordby. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 244. Isaac Watts lived in the village and preached at the Congregational chapel.

Wymondham Rough is a 6.0 hectares (15 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) east of Stapleford in Leicestershire. The SSSI is part of the 12.5 hectare Wymondham Rough nature reserve, which is managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. This clay grassland has a rich flora, dominated by common bent, Yorkshire fog, false oat-grass and cock's foot. A poorly drained area has plants such as water avens, and there are drier soils in the west of the site. There is access from a gate north of the level crossing.

St Mary's Church is a redundant Church of England parish church in the village of Garthorpe, Leicestershire, England. The building is Grade I listed. It has been in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust since 1 November 1999.

Whissendine railway station was a station serving the villages of Whissendine in Rutland and Wymondham and Edmondthorpe in Leicestershire. The station itself was about one and a half miles from each, and was in Leicestershire. It opened in 1848 on the Syston and Peterborough Railway and was originally named Wymondham but by 1863 it had been renamed Whisendine (with one s).

Garthorpe is a village and civil parish (sometimes called Garthorpe and Coston) in Leicestershire, England, in the Melton district. It is about five miles east of Melton Mowbray. The parish includes the villages of Garthorpe and Coston, and is near Saxby (in Freeby parish), Wymondham, Buckminster and Sproxton. The village's name means 'farm/settlement with an enclosure'. The village is positioned at the confluence of two watercourses, therefore another suggestion is 'farm/settlement on a triangular piece of land'. The civil parish had a population of 418 at the 2011 census. St Mary's Church is a redundant Church of England parish church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The building is Grade I listed.

St Mary's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Brentingby, Leicestershire, England. The walls of the church required renovation when converted into a private house, with the tower standing untouched. The tower is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
