St Mary's Church, Brentingby

Brentingby is a village in Leicestershire, England. The population is included in the civil parish of Freeby. The village's name means either 'farm/settlement of Brenting/Branting' or 'farm/settlement at the steep place'.

River Eye SSSI is a 6.0 hectares (15 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest covering a stretch of the River Eye between Ham Bridge, north-west of Stapleford, and the eastern outskirts of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. It is a Nature Conservation Review site. This unpolluted clay stream has rich and diverse flora and fauna. Marginal vegetation includes bulrush, branched bur-reed and greater pond sedge, while shallow, fast-flowing stretches have curled pondweed and perfoliate pondweed. The river runs through private land but it is crossed by roads and footpaths.

Thorpe Arnold is a farming village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Waltham on the Wolds and Thorpe Arnold in the district of Melton, which is approximately 1.2 miles (1.9 km) northeast of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 128. On 1 April 1936 the parish was abolished and to form Waltham.

Burton Lazars is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Burton and Dalby, in the Melton district, in the county of Leicestershire, England. It is two miles (3 km) south-east of Melton Mowbray, having a population of c.450 in 2015. It is the site of the remains of the English headquarters of the military and hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus.

Twinlakes is a theme park located 0.5 miles (0.75 kilometres) north-east of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England. The park was opened in September 2003, eleven months after the site was purchased. The 100-acre (400,000 m2) park is family friendly with a large percentage of its rides being for young children, in comparison with other theme parks such as Alton Towers and Drayton Manor. Furthermore, groups of visitors with no children are not allowed access to the park. Like many similar venues, Twinlakes is divided into geographic 'zones' to help visitors find their way around. However, unlike other places there seems to be little similarity between the individual attractions within each zone. Attractions at present include: small zoo, falconry centre, roller coaster, log flume, assault course, toboggan slide, go karts, "Excalibur" chair swing, "Icarus" sky flyer, Teacups, "Joust" horse ride, dragon themed toddler ride, "American Dream" model village, bumper boats, a boating lake and many more. A miniature railway with an oriental style transports visitors between various parts of the park. Twinlakes is open every day of the year except for 25 and 26 December and 1 January. Group discounts and annual passes (which can also be used at the parks' sister venue Wheelgate Adventure Park near Mansfield) are available. The park’s advertising slogan is "Fantastic all weather family fun".

Freeby is a village and civil parish in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England, about 3 miles (5 km) east of Melton Mowbray. As well as the village of Freeby the civil parish includes the villages of Brentingby, Saxby, Stapleford and Wyfordby. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 244. Isaac Watts lived in the village and preached at the Congregational chapel.

Melton Town Football Club is a football club based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England. They are currently members of the United Counties League Premier Division North and play at the Melton Sports Village

Craven is the name given to the ward and suburb of Melton Mowbray in the county of Leicestershire, England. It is one of the six wards of the town on Melton Borough Council.

King Edward VII School (KE7) was an LEA maintained 11-19 comprehensive secondary school in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire in England which closed in 2011. The school was situated on a 56-acre (230,000 m2) green field site on the edge of Melton Mowbray. Formerly, the school was a public grammar school. A third phase specialist technology college, Microsoft Partner School, CISCO Academy and training college, the school received a range of awards for its work. The school was one of the first in the country to offer Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA) as a course, being one of the pilot schools for the qualification.

Stapleford Miniature Railway is an historic steam locomotive-hauled 10+1⁄4 in (260 mm) gauge railway at Stapleford Park, Stapleford near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, England. Considered one of the finest examples of its type, the railway is now private but still attracts thousands of visitors from the UK and abroad during its two public charity events each year.

Stapleford is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Freeby, in the Melton district of Leicestershire, England, east of Melton Mowbray. It is just south of the River Eye. In 1931 the parish had a population of 145. On 1 April 1936 the parish was abolished and merged with Freeby. The village is the site of the large Stapleford Park. The historic Stapleford Miniature Railway runs in the park. It has a church called St Mary Magdalene's Church.

St Mary Magdalene's Church is a redundant Anglican church near the village of Stapleford, Leicestershire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It is situated in the grounds of Stapleford Park.
