Torhelm

The Zillertal Arena is a winter sports area and the largest ski area in the Zillertal valley in Austria. It has 163 kilometres of piste and 50 lifts that can transport 76,000 people every hour. It consists of two parts: one with valley lifts from Zell, Gerlos and Königsleiten and anothern with valley lifts from Ramsau and Hainzenberg. At the start of the 2008/2009 season a second gondola lift was installed in Zell that was extended to the top station of the old Sportbahn Karspitz for the 2010/2011 winter season.

At 2,558 m above sea level (AA) the Kreuzjoch is the highest peak in the Kitzbühel Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The Kreuzjoch also forms the southwestern end of the Kitzbühel Alps. To the west it is bounded by the Ziller valley, to the southeast by the Gerlos valley. The Kreuzjoch's neighbouring peak is the Torhelm (2,494 m).

Gerlos is a municipality with 793 inhabitants (as of Jan. 2019) in Schwaz district of the Austrian state of Tyrol. The village is popular with skiing tourists, mainly families, as there is easy access to Zillertal Arena Centre on Isskogel. The village lies in the Zell am Ziller judicial district. The municipality of Gerlos has seven districts: Au, Gmünd, Innertal, Mitterhof, Oberhof, Ried and Schwarzach.

The Tyrolean Unterland (German: Tiroler Unterland) is that part of the Austrian state of Tyrol east of its capital city, Innsbruck, excluding East Tyrol.

The Großer Galtenberg is the highest mountain in the Alpbach valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol and belongs to the Kitzbühel Alps. It is 2,424 m (AA) high, is located at the southern end of the Alpbach valley and may be approached from the Alpbach suburb of Inneralpbach. The Alpbachtal ski region is located opposite the Galtenberg. From the summit there are views of Wildschönau and the Alpbach valley.

Stummerberg is a municipality in the Schwaz district in the Austrian state of Tyrol.

The Salzachgeier (2,469 m above sea level (AA)) is a rugged peak on the edge of the Kitzbühel Alps on the border of the Austrian states of Salzburg and Tyrol. In the cirques and high alpine meadows (Hochalmen) of its eastern slopes and the two neighbouring peaks of Fünfmandling (2,401 m) and Schwebenkopf (2,354 m) are the headstreams of the Salzach, the largest river north of the Salzburg Central Alps. The Salzachgeier has a double summit where five sharp ridges run together. The eastern summit is only three metres lower and towers immediately above the aforementioned source regions (the Salzachboden and Schwebenalm). Whilst the southern slopes of the three peaks descend towards the Gerlos Pass, the watershed to the north (the Salzachjoch 1,983 m) is only a kilometre from the eastern cirques. Here on the state border, high over the Roßwildalm, is a mountain chapel, the Markkirchl (St. Mark's Chapel) and somewhat lower down is the New Bamberg Hut run by the German Alpine Club (DAV). To the west, the slopes are just as steep, but less rocky, and drain into the Frommbach stream in the direction of Kitzbühel. The Salzachgeier is part of the touring area for the Bamberg Hut and is a popular ski tour in winter.

Aschau im Zillertal is a municipality in the Schwaz district in the Austrian state of Tyrol.

Gerlos Pass (elevation 1,500 metres [4,921 ft]) is a mountain pass in the Austrian Alps between the Oberpinzgau region in the state of Salzburg and the Zillertal valley in Tyrol. The old road leads from Wald im Pinzgau to Gerlos in the Zillertal valley. It is closed to trucking and not always open in winter. A new toll road that is open all year was built in the 1960s from Krimml to Gerlos.
