Gerlos Pass

Hinterwaldberg is a dispersed settlement in the Oberpinzgau, the upper Salzach valley and the district of Zell am See/Pinzgau, and is a village and Katastralgemeinde in the municipality of Wald im Pinzgau, on the southern edge of the Kitzbühel Alps in Austria.

The Salzachgeier (2,469 m above sea level (AA)) is a rugged peak on the edge of the Kitzbühel Alps on the border of the Austrian states of Salzburg and Tyrol. In the cirques and high alpine meadows (Hochalmen) of its eastern slopes and the two neighbouring peaks of Fünfmandling (2,401 m) and Schwebenkopf (2,354 m) are the headstreams of the Salzach, the largest river north of the Salzburg Central Alps. The Salzachgeier has a double summit where five sharp ridges run together. The eastern summit is only three metres lower and towers immediately above the aforementioned source regions (the Salzachboden and Schwebenalm). Whilst the southern slopes of the three peaks descend towards the Gerlos Pass, the watershed to the north (the Salzachjoch 1,983 m) is only a kilometre from the eastern cirques. Here on the state border, high over the Roßwildalm, is a mountain chapel, the Markkirchl (St. Mark's Chapel) and somewhat lower down is the New Bamberg Hut run by the German Alpine Club (DAV). To the west, the slopes are just as steep, but less rocky, and drain into the Frommbach stream in the direction of Kitzbühel. The Salzachgeier is part of the touring area for the Bamberg Hut and is a popular ski tour in winter.

The New Bamberg Hut (German: Neue Bamberger Hütte) lies at 1,756 m AMSL in the Kelchsau in the Kitzbühel Alps in Austria and is a mountain hut owned by the German Alpine Club's Bamberg Section. The hut may be reached either from the Kelchsau – from the Gasthof Wegscheid inn in the Kurzen Grund in just under 2 hours or from Salzburg state, from Gasthof Ronach on the old Gerlos Road over the Salzachjoch saddle in about 3½ hours.

The Kröndlhorn is a 2,444 m above sea level (AA) high mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in Austria. It is one of the highest mountains on the main crest of the Kitzbühel Alps. The state border between Tyrol and Salzburger Land runs over its summit.

Reinkarsee is a lake of Tyrol, Austria, northeast of the Kröndlhorn. It is drained by the Windauer Ache, a tributary of the Brixentaler Ache.

The Krimmler Ache is a river in the Pinzgau region of the Austrian state of Salzburg, a right tributary of the Salzach at Vorderkrimml, Wald im Pinzgau. Its valley (the Krimmler Achental) forms the boundary between the Zillertal Alps in the west and the Venediger Group in the east, which belong to the High Tauern. The valley begins above the village of Krimml at the Krimml Waterfalls and runs up to its head at the Krimmlerkees on the mountain of Dreiherrenspitze (3,499 m (AA)). The Krimmler Ache itself rises at a height of about 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) at the Krimmler Törl to the valley Obersulzbachtal at the east. In the upper east corner of the valley of the Krimmler Ache there is the alpine hut Warnsdorfer Hütte and in the central section the Krimmler Tauernhaus.

Lahn is a dispersed settlement in the Oberpinzgau, the upper Salzach valley and the district of Zell am See/Pinzgau, and a village in the municipality of Wald im Pinzgau, on the southern rim of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Wald im Pinzgau is a municipality in the district of Zell am See (Pinzgau region), in the state of Salzburg in Austria.

The Zillertal Arena is a winter sports area and the largest ski area in the Zillertal valley in Austria. It has 163 kilometres of piste and 50 lifts that can transport 76,000 people every hour. It consists of two parts: one with valley lifts from Zell, Gerlos and Königsleiten and anothern with valley lifts from Ramsau and Hainzenberg. At the start of the 2008/2009 season a second gondola lift was installed in Zell that was extended to the top station of the old Sportbahn Karspitz for the 2010/2011 winter season.
