The Mercury Club was a Night club that first opened on Dundas Street, near Bay Street, in Toronto, and then moved to 221 Victoria St. Harry Eckler of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame was one of the owners of the Mercury Club, along with Joe Krol of the Football Hall of Fame and Sam Luftspring of the Boxing Hall of Fame. It was a very successful club, which saw top acts such as Henny Youngman, Vic Damone, Tony Bennett, Dick Clark, Billy Daniels and many more. It was also a starting point for many local musicians and entertainers who got their professional start during the 1950s and included such local and Canadian artists as Norma Brooks, The Viscounts Quartet, Marilyn Reddick, The Four Lads, the Four Sounds and others. In the 70s, Guyanese musician Dave Martins acquired the club, called it We Place, but was still locally known as the Mercury Club. It became home to his popular West Indian band the Tradewinds. The kitchen served curry chicken and beef that would blow your head off, and the band packed the place six nights a week.

The Ed Mirvish Theatre, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre, is a historic film and play theatre in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was initially known as the Pantages Theatre, then became the Imperial Theatre, and Canon Theatre before renaming in honour of Ed Mirvish, a well-known businessman and theatre impresario. The theatre was first opened in 1920 and is located near Yonge-Dundas Square.

Massey Hall is a performing arts theatre in the Garden District of downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The theatre was designed to seat 3,500 patrons, but after extensive renovations in the 1940s it now seats up to 2,765.Massey Hall and the more intimate Eaton Auditorium were the only substantial concert venues in Toronto before the 1982 opening of Roy Thomson Hall. Massey Hall was designated a National Historic Site of Canada on June 15, 1981. The Hall closed in July 2018 for a two-year-long renovation including a new seven-storey addition and two smaller concert rooms.

St. Michael's Choir School (also known as SMCS, The Choir School, or St. Mike's Choir) is a semi-private Catholic choir school for boys from grades 3-12 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is jointly operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto and Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, which manage the school's music curriculum, and the Toronto Catholic District School Board, which administers all other academic subjects, athletics programs, and extracurricular activities. The school is a member of the International Boys' Schools Coalition.St. Michael's Choir School trains choristers and musicians in classical and liturgical music through regular choral, music theory, and piano instruction, and optional lessons in music history, vocal, organ, classical guitar, and orchestral string instruments. Admission to the school is by audition and students sing in concerts in Canada and internationally and during weekly mass at St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica. In addition to music and the performing arts, the school's alumni include professionals in business, academia, law, medicine, media, and politics.

Mackenzie House is a historic building and museum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that was the last home of William Lyon Mackenzie, the city's first mayor. It is now a museum operated by the City of Toronto's Museum and Heritage Services.

33 Dundas Street East is a studio complex located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The building was acquired by Rogers Media in 2007 as the new home of its four Toronto television stations: CITY-DT (Citytv), CFMT-DT (OMNI.1), CJMT-DT (OMNI.2) and formerly CityNews Channel. CITY-DT moved into the building on September 8, 2009, followed by the Omni stations a month later on October 19. First built in 2004, the building was home to Olympic Spirit Toronto, an Olympic-themed entertainment attraction, until 2006 and before that a three-storey Salvation Army building. The building features three floors of television studio space for Citytv and Omni. The building is located east of Yonge Street on Dundas Square, near the Toronto Eaton Centre and 10 Dundas East (formerly Toronto Life Square). It was previously known as 35 Dundas Street East, but the street number in the address was changed to 33 in 2009. CITY-TV's previous headquarters were located at 299 Queen Street West, which continues to serve the operations of CHUM Limited's former speciality channels, such as CP24, Much, CTV Life Channel, E!, and CTV Sci-Fi Channel, all of which now owned by Bell Media (previously CTVglobemedia). CFMT and CJMT were previously located at 545 Lake Shore Boulevard West, which continues to serve the operations of its Rogers-owned specialty channels such as OLN, The Biography Channel Canada and G4 Canada. The Rogers Communications headquarters, where the company's other radio stations remain as well as Sportsnet and Sportsnet One, are located at the Rogers Building at One Mount Pleasant Road. In keeping with the layout of Dundas Square, 33 Dundas Street East is notable for its large billboard, usually used to advertise Citytv and OMNI's programming, along with a Jumbotron-style TV screen which relays Citytv broadcast programming to those in the square below.

Olympic Spirit Toronto was an Olympic-themed attraction featuring the moments of high drama and emotion experienced by Olympians and fans throughout Canada's history with the Olympic Games. It offered visitors a taste of what the Olympics are about through interactive sports activities that gave them a chance to try Olympic sports and engage in friendly competitions among themselves. The education-oriented attraction operated in a building at 35 Dundas Street East on Dundas Square in Toronto from August 2004 to August 2006. Following the closure of Olympic Spirit Toronto, the building was purchased by Rogers Communications, and was renovated into television studios for Citytv and Omni Television. Citytv moved into the space on September 8, 2009.Olympic Spirit won a number of prestigious awards, including the 2005 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement and the 2005 Innovation Award presented by Tourism Federation of Ontario (TFO). The Calling, the high-definition film produced for Olympic Spirit, was awarded the 2005 AMOVA Award at the 23rd edition of "Sport Movies & TV - Milano International FICTS Fest" in Milano, Italy.

The John E. Thompson block is a heritage structure at the corner of Yonge and Shuter streets in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1894, and renovated in 1904 and 1920. In 1900 it housed the Yonge Street Mission. According to Now Playing: Early Moviegoing and the Regulation of Fun, it was operating as a movie theatre, in the Griffin chain, in 1907.In 2011 the teller-less bank Tangerine renovated the building, and opened it as an access centre. The third floor, closed to the public, houses a call centre. While the first two floors house a WiFi centre, workspace and cafe for current and potential patrons.

205 Yonge Street was formerly a four-story Bank of Toronto building built in 1905 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1975. The E. J. Lennox-designed structure has a domed roof and Corinthian columns on the front, and it is an example of neoclassical architecture. The building is currently closed to the public, and it has been in the process of being refurbished, with 17,423 square feet (1,618.6 m2) of space. As of April 2019, the property is for sale.Next door at 197 Yonge Street is another historic building. The gap between the two sites was once the Colonial Tavern, which was closed in the 1970s and demolished. The two buildings are located on the east side of Yonge Street, across from the Toronto Eaton Centre, and a few feet north of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres. 205 Yonge was once home to the Toronto Historical Board, a city agency that was in charge of protecting historic sites in Toronto. It left the building in 1998 when the agency was revamped into Heritage Toronto. Heritage Toronto's logo is based on the profile of this building.

Massey Tower is a new complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, being built spanning the block below Shuter Street, between Yonge and Victoria streets. The Northeast corner of the complex will add much needed backstage space to historic Massey Hall. To the south of the complex lies the historic Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres. The Yonge Street facade will use the 1905 Canadian Bank of Commerce headquarters, at 197 Yonge Street, vacant since 1987. The complex's tower will rise 60 storeys and stand 208.3 metres (683 ft) in height.The vacant space was once Colonial Tavern and was Yonge Street Theatre Block Park until 2015 when trees were removed. Access to this park was blocked on and off since 2007. The building's footprint is "S" shaped. Vehicles will be parked on floors three through eight.The building's developers are MOD Developments, and the building was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects. The building is being constructed by Tucker HiRise.

The Colonial Tavern was one of the most famous jazz venues in Canada from the 1950s till its closure in the late 1970s. It was located at 201–203 Yonge Street in Toronto, Ontario (now an open lot between 197 Yonge Street and 205 Yonge Street) where a historic plaque (now removed) remembered this key jazz venue. The Colonial Tavern was owned and managed by brothers-in-law Mike (Myer) G. Lawrence, Goodwin (Goody) and Harvey Lichtenberg. 197–199 Yonge Street (the former Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce building) and 201–203 Yonge Street were purchased by Sal Parasuco of Montreal, Quebec, who planned to erect a hotel. The properties were sold to MOD Developments of Toronto in January 2012 for the Massey Tower condo project

Yonge–Dundas Square, or Dundas Square, is a public square at the southeast corner of the intersection of Yonge Street and Dundas Street East in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Designed by Brown and Storey Architects, the square was conceived in 1997 as part of revitalizing the intersection. Since its completion in 2002, the square has hosted many public events, performances and art displays, establishing itself as a prominent landmark in Toronto and one of the city's prime tourist attractions. Central to the Downtown Yonge entertainment and shopping district, the square is owned by the city and is the first public square in Canada to be maintained through a public-private partnership. The intersection is one of the busiest in Canada, with over 100,000 people crossing the city's first pedestrian scramble daily.Surrounding the square are other major landmarks, including the Toronto Eaton Centre, Ed Mirvish Theatre, and the Citytv building. The square is accessible by the Toronto subway at Dundas station and is connected to the PATH. The square is continuously illuminated by large billboard screens and corporate logos, which has led to comparison of the square with Times Square in New York City and Piccadilly Circus in London.
