Colonial Tavern

The historic building at 197–199 Yonge Street was formerly a four-floor Canadian Bank of Commerce building built in 1905 by architects Darling and Pearson and declared as a historical property by the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1974. The bank left the building in 1987. The bank address was 199 Yonge Street, the numbers still showing above the entrance. Next door at 205 Yonge Street is another historic site. The gap between the two sites was once the Colonial Tavern, demolished in the 20th century. It has been refurbished with 17,423 square feet (1,619 m2) of space. 197 Yonge Street will be preserved and become part of the Massey Tower project.

Massey Tower is a new complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, being built spanning the block below Shuter Street, between Yonge and Victoria streets. The Northeast corner of the complex will add much needed backstage space to historic Massey Hall. To the south of the complex lies the historic Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres. The Yonge Street facade will use the 1905 Canadian Bank of Commerce headquarters, at 197 Yonge Street, vacant since 1987. The complex's tower will rise 60 storeys and stand 208.3 metres (683 ft) in height.The vacant space was once Colonial Tavern and was Yonge Street Theatre Block Park until 2015 when trees were removed. Access to this park was blocked on and off since 2007. The building's footprint is "S" shaped. Vehicles will be parked on floors three through eight.The building's developers are MOD Developments, and the building was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects. The building is being constructed by Tucker HiRise.

205 Yonge Street was formerly a four-story Bank of Toronto building built in 1905 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1975. The E. J. Lennox-designed structure has a domed roof and Corinthian columns on the front, and it is an example of neoclassical architecture. The building is currently closed to the public, and it has been in the process of being refurbished, with 17,423 square feet (1,618.6 m2) of space. As of April 2019, the property is for sale.Next door at 197 Yonge Street is another historic building. The gap between the two sites was once the Colonial Tavern, which was closed in the 1970s and demolished. The two buildings are located on the east side of Yonge Street, across from the Toronto Eaton Centre, and a few feet north of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres. 205 Yonge was once home to the Toronto Historical Board, a city agency that was in charge of protecting historic sites in Toronto. It left the building in 1998 when the agency was revamped into Heritage Toronto. Heritage Toronto's logo is based on the profile of this building.

The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres are a pair of stacked theatres in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Winter Garden Theatre is seven storeys above the Elgin Theatre. They are the last surviving Edwardian stacked theatres in the world.

The John E. Thompson block is a heritage structure at the corner of Yonge and Shuter streets in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1894, and renovated in 1904 and 1920. In 1900 it housed the Yonge Street Mission. According to Now Playing: Early Moviegoing and the Regulation of Fun, it was operating as a movie theatre, in the Griffin chain, in 1907.In 2011 the teller-less bank Tangerine renovated the building, and opened it as an access centre. The third floor, closed to the public, houses a call centre. While the first two floors house a WiFi centre, workspace and cafe for current and potential patrons.

The Woolworth building, located at Queen Street West and Yonge Street in downtown Toronto, pre-dates the Toronto Eaton Centre.

Massey Hall is a performing arts theatre in the Garden District of downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The theatre was designed to seat 3,500 patrons, but after extensive renovations in the 1940s it now seats up to 2,765.Massey Hall and the more intimate Eaton Auditorium were the only substantial concert venues in Toronto before the 1982 opening of Roy Thomson Hall. Massey Hall was designated a National Historic Site of Canada on June 15, 1981. The Hall closed in July 2018 for a two-year-long renovation including a new seven-storey addition and two smaller concert rooms.

Queen is a subway station on Line 1 Yonge–University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located under Yonge Street north from Queen Street to Shuter Street. Wi-Fi service is available at this station.

Flight Stop, also titled Flightstop, is a 1979 site-specific art work by Canadian artist Michael Snow. Located in the Toronto Eaton Centre in Downtown Toronto, the work hangs from the ceiling and appears to depict sixty Canada geese in flight. Each individual goose is made of Styrofoam covered in fibreglass and covered in a sheath made from photographs taken from a single goose. The flock is frozen in mid-flight, "flight stop" being a pun on the nature of still photography. When conceived in 1977, the work was titled Flight Stop but has frequently also been titled Flightstop. The work remains an iconic public art piece in Toronto and in many ways stands as a visual identity for the mall.

The Toronto Eaton Centre (corporately styled as the CF Toronto Eaton Centre since September 2015, and commonly referred to simply as the Eaton Centre) is a shopping mall and office complex in the downtown core of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is owned and managed by Cadillac Fairview (CF). It was named after the Eaton's department store chain that once anchored it before the chain became defunct in the late 1990s. The Toronto Eaton Centre attracts the most visitors of any of Toronto's tourist attractions. It is North America's busiest shopping mall, due to extensive transit access, its downtown location and tourist traffic. The mall has over 230 stores and restaurants in 2014. With 48,969,858 visitors in 2015 alone, the Toronto Eaton Centre sees more annual visitors than either of the two busiest malls in the United States (Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, and Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii), or Central Park in New York City. The number of visitors to the Toronto Eaton Centre in 2015 exceeds the total 2015 passenger counts at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada's largest and busiest airport.

Hudson's Bay Queen Street is a building complex on the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Queen Street West in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was originally named the Simpson's Department Store, and operated as the flagship store of the Simpsons department store chain from 1895–1991. It became a flagship store of its successor, The Bay, in 1991 (rebranded to Hudson's Bay in 2013). The building was retrofitted to house the first Saks Fifth Avenue department store in Canada in 2016. The building is the headquarters of the Hudson's Bay Company, which owns both department store chains. The company sold the building to Cadillac Fairview in 2014 and maintains a leaseback agreement with the company through at least 2039. Through this agreement, the building is part of the CF-owned Toronto Eaton Centre, although a skybridge had already connected the adjacent properties since the 1970s.

The Ed Mirvish Theatre, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre, is a historic film and play theatre in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was initially known as the Pantages Theatre, then became the Imperial Theatre, and Canon Theatre before renaming in honour of Ed Mirvish, a well-known businessman and theatre impresario. The theatre was first opened in 1920 and is located near Yonge-Dundas Square.
