Mount Trashmore is a 65 ft. hill located in Robert E. James Park in Evanston, Illinois. Mount Trashmore is an example of landfill reuse as it was a solid waste landfill that was closed and converted into a park in 1965. In 1973, Evanston began allowing skiing on Mount Trashmore, installing a tow rope and snow making machines. Since skiing was prohibited in the 1980s, Mount Trashmore remained a popular sledding and tobogganing hill in the winter, as well as a popular destination for runners and hikers in the summer. In the summer of 1995, Northwestern University football strength and conditioning director, Larry Lilja planted a small Rose Bowl flag at the top of Mount Trashmore and had the Wildcats repeatedly run up the mountain. They went on to play in the Rose Bowl on January 1, 1996.

Asbury was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Niles Center branch, now known as the Yellow Line. The station was located at Asbury Avenue and Brummel Street in Evanston, Illinois. Asbury was situated east of Dodge and west of Ridge. Asbury opened on March 28, 1925, and closed on March 27, 1948, upon the closing of the Niles Center branch.After the successful reopening of the Oakton station in 2012, it was determined that either the Dodge, Asbury, or Ridge stations could be rebuilt and reopened as well. It appears the Asbury station has won approval but a timeline has yet to be established.

WCGO (1590 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Evanston, Illinois, and serving the Chicago metropolitan area's northern suburbs. The station is owned by Jorge Rodriquez through licensee Ambiente Clasico LLC. WCGO has a brokered programming radio format where hosts buy time on the station and may use their shows to advertise their services or seek donations. On weekday mornings, the station airs Korean-language Christian radio programming. Russian language shows are heard in the afternoon. Evenings and weekends, WCGO airs brokered talk and ethnic shows. Overnight, it carries the nationally syndicated Coast to Coast AM with George Noory from Premiere Networks. By day, WCGO is powered at 10,000 watts non-directional. To protect other stations on 1590 AM from interference, at night it reduces power to 2,500 watts and uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is on North McCormick Boulevard near West Howard Street in Skokie. Programming is also heard on 250-watt FM translator W240EH at 95.9 MHz in Evanston.

The Oakton Historic District is a residential historic district in south central Evanston, Illinois. The district includes 203 contributing buildings, most of which were developed between 1913 and 1940. Development on Evanston's lakeshore began in the mid-nineteenth century, but the land that became the district was part of a large farm owned by the Mulford family at the time; once the family had sold most of its land, the area was platted in 1890. Most of the residences in the district are single-family houses, a product of Evanston's early zoning laws. The houses reflect the popular architectural trends of the early twentieth century; the Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, and American Craftsman styles are most common.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 23, 2005.

The Buildings at 1104–1110 Seward are two identical apartment buildings in Evanston, Illinois. Both buildings are four-unit apartments built in 1927. Architects Van Gunten & Van Gunten designed the buildings in the Tudor Revival style. The buildings' designs are meant to resemble large homes, an unusual form not seen in any of Evanston's other residential apartments. Each design features a brick exterior, a Tudor arched stone entrance, a two-story bay window, and a gable roof.The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 1986.

Indian Boundary Park is a 13-acre (5.3 ha) urban park in the West Ridge neighborhood of North Side, Chicago, Illinois.

Ridge was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's Niles Center branch, now known as the Yellow Line. The station was located at Ridge Avenue and Brummel Street in Evanston, Illinois. Ridge was situated east of Asbury and west of Howard. Ridge opened on March 28, 1925, and closed on March 27, 1948, upon the closing of the Niles Center branch.

Oakton Gables is a historic apartment building at the southeast corner of Oakton Street and Ridge Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brick building was built in 1927. Architect Godfrey E. Larson designed the Tudor Revival building. The building's design includes limestone trim and window hoods, a raised central courtyard, and gables projecting above the roofline, some of which are half-timbered. The design's use of copper is particularly distinctive; the courtyard entrance has copper-clad towers on either side, and it is also used for downspouts and flashing.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The Buildings at 815–817 Brummel and 819–821 Brummel are two historic apartment buildings in Evanston, Illinois. Built in 1928 and 1927 respectively, the two three-story buildings have identical, mirrored Tudor Revival designs. Despite being identical, the buildings were designed by two different architects; 815–817 was designed by E.L. Kline, while 819–821 was designed by Kocher & Larson. Each building features a brick exterior with limestone detailing, Tudor arched entrances, double gables with a diamond pattern facing the street, and crenellation and a small tower on the courtyard-facing side. The two buildings encircle a shared open courtyard, causing them to resemble a single U-shaped courtyard apartment building; while such courtyard apartments are common in Evanston, the buildings are the only multi-building example of the design.The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital is a hospital at 355 Ridge Ave, in Evanston, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital is part of AMITA Health. Its facilities include a Level 1 Trauma and Heart Center, and it has 216 general Acute care beds. AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital of Evanston had been operated by Resurrection Health Care. Resurrection Health Care merged with Provena Health to form Presence Health. As a result, the hospital was renamed Presence Saint Francis Hospital. The hospital was again renamed when Presence Health merged into AMITA Health.

Benedictine Sisters of Chicago is a Roman Catholic Benedictine congregation of women. It was founded in 1861 by three sisters of the Benedictine congregation of Mount St. Benedict Monastery in Erie, Pennsylvania, who came to Chicago to teach the German-speaking children of St. Joseph's parish. They became an independent congregation in 1872. St. Scholastica's Monastery in Rogers Park, Chicago is the Motherhouse. St. Scholastica Academy was an integral part of the sisters' ministry in Chicago.

The Rogers Park Manor Bungalow Historic District is a residential historic district in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The district includes 329 buildings, 247 of which are Chicago bungalows built in the 1920s. As homeownership became more accessible to working-class Chicagoans in the early twentieth century, bungalows became an affordable and popular style due to their easily replicable design, and tens of thousands of the houses were built throughout Chicago. The Rogers Park Manor area was typical of new bungalow neighborhoods, as it was an underdeveloped outlying neighborhood near the city's northern edge. The bungalows in Rogers Park Manor were built by several different developers and architects, which led to variation in the size and shape of the homes despite their similar designs. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 2005.
