Holy Name Church (West Roxbury, Massachusetts)

Bellevue station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. Located in the Bellevue neighborhood, it serves the Needham Line. The station has a mini-high platform for accessibility. The Boston and Providence Railroad opened its West Roxbury Branch from Tollgate to Dedham on July 14, 1849, with Central (later called Bellevue) one of three intermediate stops. A new station building was constructed around 1891.

Parkway is a section of the West Roxbury and Roslindale neighborhoods of Boston, Massachusetts. Parkway takes its name from the parkways that pass through West Roxbury, specifically West Roxbury Parkway (constructed 1919 - 1929) and VFW Parkway (constructed 1930 - 1942). Much of the land that makes up Parkway was once owned by the Weld family, as evidenced by Weld Street that runs through the area. As illustrated on the Boston Redevelopment Authority neighborhood map of 1967, Parkway is roughly bounded by (clockwise, from north) Allandale Street, the Arnold Arboretum, South Street, Washington Street, Corinth Street, Belgrade Avenue, West Roxbury Parkway, Centre Street, Church Street, and the Brookline, Massachusetts line.

Highland station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Boston, Massachusetts. It serves the Needham Line. It is located in the Bellevue Hill section of West Roxbury. The station has a mini-high platform for accessibility. The station originally opened around 1855 on the Boston and Providence Railroad's West Roxbury Branch. A stone station building, similar to one constructed at Mount Hope station the previous year, was built in 1885.The MBTA expanded the parking lot in the early 1990s.

Theodore Parker Unitarian Universalist Church is a historic church building at 1859 Centre Street in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1900 to a design by West Roxbury native Henry M. Seaver, it is a locally significant example of Normanesque architecture, and is adorned by stained glass windows created by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his firm. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020. The congregation it houses was founded in 1712, and is named for the influential Transcendentalist and abolitionist Theodore Parker, who was the congregation's minister in the 1840s.

West Roxbury is a neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts bordered by Roslindale to the northeast, the village of Chestnut Hill and the town of Brookline to the north, the city of Newton to the northwest, the towns of Dedham and Needham to the southwest, and Hyde Park to the southeast. West Roxbury is often mistakenly confused with Roxbury, but the two are separated from each other by Roslindale and Jamaica Plain. Before 1630, the area was inhabited by the Wampanoag Indian Tribe. Founded in 1630 (contemporaneously with Boston), West Roxbury was originally part of the town of Roxbury and was mainly used as farmland. West Roxbury seceded from Roxbury in 1851, and was annexed by Boston in 1874. The town included the neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain and Roslindale. West Roxbury's main commercial thoroughfare is Centre Street. West Roxbury Main Streets is a local non-profit that works to enhance and promote the business district. The neighborhood has some two-family houses but mostly single family homes; many of Boston's civil servants live there. West Roxbury is home to District E-5 of the Boston Police Department, Boston Emergency Medical Services Ambulance 5 that posts at the intersection of West Roxbury Parkway at Centre St and Paramedic 5 stationed at the Faulkner Hospital provide EMS service, and there are two Boston fire stations, Ladder 25 & Engine 30 on Centre Street and Engine 55 on Washington Street. The Needham Branch of the MBTA Commuter Rail network has three stations in West Roxbury (Bellevue, Highland and West Roxbury). Several MBTA bus lines run through and/or terminate in West Roxbury. A large Veterans Affairs hospital is located opposite the Charles River on the VFW Parkway near the Dedham line. West Roxbury is home to several places of worship, including three Catholic parishes, churches of various Protestant denominations, and a Jewish synagogue. The neighborhood was home to an experimental transcendentalist Utopian community called Brook Farm, which attracted notable figures including Margaret Fuller and Nathaniel Hawthorne, whose 1852 novel The Blithedale Romance is based on his stay there.Like its neighboring communities, West Roxbury's residential development grew with the construction of the West Roxbury branch of the Boston and Providence Railroad; the area grew further with the development of electric streetcars.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Parkway (referred to locally as the VFW Parkway) is a historic parkway in Boston, Massachusetts. The southern terminus of the parkway is at Washington Street at the Dedham-West Roxbury border, from where it travels north and then east, ending at a junction with Centre Street, near the Arnold Arboretum. The highway is almost entirely contained within the West Roxbury neighborhood, although it passes through part of the Chestnut Hill neighborhood near its junction with the West Roxbury Parkway. Most of its length, from Spring Street in West Roxbury to its eastern end, is administered by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), a successor to the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) which oversaw the road's construction. The parkway was built in stages between 1930 and 1942, and was designed to provide a parkway connection from the Upper Charles River Reservation to other MDC parks via the West Roxbury Parkway. The DCR portion of the road was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The road formerly carried the designation for U.S. Route 1.

Bellevue Hill is a neighborhood in West Roxbury comprising the areas roughly between Lagrange Street, Centre Street, and the West Roxbury Parkway. Defined by its leafy streets and stately homes, Bellevue Hill is one of the most upscale neighborhoods outside of Boston's downtown core. Bellevue Hill is also the highest natural point in the city of Boston and Suffolk County. It rises to a height of 330 feet (101m) above sea level.On it lies the Bellevue Standpipe, which is on the Boston Register of Historic Places.

Bellevue Standpipe is a historic water storage tank on Bellevue Hill at Washington Street and West Roxbury Parkway in the Stony Brook Reservation of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1914, it is one of three early 20th-century water tanks built as part of Greater Boston's public water supply. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Westerly Burial Ground (also known as Westerly Burying Ground) is an historic cemetery on Centre Street in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1683, it is Boston's seventh-oldest cemetery, and where the first settlers of the West Roxbury area are buried. It was enlarged in 1832, and 1844, and its last documented burial was in 1962. Eight American Revolutionary War veterans are buried there as well as fifteen veterans of the American Civil War. The cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Walnut Hills Cemetery is a historic cemetery on Grove Street and Allandale Road in Brookline, Massachusetts. It encompasses 45.26 acres (18.32 ha), with mature trees and puddingstone outcrops, and was laid out in 1875 in the then-fashionable rural cemetery style. Many past prominent citizens of the town, including architect H. H. Richardson, are buried here. The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

West Roxbury station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Boston, Massachusetts, served by the Needham Line. It is located on an embankment above Lagrange Street in the West Roxbury neighborhood. The station is accessible with a short mini-high platform on the outbound end of the main platform.

Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Greek Catholic Cathedral in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, is a modern cathedral inspired by Byzantine architecture. It is the principal church of the Melkite Greek Catholic Eparchy of Newton, which encompasses the entire United States, the seat of its hierarch, currently Bishop Francois Beyrouti, and the parish church of the Melkite Greek Catholic community in Greater Boston. Its present structure and its status as a cathedral date to 1966; previous to that, Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Catholic Church was a parish church in the South End of Boston.
