Miserden Castle

Miserden War Memorial is a First World War memorial in the village of Miserden, near Stroud, in Gloucestershire, south-western England. The memorial, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, is today a grade II listed building.

Syde, often in the past spelt Side, is a small village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England. It lies in the Cotswolds, near the source of the River Frome, some six miles north west of Cirencester and seven miles east of Painswick. Some of its mullioned windows have unusual three-centred arches at their heads. The front of the house which has the main entrance was added in the late 18th or early 19th century.

Until the Middle Ages, Miserden was known as Greenhampstead, and was mentioned by that name in the Domesday Book. The name Miserden derives from Musardera, "Musard's manor" - Musard was the name of the family which held the manor at the time of the Domesday Book. Robert Musard built Miserden Castle in the 12th century.

Edgeworth Manor is a Grade II* listed country house in Edgeworth, Gloucestershire, England. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book, when it was held by Roger de Lacy. Herman de Dreux, a Domesday baron, held Edgeworth manor by 1137 and was the first to use the de Edgeworth surname. The manor passed to William fitz Herman by 1157 and was held by the male descendants of Herman, in some part, until at least 1379 when the manor was sold by Christine Stevenes, niece of Stephen de Edgeworth, to Thomas Raleigh. The current house is mainly dated to 1685, when the previous Tudor house was replaced for Nathaniel Ridler. It underwent significant changes to south under Capel N. Tripp in 1882 and Sir Ernest George in 1899.

Brimpsfield Priory was a Benedictine monastic foundation in Brimpsfield, Gloucestershire, England, a cell or grange of the Abbey of Saint-Wandrille in Normandy. It was almost certainly founded between 1086 and 1100 by a member of the Giffard family, as lords of Brimpsfield, and was endowed with the demesne and advowson of the church.As an alien priory it was confiscated by Henry V under the Act of 1414. Henry VI gave it to Eton College in 1441. Edward IV confirmed the gift in 1467 but in 1474 gave it to the dean and chapter of Windsor.
