Edgeworth Manor

The Anglican Church of St Mary at Edgeworth in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire, England was built in 11th century. It is a grade I listed building.

Edgeworth is a small village and civil parish in the English county of Gloucestershire. It is located east of Stroud, west of Cirencester and south of Cheltenham. The Church of St Mary was built in 11th century. It is a grade I listed building.

Pinbury was a hamlet in Gloucestershire, England. Pinbury is mentioned in the Domesday Book as containing 18 households. Pinbury contains the ruins of a twelveth century chapel, and possibly the remains of a Roman villa. Following the Norman Conquest, William the Conqueror gave the hamlet to the nuns of Caen in 1082. In 1416, it was transferred to the Bridgettines of Sion, Middlesex, who had a cell, and upon the Suppression, was granted to Andrew, Lord Windsor, in exchange for other lands. From him it passed by purchase to the family of Sir Henry Poole, of Saperton, and from that family to the family of Sir Rob. Atkins; and afterwards from the heir-general of that family, to Lord Bathurst, 1786. In 1803, Henry, Earl Bathurst, was the lord of the manor, with two-thirds of the property of the parish.

Sapperton is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire in England, about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) west of Cirencester. It is most famous for Sapperton Canal Tunnel, and its connection with the Cotswold Arts and Crafts Movement in the early 20th century. It had a population of 424, which had reduced to 412 at the 2011 census.The parish includes the villages of Sapperton and Frampton Mansell. The outlying hamlet of Daneway lies in the parish of Bisley, but is nearer to the village of Sapperton and often considered a part of it.

St Kenelm's Church is a historic church in Sapperton, Gloucestershire in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust. It is listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England. The churchyard contains several notable graves in the churchyard, a few of which are listed.

Daneway House is a grade I listed house in the parish of Bisley-with-Lypiatt but close to Sapperton in Gloucestershire, England.The house was built in the 14th century but revised several times since. It the early 20th century it became a workshop and showroom for Ernest Gimson and the Barnsley brothers who were important designers of the arts and crafts movement.

Daneway Banks (grid reference SO937034) is a 17-hectare (42-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Gloucestershire, notified in 1954 and renotified in 1983. It lies half a mile west of Sapperton and is part of a group of wildlife sites in the Frome Valley that includes Siccaridge Wood and Sapperton Canal reserves. The site is in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.The site is jointly owned by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and the Royal Entomological Society. It is one of a group of nature reserves in Stroud's Golden Valley. The site is listed in the ‘Stroud District’ Local Plan, adopted November 2005, Appendix 6 (online for download) as a Key Wildlife Site.

Sapperton Valley (grid reference SO935035) is a 3.7-hectare (9.1-acre) nature reserve near Chalford in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire, England. The site is managed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust under leasing arrangements with the Bathurst Estate, in place since 1964.

Siccaridge Wood (grid reference SO935035) is a 26.6-hectare (66-acre) nature reserve in Gloucestershire. The site is listed in the ‘Stroud District’ Local Plan, adopted November 2005, Appendix 6 (online for download) as a Key Wildlife Site (KWS).The site is managed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust under leasing arrangements with the Bathurst Estate since 1986. Sponsorship was provided by the then Nature Conservancy Council. Prior to that time the wood was leased to the Forestry Commission.

Juniper Hill, Edgeworth (SO928058 and SO928064) is an 11.25-hectare (27.8-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Gloucestershire, notified in 1974. The site is listed in the 'Cotswold District' Local Plan 2001-2011 (on line) as a Key Wildlife Site (KWS).

Miserden Castle was a castle near the village of Miserden in Gloucestershire, England. The castle is a large motte and bailey Norman castle, built before 1146 by Robert Musard, after whose family the local village is named. The castle overlooks the River Frome and included a 60-foot (18 m) wide shell keep, protected by a stone wall and a moat. The castle is positioned on a rocky spur, and the north side of the castle was probably flooded from the river to produce a wet moat, further strengthening the considerable defences. Musard was killed by forces loyal to King Stephen during the years of the Anarchy and the castle seized by Philip of Gloucester, but the castle survived into at least the 13th century. Some earthworks and masonry structures remain.

Miserden War Memorial is a First World War memorial in the village of Miserden, near Stroud, in Gloucestershire, south-western England. The memorial, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, is today a grade II listed building.
