Denman Island

Hilliers is a village located on Vancouver Island, in the province of British Columbia, Canada. As of the 2021 Census, it had a population of 1,590. It's neighbouring communities are Errington, Coombs, and Qualicum Beach.

Fillongley Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on the east side of Denman Island, southeast of Courtenay, British Columbia, and facing Georgia Strait.

Sandy Island Marine Provincial Park, formerly Sandy Island Provincial Park and also known as Tree Island Park, is a 30 hectare provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located off the north end of Denman Island, on the west side of the Strait of Georgia to the south of Comox. The park comprises Sandy Island (locally known as Tree Island) and the Seal Islets. It is accessible by boat and, at low tide, by foot across tidal flats from Longbeak Point on Denman Island. In 2012 the park's name was officially changed to Jáji7em and Kw'uhl Marine Park (a.k.a. Sandy Island Marine Park), reflecting the K'omoks names for the islands. Jáji7em ("having trees") refers to Sandy Island, while Kw'uhl (unknown meaning) refers to either the Seal Islets or just Seal Island (a.k.a. Shack Island), the largest of the islets.

Rosewall Creek Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located northwest of the community of Bowser. The park is situated along picturesque Rosewall Creek, south of Fanny Bay on central Vancouver Island. The park features a mixture of coniferous trees interspersed with striking broad leaf maple trees. One of the best times to visit this park is in the fall when the color of the maple leaves makes an attractive backdrop for photographers. This small day-use only park incorporates the Lieutenant Ian Philip MacDonald Picnic Area (managed by BC Parks), honouring a soldier from nearby Fanny Bay who was killed in WWII's Normandy Invasion (see photo for details). Two picnic areas on either side of the creek are connected by a short riverside trail; one overlooks the creek and the other is situated at its edge. The area is served by the coast-spanning Island Highway, and the Island Rail Corridor.

The Northumberland Formation is a Late Cretaceous (?Campanian-?Maastrichtian)-aged geologic formation in Canada. It belongs to the larger Nanaimo Group. Indeterminate bird and pterosaur fossils have been recovered from the formation, as well as a potential gladius of Eromangateuthis. An extensive diversity of shark teeth is known from the formation; many appear to be closely allied with modern deep-water shark taxa, suggesting a deep-water environment for the formation. The most well-known exposures of the formation are on Hornby Island.

Deep Bay is an unincorporated area on the east coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada across Baynes Sound from Denman Island which has a government marina in a naturally protected harbour. It is situated on Highway 19A north of Qualicum Beach between Fanny Bay and Bowser. The June 23, 1946 Vancouver Island earthquake shocked the Strait of Georgia region, causing the bottom of Deep Bay to sink between 2.7 m (9 ft) and 25.6 m (84 ft). Deep Bay is the home of the Deep Bay Marine Field Station. The Island Rail Corridor passes through the area, although there is no longer a train service in operation.

Mount Geoffrey Regional Nature Park is regional park in British Columbia, Canada, located on Hornby Island. It covers an area of 303 hectares (750 acres), including the 330-metre (1,080 ft) summit of Mount Geoffrey, the highest point on the island. There are facilities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.

Boyle Point Provincial Park and Protected Area is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on the south end of Denman Island in the western Gulf of Georgia.

Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Provincial Park is a Class-A provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on the southwest coast of Hornby Island. It covers an area of 187 hectares (460 acres), stretching from the Shingle Spit ferry landing in the west to Ford Cove in the east. There are facilities for hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, sightseeing, open water swimming, and horseback riding.

The Deep Bay station is located in Deep Bay, British Columbia. The station was a flag stop on Via Rail's Dayliner service. Service ended in 2011.

CHFR-FM is a Canadian English-language community FM radio station at 96.5 FM in Hornby Island, British Columbia. Owned by Hornby Community Radio Society, the station initially received CRTC approval in 2004 for a very low-power English-language developmental community radio station to broadcast at five watts at 91.5 FM; however, the station would be reassigned its new, and current, frequency at 96.5 FM in 2007. The station under its original license never went on the air, and its license had lapsed.On August 17, 2010, Hornby Community Radio Society received a new license from the CRTC, with the same frequency and parameters. On April 2, 2014, the station received approval to operate under a standard community radio license at 96.5 MHz at 50 watts, replacing its previous developmental license.

Hornby Island of British Columbia, Canada, is one of the two northernmost Gulf Islands, the other being Denman Island. It is located near Vancouver Island's Comox Valley, A small community of 1,225 residents (as of the 2021 census), Hornby is home to many artists, retired professionals, small business owners, remote workers, and young families who share a love of rural island life. Over the past 30 years, the island has become a coveted destination and its population easily quadruples in size during the summer months. The shoulder seasons are a preferred time for hiking, mountain biking, marine activities, weddings, and retreats. Most people reach the island by ferries from Buckley Bay, Vancouver Island. A growing number of private boats also visit through mooring at the Ford Cove Marina or anchoring at Tribune Bay. The closest airport is Comox Valley Airport in Comox, which provides regional, national, and international service. The primary destinations on Hornby are Tribune Bay Provincial Park, Helliwell Provincial Park, Ford's Cove, Heron Rocks and Whaling Station Bay. The island is also a popular mountain biking destination, with a variety of designated trails in Mount Geoffrey Regional Nature Park, Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Provincial Park and Crown Land. The total land area is 29.92 square kilometres (11.55 sq mi), of which 40% is parkland.
