Signal Hill is a 150-acre (61 ha) open space preserve located in Canton, in the U.S. state of Massachusetts; it is centered on a 188-foot (57 m) rocky knoll by the same name. The property, acquired in 2005 by the land conservation non-profit organization The Trustees of Reservations, offers frontage on the Neponset River and views of Great Blue Hill and Downtown Boston from open ledges. The Signal Hill preserve also includes wetlands, open fields, and a car-top boating access point.Signal Hill contains the Wamsutta archaeological site, discovered during construction of Interstate 95, which was a seasonal camp for Paleo-Indians radiocarbon dated by nearby charcoal remains to 12,140 before present, around the time of the last glacial retreat, when rapid melting of the Wisconsin continental glacier created the mile-wide channel through which today's Neponset River flows. At this time, Signal Hill was a peninsula extending into a large lake of glacial meltwater.It is currently abutted by Interstate 95 as well as industrial and suburban land to the east, and river floodplain to the west. The preserve is open to non-motorized carry-in boating, hiking, picnicking, fishing, and similar pursuits. A trailhead for the 1.3 mile trail system is located on University Road in Canton.

Norwood Depot is an MBTA Commuter Rail Franklin/Foxboro Line station located in downtown Norwood, Massachusetts. The station has two side platforms serving the two tracks of the Franklin Branch, each with a mini-high section for accessibility. The Norfolk County Railroad opened through South Dedham (now Norwood) in 1849, with a station at the modern location. It was renamed Norwood in 1872. The line came under control of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad in 1895. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) began subsidizing service in 1966 and purchased the line in 1973. Under the MBTA, renovations to the station were made around 1977 and 1992.

Norwood Central station is an MBTA Commuter Rail Franklin/Foxboro Line station located near downtown Norwood, Massachusetts. It serves as a park-and-ride location for Boston's southwest suburbs; with 1,041 daily riders it is the busiest station on the line outside Boston. The former station building, a one-story yellow brick structure, has been converted to commercial use. The Norfolk County Railroad opened through South Dedham (now Norwood) in 1849. Dedham Middle station opened around 1852, and a small station building was constructed in 1865. The station was renamed Norwood Central in 1872. In 1875, the line became part of the New York and New England Railroad (NY&NE), which built its main shops adjacent to Norwood Central. The Old Colony Railroad opened its Wrentham Branch to Norwood in 1892. The New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad leased the Old Colony in 1893 and obtained control of the NY&NE in 1895. The New Haven eliminated an adjacent grade crossing in 1896 and built a new station structure in 1899, ending a decade-long controversy. As rail travel declined, Norwood Shops closed around 1930 and Wrentham Branch service ended in 1938. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) began subsidizing service in 1966 and purchased the line in 1973. Under the MBTA, renovations to the station were made around 1977 and 1990. Along with Franklin Line commuter rail service, Norwood Central was a stop for Foxboro Stadium special events trains from 1986 to 1988 and 1995 to 2010.

Norwood Memorial Municipal Building (Norwood Town Hall) is a historic building located in Norwood, Massachusetts, United States. The Late Gothic Revival building was built in 1927-28, and is made of Weymouth seamed-face granite. Visitors often mistake it for a church or believe it to have been a church, but it never was; its stained-glass windows depict not saints, but local patriot Aaron Guild. "Guild", whose name appears in local street and building names, is pronounced with a long i, like the second syllable of the word "beguiled". Guild's significance is explained by an inscription on the Aaron Guild Memorial Stone, dedicated in 1903, which stands outside the Norwood public library. The inscription reads: NEAR THIS SPOT CAPT. AARON GUILD ON APRIL 19, 1775 LEFT PLOW IN FURROW, OXEN STANDING AND DEPARTING FOR LEXINGTON ARRIVED IN TIME TO FIRE UPON THE RETREATING BRITISH.Guild and his oxen are featured in the town seal. The building includes a 50-bell carillon tower housing the Walter F. Tilton Memorial Carillon, one of nine carillons in Massachusetts and the seventh-largest in the United States. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Norwood Hospital is a hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts founded as Willett Cottage Hospital in 1902. It is a member of Steward Health Care. On June 28, 2020, a bad rain storm hit the town of Norwood. Most of South Norwood was flooded with more than 5 inches of rain pouring down in less than a few hours. The hospital, located in South Norwood, lost all power and had to evacuate 80-90 people at 10:00pm. The people were brought to other hospitals, and the hospital sat with its power out. In September of that year, The Weather Channel showed footage from the hospital, of water at the door, bursting in, and going through the hallway. After the incident, Steward Health Care System announced that the hospital would be rebuilt as a “state of the art” hospital, that would open late 2023. As of November 2022, the old hospital has been fully demolished. The Canton River passes through downtown Canton, Massachusetts, tracing down Washington and Neponset Streets (flowing under the Canton Viaduct), and continues down Walpole Street. It is a tributary of the Neponset River, with a few tributaries on the side. It is also called the East Branch [of the] Neponset River.

Canton Junction station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Canton, Massachusetts. It serves the Providence/Stoughton Line, and is planned for future service on the South Coast Rail line. It is located slightly north of the Canton Viaduct and west of downtown Canton. At Canton Junction, the Stoughton Branch of the Providence/Stoughton Line splits from the Northeast Corridor and runs southeast to Stoughton, Massachusetts. The Providence section of the line follows the Northeast Corridor south to Providence, Rhode Island and beyond.
