Thiruvananthapuram Orthodox Diocese is one of the 30 dioceses of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

The Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram (also known as Thiruvananthapuram Medical College or Trivandrum Medical College) is in Thiruvananthapuram (the capital of Kerala), India. Founded in 1951, it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and is Kerala's first ever Medical College. Its campus houses several hospitals and institutions in addition to Medical College Hospital (MCH), including the Colleges of Nursing and Pharmaceutical sciences, the Regional Cancer Centre; an autonomous institution under Central Government, Thiruvananthapuram Dental College, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology; another autonomous institute under Govt of India, the Priyadarshini Institute of Paramedical Sciences, the Sree Avittom Thirunal Hospital for Women and Children (SAT Hospital), where the highest number of deliveries are reported in Asia, Child development centre (CDC) an autonomous institution under state government and the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory (MDRL). The Regional Institute of Ophthalmology (RIO), also a part of the college, is being upgraded to a national-level independent institute.

The College of Nursing, Trivandrum, Kerala, India, founded in 1972, is the pioneer institute for nursing education in Kerala and one of the earliest in South East Asia. It comes under the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Kerala and is affiliated to the University of Kerala and the Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Kariavattom Sastha Temple is a Hindu temple located in Kariavattom in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala state, India. The temple is dedicated to lord Ayyappa and it lies on the NH-49 (Kanyakumari-Salem highway), about 13 km from Thiruvananthapuram city.

Pongumoodu (or Pongummoodu) is a small suburb of Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala, India. It originally began as a junction on the Kollam-Trivandrum National Highway and has since become a suburban area of the capital. In 2023, a local leader in the Communist Party of India from Pongumoodu was attacked with acid by another party leader.

St. Mary's Malankara Syrian Catholic Cathedral, Pattom, Trivandrum is the central place of worship of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. It is the seat of the Major Archbishop of Trivandrum. The tombs of the Servant of God Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios, Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios and of Major Archbishop Cyril Baselios Catholicos are located here. The foundation stone of this cathedral was laid by Archbishop Mar Ivanios in 1950, and the cathedral was consecrated by Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios on 22 February 1965. Pope John Paul II visited the cathedral on 8 February 1986. The cathedral was renovated in 2008. The blessing of the renovated cathedral was on 8 November 2008. There were 531 families in the parish community.

Mahatma Gandhi College is a college in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was founded by to Mannathu Padmanabhan, the founder of the Nair Service Society. The college is affiliated to Kerala University and is managed by Nair Service Society. The pioneer institution in Thiruvananthapuram having "College with potential for excellence" awarded by NAAC. As per the 2019 NIRF rankings, Mahatma Gandhi College stands at 68th rank in India and fourth rank in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) at Thiruvananthapuram is a cancer care hospital and research centre. RCC was established in 1981 by the Government of Kerala and the Government of India. It is located in the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College campus in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the state of Kerala. It was established as an expansion of the Radiation Therapy / Radiotherapy department of Medical College Trivandrum. It is a tertiary care center for the managements of all types of cancers. The clinics are mainly on Haematology, Lymphoreticular, soft tissue, bone, head and neck, breast, CNS, gynaecological, urinary, chest, gastro, paediatric oncology and thyroid.

Sarvodaya Vidyalaya is a school of the Major Archiepiscopal Eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Situated on the Bethany Hills at Nalanchira, Sarvodaya was founded on 3 January 1973 by Benedict Mar Gregorios, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum. The school is one of the few schools in the district which provides ISC and ICSE syllabi, the most advanced course in the country. The school has a population of 4,500 students and over 120 teachers. The motto of the school is "Let there be light".

Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom (KV Pattom) is a school in Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, India. It was established in 1964 as a civil sector school affiliated to CBSE. KV Pattom runs with two shifts from Class I to Class XII, with a roll of 3500+ students and 100+ staff.
