Loyola College of Social Sciences is a government aided Catholic higher education institution run by the Kerala Province of the Society of Jesus in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1963. It is affiliated with the University of Kerala and prepares students for a PhD in sociology, social work, and management studies.The college celebrated its golden jubilee in 2012 with the President of India Pranab Mukherjee as guest of honor.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) is a state public technological university headquartered at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. KTU offers professional degrees in engineering, technology, and management-related streams and has advanced courses and syllabi compared to its predecessor universities in the state. Named after the Indian aerospace scientist and statesman A. P. J. The College of Engineering, Trivandrum, commonly shortened to CET, is an engineering college in the Indian state of Kerala, situated in Thiruvananthapuram. Founded in 1939 by the Travancore monarch Chithira Thirunal, it is the state's oldest technical institution. It currently offers undergraduate, graduate and research programs in eight branches of engineering and has been affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University since 2015, prior to which it was part of the University of Kerala.

Aakkulam is a region in Trivandrum city, the capital of Kerala state in India. It is about 10 km from Thiruvananthapuram city center. situated where the Akkulam Lake joins the sea. Akkulam Tourist village and Akkulam Boat Club are the major picnic spots in the area. The LuLu Mall Trivandrum mall is located here. The Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) at Thiruvananthapuram is a cancer care hospital and research centre. RCC was established in 1981 by the Government of Kerala and the Government of India. It is located in the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College campus in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the state of Kerala. It was established as an expansion of the Radiation Therapy / Radiotherapy department of Medical College Trivandrum. It is a tertiary care center for the managements of all types of cancers. The clinics are mainly on Haematology, Lymphoreticular, soft tissue, bone, head and neck, breast, CNS, gynaecological, urinary, chest, gastro, paediatric oncology and thyroid.
