Maliaño

Guarnizo is a village in the municipality of El Astillero (Real Astillero de Guarnizo) in Cantabria, Spain. According to the INE it had a population of 4,463 in 2010.

Camargo (Camargu, in Cantabrian) is a municipality in the province and autonomous community of Cantabria, northern Spain. Its capital is Muriedas.

El Astillero (English: "The Shipyard") is a town and municipality in the province and autonomous community of Cantabria, northern Spain. It is near the provincial capital of Santander, and it is known for its shipyard, and for hosting of Spanish national Rowing Championships. Its location is geographically defined by the estuaries that surround it. It is located between the municipalities of Camargo (formerly part of El Astillero), Villaescusa, Piélagos, Medio Cudeyo and Marina de Cudeyo. Located at the foot of Peña Cabarga, is 7.5 kilometres away from the capital, Santander, and is 20 metres above sea level. The confluence of the rivers and the coast of the bay is a large expanse of wetlands where various migratory birds nest throughout the year. The municipality covers an area of 6.80 km.

Muriedas is the capital of the municipality of Camargo (Cantabria, Spain). The town is situated 7 kilometers from Santander. Within just 2 kilometers away is the Santander Airport, which is located in Maliaño, in the town of Camargo, as well as the bay and harbor.

The Parliament of Cantabria, is the unicameral legislature of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria. Santander railway station, also known as Santander ADIF to distinguish it from the Santander Feve station, is the main railway station of the Spanish city of Santander, Cantabria. It opened in 1858 and served over 3 million passengers in 2018. The station is actually a complex of two stations, one serving Renfe Iberian-gauge railways, and another adjacent serving FEVE metre-gauge services to Bilbao-Abando and Oviedo.

The Battle of Santander was fought in the War in the North campaign of the Spanish Civil War during the summer of 1937. Santander's fall on 26 August assured the Nationalist conquest of the province of Santander, now Cantabria. The battle devastated the Republic's "Army of the North"; 60,000 soldiers were captured by the Nationalists.

Villaescusa is a municipality located in the autonomous community of Cantabria, Spain. It has a population of 3,802 inhabitants (2013).
