Hainault Forest

Offset Festival was a musical festival held at Hainault Forest Country Park, just outside London, from 2008 to 2010.

Hainault Lodge in Fairlop is the only Local Nature Reserve in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is owned and managed by Redbrige Council.

Redbridge Cycling Centre is a road cycle circuit and mountain bike course at Hog Hill – near Hainault Forest Country Park and directly opposite the Forest Cemetery and Crematorium. The £5m cost of the facility was funded by the London Development Agency (LDA) as a replacement the former Eastway cycle facilities that were redeveloped for the London Olympic Park. The LDA funded the facility up to the completion of the legacy London Velopark. It was opened by Boris Johnson in August 2008.In 2014, Redbridge Council agreed to purchase Redbridge Cycling Centre from the Crown Estate using a grant from the London Marathon Charitable Trust.

Lambourne is a civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England. It is located approximately 4.5 miles (7 km) South of Epping and 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Romford. It covers an area of 2,590 acres (1,050 ha), and in 2001 its population was 1,828, increasing to 2,013 at the 2011 Census.

Chigwell Row Wood is a 14.1 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Chigwell in Epping Forest district, Essex. It is owned by The Chigwell Row Recreation Ground Charity, of which the district council are the trustees, and managed by council staff and volunteers.The wood is a remnant of the ancient Hainault Forest, and its history can be traced back to the seventeenth century. The trees were traditionally pollarded for fuel, and 366 pollards over 250 years old have been recorded. 75% of these are hornbeam and 20% oak. Over 800 species of invertebrates have been recorded. In the early 2000s heathland areas were suffering from invasive bramble and aspen, and since 2005 clearance of these species has resulted in a return of heathland species.There is access from a park off Lambourne Road.

The Forest Academy (formerly Hainault Forest High School) is a coeducational secondary school situated near to Hainault Forest Country Park in Hainault, London, England. The school is an academy sponsored by Beacon Multi Academy Trust. The Forest Academy is an Ofsted 'Good' school. It was inspected by Ofsted in January 2023, and was praised for - - “Pupils feel safe and are happy.” - “Staff have a positive working relationship with pupils, which reflects the school’s culture of respect." - “Pupils are polite and considerate of others.” - “Pupils learn in a calm environment and their attendance is high. Courses offered at The Forest Academy campus 6th form include a 3-year pathway, including GCSEs English and Maths and level 2 courses, A-levels and Level 3 vocational qualifications.

Abridge is a village in Essex, England. It is on the River Roding, 16 miles (26 km) southwest of the county town of Chelmsford. The village is in the district of Epping Forest and in the parliamentary constituency of Brentwood and Ongar. It is part of the civil parish of Lambourne and is served by Lambourne Parish Council.It takes its name from the brick bridge over the River Roding, which is situated just to the north of the modern centre, on the road to Theydon Bois.

Marks Gate is an area in Little Heath in Ilford at the northern tip of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in East London, England. It is located immediately north of Chadwell Heath and to the west of Romford. The name originally referred to an entrance or gate into Hainault Forest at the northern end of the current Whalebone Lane North, the name being derived from the proximity of the gate to the manor of Marks (later Marks Hall) which stood on what is now Warren Hall Farm. As with many old houses the name was derived from the de Merk family who built the original manor in the 14th Century.The oldest evidence for a settlement in this location is of a fortified village on the hilltop around 600 BC, and by 1777 Marks Gate was shown on maps as a hamlet on the southern edge of Hainault Forest. Subsequent development in the 1950s has overtaken two other gates to the forest, at Roselane Gate at the northern end of Rose Lane, and a further gate at Padnall Corner.Scenes for the 2009 box office hit Harry Brown starring London actor Michael Caine and soul music singer Plan B, were filmed here. Famous ex-residents include David Essex who lived in Padnall Road.

Waltham Holy Cross was a local government district in the county of Essex, England. It was created as a local board of health district in 1850 when the parish of Waltham Holy Cross adopted the Public Health Act 1848 and was governed by Waltham Holy Cross Local Board of Health. In 1894 it became an urban district and the board became Waltham Holy Cross Urban District Council. The district was within the review area of the Royal Commission on Local Government in Greater London in 1957, but was not included in the Greater London area created in 1965. The district was abolished and amalgamated with other local government districts in 1974 to form the Epping Forest District. The former urban district became a civil parish that was renamed Waltham Abbey in 1974.

Grange Hill is a London Underground station on the Central line which lies in the parish of Chigwell in the Epping Forest district of Essex. The boundary with the London Borough of Redbridge is immediately to the east of the station buildings. The station is between Hainault and Chigwell stations. The station has been in Travelcard Zone 4 since 2 January 2007.

Stapleford Abbotts is a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, approximately 5.5 mi (9 km) SW of Ongar, 4.5 mi (7 km) N of Romford and 5 mi (8 km) SSE of Epping. The whole parish is within the M25 motorway. The village covers 957 hectares (2,360 acres) and had a population of 959 in 2001, increasing to 1,008 at the 2011 Census.
