Lambourne is a civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England. It is located approximately 4.5 miles (7 km) South of Epping and 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Romford. It covers an area of 2,590 acres (1,050 ha), and in 2001 its population was 1,828, increasing to 2,013 at the 2011 Census.

Theydon Bois ( or ) is a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England. It is 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Epping, 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of Loughton and 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Harlow. The population was 4,062 as at the 2011 Census.Theydon Bois is inside the M25 motorway near to its junction with the M11 motorway. It is served by Theydon Bois tube station on the Central line and has one primary school, Theydon Bois County Primary School. It lies on the edge of Epping Forest. It also has the Theydon Bois Interchange. A notable characteristic of the village is its almost complete absence of street lighting. Villagers have consistently voted against the installation of such lighting for decades, fearing that it would damage the traditional village ambience and require a rise in council tax. Only the approach to the tube station features a small number of lampposts.

Theydon Bois (, ) is a London Underground station in the village of Theydon Bois in Essex, England. It is served by the Central line and is between Debden and Epping, in Travelcard Zone 6.

The Epping Forest Country Club was a group of three night clubs on the Essex/London border, just outside Chigwell, Essex. The various night clubs were well known throughout South East of England and attracted many big-name acts as well as many celebrity visitors. The venues closed in early 2002 after a number of high-profile incidents in addition to complaints from the local residents about noise.

The Loughton incinerator thefts occurred between 1988 and 1992 at the Bank of England's incinerator plant at Debden in Loughton, Essex – four employees of the plant stole more than £600,000 in a series of regular thefts. The four participants and their spouses were arrested in 1992, with only one being prosecuted in criminal court. In a civil suit, the remaining members of the group were ordered to repay half a million pounds to the bank. The story of the case has been adapted into two feature-length films.

Debden Park High School is a mixed academy school situated in Loughton. The current headteacher is Helen Gascoyne, and the previous one, being Cristian Cavanagh, was appointed in April 2007, succeeding Michael Moore.On average, there are 1050 students on roll.

Hainault Forest was a large, mostly wooded area of Essex, which was mostly destroyed after 1851. Less than a tenth of the forest survives; with most of the surviving fragments managed as a part of Hainault Forest Country Park. The country park also includes other habitats. The country park is located on the edge of Greater London, with portions in the London Borough of Redbridge; the London Borough of Havering; and in the Lambourne parish of the Epping Forest District in Essex.

Chigwell Row Wood is a 14.1 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Chigwell in Epping Forest district, Essex. It is owned by The Chigwell Row Recreation Ground Charity, of which the district council are the trustees, and managed by council staff and volunteers.The wood is a remnant of the ancient Hainault Forest, and its history can be traced back to the seventeenth century. The trees were traditionally pollarded for fuel, and 366 pollards over 250 years old have been recorded. 75% of these are hornbeam and 20% oak. Over 800 species of invertebrates have been recorded. In the early 2000s heathland areas were suffering from invasive bramble and aspen, and since 2005 clearance of these species has resulted in a return of heathland species.There is access from a park off Lambourne Road.
