Temple Newsam Preceptory

Skelton Lake services (also known as Leeds Skelton Lake services) is a motorway service area operated by Extra, on the M1 motorway near Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is located on Junction 45 of the Motorway which also links into the A63 (into Leeds). It lies on the south side of the motorway; however, the junction affords access to, and from, all directions.

Wyke Beck is a stream that runs from Roundhay Park to the River Aire in east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Described as an Urban Beck, the stream flows through housing estates and then an industrial landscape in its lower reaches. Wyke Beck has been prone to flooding so often, that remediation of its course and flood storage schemes have been initiated by Leeds City Council. The Wyke Beck is a green corridor through east Leeds and flows through, or near, five local nature reserves. Industrial development in its lower reaches has had an impact on the beck and future developments may also mean a reduction in sites for wildlife. A proposal to site a railway depot in the Temple Green/Knostrop area, has been identified as potentially damaging to a colony of white-clawed crayfish.

Temple Newsam (historically Temple Newsham, grid reference SE357322) is a Tudor-Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The estate lends its name to the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council, in which it is situated, and lies to the east of the city, just south of Halton Moor, Halton, Whitkirk and Colton. It is one of nine sites in the Leeds Museums & Galleries group. The house is a Grade I listed building, defined as a "building of outstanding or national architectural or historic interest". The stables are Grade II* listed ("particularly significant buildings of more than local interest"), and ten separate features of the estate are Grade II listed ("buildings of special architectural or historic interest"), including the Sphinx Gates and the Barn. Temple Newsam House is one of Leeds Museums and Galleries sites. It is also part of the research group, Yorkshire Country House Partnership.

Gateway 45 is an industrial estate and park and ride location on the south eastern edge of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The site was initially developed under the name Temple Green and is located with the M1 Motorway on its southern edge and the A63 road on its eastern edge. In July 2018, it was announced that the site had been selected as the location of the planned High Speed 2 phase 2 rolling stock maintenance depot.

Woodlesford () is a suburban village in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, 6 miles (10 km) south-east of Leeds city centre. Formerly part of the Rothwell Urban District, it is now within the Rothwell ward of Leeds City Council. The village sits on the banks of the Aire and Calder Navigation and river system.

Halton is a district of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, situated between Cross Gates to the north, Halton Moor to the west, Colton to the east and Whitkirk to the South. Temple Newsam lies directly south of the estate. The area falls into the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds East parliamentary constituency.

Temple Moor High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. In recent years, it has received 'Science College' status. In 2017 an Ofsted inspection gave the school a Good rating.

Halton Moor is a district of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, about three miles east of Leeds city centre close to the A63. It is situated between Killingbeck to the north, Temple Newsam to the south, Osmondthorpe to the west and Halton and Colton to the east. The area falls into the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds East parliamentary constituency. The area is mainly a council housing estate with approximately 1000 homes, made up of semi-detached houses, with some detached and terraced houses and some high rise blocks of flats. Halton Moor lies within the LS15 & LS9 postcode, with Wyke Beck forming its western boundary. In 2018, the Halton Moor Public House was demolished and will be replaced by a housing development. Many housing developments are currently being constructed in and around the estate.

Skelton Grange Power Station refers to two now-demolished coal fired power stations (Skelton Grange ‘A’ and Skelton Grange ‘B’) that served the city of Leeds and surrounding areas. They were located in the Stourton area of the city. The power stations were built in the early 1950s and early 1960s, taken out of use in 1983 and 1994 and subsequently dismantled but the associated 275 kV switching substation was retained and remains in use.

St Wilfrid's Church, Halton was designed by Albert Randall Wells and built between 1937 and 1939. It is situated in the 1930s suburb of Halton in Leeds, England. The site on Halton Hill was given by Viscount Halifax and the building was paid for by Sir John Priestman. The foundation stone was laid on 6 November 1937. The church is Grade II* listed. It bridges the gap between the Arts and Crafts style and modernism. It has Early English gothic inspired details, such as the triangular-headed windows. The concrete vaulting within the interior in Nikolaus Pevsner's words "remind one of German Expressionism in recent church architecture rather than that of England".The church was built at a cost of £11,700. It still has many of the original fittings designed by Wells as well as contemporary art by Eric Gill. Congregational seating was made by Edward Gardiner who, earlier, had a partnership with Ernest Gimson.

Rothwell is a town in the south-east of the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated between Leeds and Wakefield. It is in the Rothwell ward of Leeds City Council and Elmet and Rothwell parliamentary constituency. Rothwell is part of the West Yorkshire Urban Area. Rothwell had a population of 21,010 in the 2001 census, and the Rothwell ward has an estimated population of 32,365. At the 2011 census the ward had a population of 20,354. The town is close to the A1/M1 link road and the Stourton park and ride. The nearest railway station is Woodlesford.
