Merendree

Lovendegem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌloːˈvɛndəɣɛm]) is a town and former municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the province of East Flanders. The municipality comprised the towns of Lovendegem proper and Vinderhoute. In 2018, Lovendegem had a total population of 9,574. The total area is 19.48 km².

Luchteren is a village in East Flanders, Belgium, within the municipality of Ghent. Luchteren is the most rural parish of Drongen district, located on the main N461 road. Most shops and other important features are located in the main streets Beekstraat, Antoon Catriestraat, Boskeetstraat and Gavergrachtstraat, the last one holding the small parish church, the only school and the only bar of the village. Halewijn is a distinct neighbourhood within Luchteren. Luchteren borders the Drongen parishes of Baarle (south) and Central Drongen (east), the Ghent submunicipality of Mariakerke (northeast), the Nevele submunicipality of Merendree, and Vinderhoute, Lovendegem's only submunicipality.

Hansbeke is a village and deelgemeente (sub-municipality) in the municipality of Deinze in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village is located about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) west of Ghent.

Zomergem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzoːmərɣɛm]) is a town and former municipality located in the Flanders and in the province of East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality comprises the towns of Oostwinkel, Ronsele and Zomergem proper. On 1 January 2018, Zomergem had a total population of 8,466. The total area is 38.78 km2.Effective 1 January 2019, Waarschoot, Lovendegem and Zomergem were merged into the new municipality of Lievegem.

Nevele (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈneːvələ]) is a village and former municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Hansbeke, Landegem, Merendree, Nevele proper, Poesele and Vosselare. In 2018, the municipality of Nevele had a total population of 12,179. The total area is 51.89 km².Effective 1 January 2019, the municipality was merged into Deinze.

Lievegem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlivəˌɣɛm] (listen)) is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders that arose on 1 January 2019 from the merging of the municipalities of Waarschoot, Lovendegem and Zomergem.The merged municipality has an area of 80.78 km² and is home to 26,441 inhabitants as of 2021. A referendum was held for the new name of the municipality, and 55% voted for Lievegem (literally Lieve Canal settlement).Lievegem consists of the following deelgemeentes (sub-municipalities): Lovendegem, Oostwinkel, Ronsele, Vinderhoute, Waarschoot, and Zomergem.

Vinderhoute is a village in the municipality of Lievegem in the province of East Flanders in Belgium. It is located in the Flemish Valley about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north-west of Ghent.

Sint-Martens-Leerne is a village in the Belgian province of East Flanders and is a submunicipality of Deinze. It was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganization of 1977. Sint-Martens-Leerne is located on the Lys river. It has a surface area of 378 ha. The eastern part belongs to the Leie valley and the western (largest) part to Zandig Vlaanderen. The village centre is fused with that of Sint-Maria-Leerne, in the sub-municipality of Bachte-Maria-Leerne. The two churches are only 600 metres apart. The village had 820 inhabitants in 1981. The oldest mention of Sint-Martens-Leerne is from 1192 as Lederna and later in 1206 by Sancti Martini as Lederne. The lordship belonged to the lords of Nevele. Other lordships at Sint-Martens-Leerne were those of Hansbeke, Dentergem and Gampelare. In the 14th-century, several important farms were already mentioned. The history of the church goes back to 1206, and was then in the possession of the chapter of Tournai.

Waarschoot (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋaːrsxoːt]) is a town and former municipality located in the Flemish province of East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality comprised the towns of Waarschoot proper. In 2018, Waarschoot had a total population of 7,967. The total area is 21.91 km2 (8.46 sq mi).Until 31 December 2018, Waarschoot was one of the few Belgian municipalities having a female mayor. Her name is Ann Coopman.Effective 1 January 2019, Waarschoot, Lovendegem, and Zomergem were merged into the new municipality of Lievegem, with only one mayor remaining, Tony Vermeire (CD&V).

Ooidonk Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Ooidonk) is a castle in the city of Deinze, East Flanders, Belgium. The castle is the residence of the current Count t'Kint de Roodenbeke. Ooidonk Castle is situated at an altitude of 11 meters.

Deurle is part of the municipality of Sint-Martens-Latem located in the Flemish part of Belgium. Deurle is a picturesque small village near the borders of the river Lys and was added to Sint-Martens-Latem in 1977. Many well-known Flemish artists have lived in this village nested near a forest. Today, it is one of the best residential areas around Gent (Ghent), also counting numerous restaurants and bistros. The village was first mentioned in 1114 as Durle, but artefacts from the Roman era have been discovered.

Sint-Martens-Latem (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪnt ˌmɑrtəns ˈlaːtəm] (listen)) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality comprises the towns of Deurle and Sint-Martens-Latem proper. In 2021, Sint-Martens-Latem had a total population of 8,285. The total area is 14.34 km².While "Latem" used to be known as an artists' colony before World War II, nowadays Sint-Martens-Latem is one of the wealthiest residential municipalities in Belgium.
