Lievegem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlivəˌɣɛm] (listen)) is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders that arose on 1 January 2019 from the merging of the municipalities of Waarschoot, Lovendegem and Zomergem.The merged municipality has an area of 80.78 km² and is home to 26,441 inhabitants as of 2021. A referendum was held for the new name of the municipality, and 55% voted for Lievegem (literally Lieve Canal settlement).Lievegem consists of the following deelgemeentes (sub-municipalities): Lovendegem, Oostwinkel, Ronsele, Vinderhoute, Waarschoot, and Zomergem.

Hansbeke is a village and deelgemeente (sub-municipality) in the municipality of Deinze in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village is located about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) west of Ghent.

Lovendegem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌloːˈvɛndəɣɛm]) is a town and former municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the province of East Flanders. The municipality comprised the towns of Lovendegem proper and Vinderhoute. In 2018, Lovendegem had a total population of 9,574. The total area is 19.48 km².

Waarschoot (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋaːrsxoːt]) is a town and former municipality located in the Flemish province of East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality comprised the towns of Waarschoot proper. In 2018, Waarschoot had a total population of 7,967. The total area is 21.91 km2 (8.46 sq mi).Until 31 December 2018, Waarschoot was one of the few Belgian municipalities having a female mayor. Her name is Ann Coopman.Effective 1 January 2019, Waarschoot, Lovendegem, and Zomergem were merged into the new municipality of Lievegem, with only one mayor remaining, Tony Vermeire (CD&V).

Bellem is a village and deelgemeente (sub-municipality) in the municipality of Aalter in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village was originally called Bethlehem. Bellem is located about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) west of Ghent.

Eeklo (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈeːkloː] ) is a Belgian municipality in the Flemish province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises only the city of Eeklo proper. The name Eeklo comes from the contraction of "eke" and "lo", two Old German words meaning oak and sparse woods (compare English Oakley).

Eeklo is a railway station in Eeklo, East Flanders, Belgium. The station opened on 25 June 1861 on the Line 58. The train services are operated by NMBS/SNCB. The current building was built in the 80's by architect Jacques Devincke. The railway station is in the city centre. The station used to not be the terminus with the line continuing via Maldegem to Bruges . The Eeklo - Maldegem section of this line still operates as a museum railway by the Stoomcentrum Maldegem . For practical reasons, this association has constructed a platform on the other side of Oostveldstraat, where their museum trains stop. The connection between that line and the SNCB network is currently only used sporadically. The station has 3 platform tracks and one (decommissioned) dead end track.

The Meetjesland is a historical region in the north-west of the province East Flanders in Belgium.

The Holy Burial Chapel is a chapel in the Belgian municipality Eeklo. The chapel is situated near The Cemetery of Eeklo. The chapel, single-aisled and made of bricks and natural stone, was built in 1898, under supervision of the city architect Frans van Wassenove. There are various terracotta statues, of which the topmost represents the Archangel Michael . The statues, designed by Fernand Nisol, were restored by students of the Provincial Institute of Eeklo, in 2004.

Luchteren is a village in East Flanders, Belgium, within the municipality of Ghent. Luchteren is the most rural parish of Drongen district, located on the main N461 road. Most shops and other important features are located in the main streets Beekstraat, Antoon Catriestraat, Boskeetstraat and Gavergrachtstraat, the last one holding the small parish church, the only school and the only bar of the village. Halewijn is a distinct neighbourhood within Luchteren. Luchteren borders the Drongen parishes of Baarle (south) and Central Drongen (east), the Ghent submunicipality of Mariakerke (northeast), the Nevele submunicipality of Merendree, and Vinderhoute, Lovendegem's only submunicipality.
